Imagine the absolute freak he could have been with modern exercise, nutrition, and medical knowledge, combined with how much better coached he would have been to allow him take advantage of his insane physical gifts. He also would have had proper shoes on instead of Chuck Taylor’s. Dude held back because he didnt want to be seen as an unskilled big man and shot more than 60% of his attempts on fadeaways. Stephen Adam's is the strongest currently in NBA, but he is not the strongest ever. It's only because this is what you all see. Fortunately for me, I've been around for almost sixty years.
Chamberlain and Gilmore were 2 of the strongest men to ever play basketball. For starters, Chamberlain was almost 7 foot 2, and Gilmore is a full 7 foot 2, with a little extra. In his prime, Gilmore weighed about 275. By the time he reached the Lakers, Chamberlain's playing weight was between 300 and 310 pounds. Even Gilmore couldn't do a thing with Chamberlain. Adams had to put some effort into lifting Bradley. The late, great Bob Lanier was 6 foot 11 and 285. Why don't you Google what Bob said that Chamberlain did to him when he got too rambunctious under the basket.
Like I said, Adams is one strong dude. He and Shaq are the only people that you youngsters know. This is why a lot of you folks need to close your mouth and listen when the old timer is telling you something.

The only footage of the two together is Wilt shaking Shaqs hand before a game (almost dislocating his shoulder 😂) and them being in a commercial together along with Bill Russel, Bill Walton and Kareem.
Wilt is still boggling my mind, how could someone be so athletically gifted, being that size, extremely strong and yet having stamina like a small marathon runner and running jumping like Jordan.
Literally lifted big +220lbs men with one arm like nothing. Lifting Arnold, basketball players on occasion, holding up the back of cars to help changing tires, broke up fights by picking up grown men like toddlers with their feet dangling.

How you putting Big Ben behind Shaq? Ben Wallace has a 10lb heavier bench, the highest vertical in the league during his first 5-6yrs, and was one of the only NBA players to successfully defend against Shaq during many games they faced off during the regular season and playoffs.

For those who didn’t have the chance to watch Ben Wallace, envision a 6’10 pitbull playing basketball and then throw an extra 20lbs of muscle on that Pitbull. You have Ben Wallace. That man was the definition of a “human brick wall” he’s the only man I ever witnessed make Shaq bounce off him. To have the power to make Prime Shaq bounce off you when he’s posting up is just out of this world.
