The victory lap over making MMA fans hear about pro wrestling is just strange. I generally only listen to individual interviews from this show because the pro wrestling/ darts/ premiere league talk is not for me, emphasis on the wrestling. I see overwhelmingly the same sentiment from others too. Maybe try a dedicated wrestling segment and not bringing it into the mma as much?
Wrestling is for 13 year old boys. I can't imagine watching it as a grown ass man.

Conor is trying to finish out his contract and move on, but Conor is a HUGE piece why ESPN is interested in the UFC. If he leaves before the deal is potentially renegotiated in 2025, it will be the beginning of the end for the UFC. They will continue stalling him out like they've done for years. Conor's team will wait until the UFC antitrust lawsuit is resolved (Trial starts in April), because that will be a huge boon in negotiation for fighters afterward if the UFC loses.
They will never sniff another guy like Conor, their biggest stars will be hard pressed to ever reach 1mil+ PPV buys again. The same way Mike Tyson and Floyd own all the boxing PPV records, Conor will own it for decades.
They had Conor, Ronda, Anderson, Jones, GSP, and Brock all around the same time, and they fumbled it with every single one of them retiring early, or not reaching their max commercial potential.
I recently canceled because ESPN+ sucks the monthly fee is ridiculous. Hopefully they do part ways

That's BS. The UFC is breaking records with average viewers and gate attendances without Conor Involved. UFC has gained more fans globally. Yes Conor propelled the Sport, but the UFC and ESPN deal will do just fine without Conor.
This excuse that Conor will never fight again because hes got too much money might have been a good point had he retired after the floyd fight but the guy has fought several times since. He also got in the pool and slimmed down. Why do that if hes truly done? Listen to the guy begging for a fight date at the Francis/Fury event. Dude was pissed. Also I dont think Conor has it in him to ride off into the sunset and retire. He loves attention too much and has a huge ego.
The way the UFC operates (as revealed in the lawsuit) I definetly can imagine them not letting Conor fight until he signs an extension. Conor would make 100m-300m per fight in boxing influencers and pros and after his contract is up the UFC couldn't cash in on that. Lets hope the lawsuit brings about changes like a fighters union and a cba like in the NBA
He's also the guy who, after getting dominated by Khabib, angled for that rematch for 3 years afterwards. When he was knocked out by Dustin it was straight into the 3rd fight. When he busted his foot the first thing he said was it wasn't over. The notion that Conor doesn't care/want to fight has always been ridiculous. I firmly believe that when Conor doesn't want to fight again he'll be the first to tell everyone.

It has nothing to do with extensions. It's just money. Connor is becoming less and less relevant and yet wants more and more money. The UFC isn't going to lose money just to put Connor on a card.
Because without Dana and UFC, they wouldn't be successful and famous in the first place. Remember every time Conor lost a fight in UFC then he was granted an undeserved rematch vs Nate then rematch vs Poirier? Then when Khabib was suppose to fight Alvarez in 2016, Dana even tweeted Khabib fighting Alvarez not Conor, then Dana gave the Khabib's title fight to Conor instead. You think without this kind of help from Dana and UFC, could Conor be the star today?

Its been a contract dispute this whole time. Conor wants CONTROL. He wants to fight MMA or boxing as he pleases. The UFC doesn’t want this.
This happens with most legends of the sport. They leave quietly with Dana bad mouthing them. Its ramping up…..you could hear the contempt in Dana’s voice with this latest press conference.

one thing thats crazy about the ufc and wwe combining is that the ufc notoriously screws fighters on their merch sales (see omalley talking about the tiny check he got for millions in official ufc merch) while the WWE say plenty of big name wrestlers become millionares just from merch alone. I guess the good thing is that it forced guys like omalley to find a way to make their own merch and they got f u rich off it, but just like they went back and stole in cage endorsements, I really hope the ufc doens't find a way to end personal merch sales.

Totally agree with you Ariel about volk. Volk is my absolute favourite fighter and immediately after that fight I just felt for him and his family, he needs time. He absolutely deserves a chance to reclaim his title but that should not be rushed. It can’t be after two consecutive knockouts. I hear you about looking after him, if ilia wants to go, let him. If Volk wants back in, ilia should take it, and I think he will.

Challengers nowadays have to beat the champion twice. I felt bad for Leon. It wasn't enough to train for Usman. You got to train for two victories now because every champion is so beloved and overhyped but they get to get an immediate rematch. Can we save rematches for split decisions and injuries.

Dana is actually a bad promoter now, he’s messing up his last chance to make 100s of millions with McGregor, also lost super fight of Francis v Jones and lost him to PFL/boxing and couldn’t get Khabib or GSP back again, I believe they would have came back for the right offer but Dana lowballed them. He’s actually a negative effect on the sport, many other people could do a better job.

It’s hard to like DDP when after he beats Rob he says he’s ready to fight Izzy but then suddenly can’t because of an injury and it’s too quick of a turnaround, and then after he beats Sean he says he’s ready to fight Izzy at 300 and then suddenly it’s too quick of a turn around yet again. I even remember him going as far as saying 300 would be perfect.

One of them is telling the truth, but we don't know who is. From what i can read/see (being a hardcore fan of the sport), Conor just don't want to fight and is playing all of us just to keep his name in the spotlight, I get it, but just kinda tired of the whole "Mac show". These fighters are all too selfish. They could hold the UFC hostage to fairer contracts if they all came together, if they backed each other. But they’re short sighted and selfish. There’s been many opportunities to unionise but they never came together. The managers share some of that responsibility. The fighters are focused on fighting and the managers are looking out for their own interests. A perfect example was Francis, Izzy and Kamaru all claiming to be brothers having each others backs. They held 3 belts between them. If they publicly backed Francis and collectively negotiated, they could have made conditions better for everyone. Better contracts and a bigger piece of the pie.

Just be honest with yourself Ariel. Women should not be fighting in the UFC. Once a year, we may get an exciting women’s fight, but they are always just a bathroom break on fight cards. Give them their own promotion and see how the numbers are.
