I am taking Voneprozan for last one month. My ENT dr told me that I have LPR which prompted to gastantrologist who suggested endoscopy. The results revealed normal but mild gastritis. With the use of voneprozan my mouth gets salvia. Little improvement but I get intermittent reflex with stomach pain.
I just was prescribed this today by my doctor. I hope it works and also had to change other medications to make sure there are no side effects. Rather frustrating
My Son had EOE enochinaphil esophagus. He took Omperzole for a couple years. Didn't seem to heal his inflammation, & reflux. (he must be the 20%) Once he started the miracle drug Dupixent. No more EOE! Thank God!
Thats fascinating. Seems like a reasonable price - though that may be a larger portion of wages in Brazil than it is here in the US where it’s typically more.
So I've been on PPI medications for most of my life. Recently my endoscopy showed erosion at the GE junction. It's been biopsies twice in two years and negative for Barretts. After all the years of taking PPI meds I noticed different side effects. Told my gasrroenterologist and he gave me vonoprazen to try and so far it works even better than any other meds I've ever tried. My question is for how long can I take Vonoprazen? I'd hate to go back to the PPI medications as they are the only other thing that works for my relentless Gerd despite trying all kind of things. Previously my doctor said I would be on PPI medications indefinitely. Eventually I hope to find ways to cure myself without meds but for now it's the only relief I get. Any studies showing long term effects? I assume not. Thank you for this informative video!
@@MarkCooperMDI have started taking this since last week . Already feeling relief of Upper GI pain (2/10 out of 10/10) . I was in extreme pain last 4 years none of the PPI worked but this.
I have chronic gastritis but PPIs give me shortness of breath for some reason.. I went to my native country and they gave me Vonozepran I think its working! I dont burp all day and my chest dont hurt anymore but its only been 3-4 days.
How are you doing on it so far? I have the same symptoms and same diagnosis. I just started taking this pill. Am not able to eat any food as food feels like it won’t go down and no digestion.
@@mtabraha1 it helped me for a few weeks, but I started having some bad bowl movements.. you got to remember that this pill is for temporary help until inflammation goes down. Are you eating alkaline diet? You will be fine, remember anxiety will produce more acid and is not helpful.. gastritis is not forever! Just stay away from triggering foods.. Im maybe 90% healed but stil got some symptoms.
Really helpful and informative video! Please kindly continue posting your much appreciated videos Dr. Mark! Thanks for sharing!🙌❤👍

Dupixent effectiveness has been very effective. I’m glad he found relief.
@MarkCooperMD Thank you, yes it has. Soo greatful for this med, it also helped his excema. ☺️
I am taking Vonoprazan and from day 1 my GERD is totally gone! And no side effects at all!
Thanks for sharing. How expensive was it if you’re willing to share such info? What country are you in?
@@MarkCooperMD I live in Brazil and it costs around R$330 (Reais) here. $60 (USD) more or less.
I paid that for a box containing 60 20mg pills.

@@MarkCooperMD Yes. Considering the benefits, it is definitely worth it.

great video as always! do you think this would help with GERD with symptoms like chest pain and regurg only, and not the typical burning ones?
What about the risk of dementia? With proton inhibitors after using for long-term.
The short answer is that the data for PPI causing dementia hasn’t been convincing and the long answer deserves its own video. Thanks for asking.
