Brilliant! Very well presented, I like the way you chose 3 flies and then showed variations on each pattern with a close up too. A clear no nonsense vid, looking forward to watching you get more bass on them mate!💪🏻👍🙂

@@thereel7071 I’ve had a 10lb 3oz bass at a local spot on lure on a calm morning with about half a foot to a foot of consistent surf running, the same spot at a different stage of the tide produces pollack regularly, I know the habits of the fish in the area but have only just started fly fishing in the hope of being able to get amongst them once I’ve got my footing so to speak, incidentally I’ve had a PB wrasse nearby on light kit and worm and also had decent bream & Gar, the Gar here tail dance fantastically and would also be good incredible sport on a fly setup - your vids are awesome 🤝

@@bugsy742 appreciate the support mate 😄 wow! A 10lb bass! That’s a fish of a lifetime! Sounds like you have some pretty decent sport down your way! Tight lines!

@@thereel7071 she was indeed a fish of a lifetime, nuts thing is I had been watching TH-cam vids a fair bit at the time and reading as much as I could about Bass habits and it definitely pays off, I didn’t know before that week to fish all the way to your feet - she hit my lure about 6 feet away from me! It’s why I’m so grateful to channel’s like yours 🤝

@@thereel7071 if you’re ever near Looe gimme a shout- I’ll tell you where to go 👍 I’ve also had a brace of Bass nearby from the kayak on a surprising setup intended for another species that they seem to absolutely love! Again if you’re down this way/ message me I’ll tell you what I’m using 👍🤝 sorry to anyone else reading this but the area has had a lot of trouble with illegal netting by skint foreigners and commercial “professionals” alike 🙁 I will happily share tips for bait and species in general for the are with anyone though 👍

I have watched a few of your videos and am enjoying them, if I ever come to England I will be sure to bring a few fly rods. Keep up the good work, tight lines from British Columbia Canada 🇨🇦

Thanks man ☺️ fishing for the sea bass has been a bit of a journey, I’m still nowhere near to really understanding if I’ve got a good chance of catching yet, need to catch a few more fish to figure out the patterns in their behaviour, but it’s fun figuring it out!

I'm so curious about saltwater fly fishing. We have a lot of weedy tangly marks here and i can see a sinking fly being good for luring out pollock and wrasse hiding in the weeds while avoiding snags

Give it a go man! If there’s decent sized pollack make sure your leader is strong!

Why do you call them sea bass? They're bass just bass! "Sea Bass" is an affectation of the catering trade who are also responsible for "salmon trout" to describe sea trout but which are usually rainbow trout reared in salt water. You won't find any reference to sea bass in a UK book or article on bass fishing prior to about 1990.

Easy buddy 😄 I appreciate they are 'bass', I've been using 'sea bass' to help differentiate my content from American bass fly fishing content, which I think is helpful to potential viewers. When I search, I find it helps to get the results Im looking for so did the same here.
