I skied once is enough, a straightline off of soul searcher (i think?) , the spine (handrail), and some of the sisters chute on a pow day in April! It was really cold for April as well

Out of curiosity was this shot on Saturday 4/6?
I hit 29" (main lodge) to ~36" (chairs 3/5) of light pow at Mammoth on Friday 4/5, but it was still storming and the top was closed. This looks like what I expect the next day looked like? Unfortunately I had a family commitment and couldn't go out.
Kirkwood is ~1200 feet lower, but most of that snow fell at ~15F at Mammoth, and I imagine it wasn't much warmer/heavier at Kirkwood. Must have been epic!
EDIT: Looking more I bet this was on 4/2 after the first round of storms? That was also a really good day, but not as deep.
you were right initially it was 4/6 and then only a couple shots from 4/7. Kirkwood got a little less snow but the quality was still good, but the strong april sun melted the snow and it refroze overnight so the next day was an ice fest.

I know more than a few excellent skiers who love[d] the Soul 7HD. Those super-soft tips and medium-soft tails make it really forgiving, while the midsection is solid enough to drive it reasonably fast (as here). It's not Rossi's fault that dads everywhere snapped it up.
It's not my cup of tea (I'd be riding the 191 Faction Dancer 4 or maybe 189 Fischer 107Ti in these conditions) but I get it. It's a totally legit choice for sending/ripping. I'm glad Rossi went the way they did with the Senders tho.
@@patrickchase5614 I know. There were loads of serious skiers when threw a fit when they went away too. I'd actually like to take a pair out just to see what I can get out of them.
