You want to know what is amazing. I'm guessing 95% of your likes are people who are true Em fans, but respect MGKs try. I personally an MGK fan. Hes got some Bangers. But I think most of his best music came out before this Beef. Final thoughts. Yes Em owned MGK. In the beef. It was over before it started with Not Alike.
He’s had a couple of solid things come out since the beef but I agree his best work was before 2018 as of right now. I thought Hotel Diablo was pretty good though. And his what’s poppin freestyle is the best I’ve heard on that beat.
I think MGKs best work happened before he signed to interscope with the 4 mixtapes than the year he made this diss track he fell off as a rapper now hes doing pop punk for 2 albums I wish he did a pop punk album and a rap album in the same year
Great reaction Cliff! Can’t wait to watch your Killshot reaction now! I also heard MGK didn’t write the last verse - I heard it was Cordae, Youngboy and Pete Davidson! (And Pete helped with the whole thing - which is maybe where some of the funnier lines came from!) Don’t know how true that is though - I’ve nothing to back it up other than industry rumours!
So this started in 2012 because MGK tweeted that Hailey was “hot” but she was 16 at the time. MGK claimed Em got him black balled off shade 45 and called puff and jimmy to get him kicked off interscope. Aside from that, I agree 100% with most of the reaction, MGK is nursery rhyming with a couple funny punches but he contradicted himself so many times, had school yard disses and elementary lines, on top of that with the auto tunes, the bridges, the singing hooks, just not fit for a “battle/diss track”
Are you mentally incapable of understanding that you can respect someone you used to look up to but also feel betrayed by them and have to defend yourself? Everyone who says Eminem won is either a stan, they just don't understand how a diss is supposed to be structured, or they are just repeating what everyone else is saying. Rap Devil is a real diss track with real disses that call out Eminem as a person and his actions. For example, the entire second verse of Rap Devil. Here's part of it: "Let's talk about the fact you actually blackballed a rapper that's twice as young as you, Let's call Sway and ask why I can't go up to Shade 45 because of you, Let's ask Interscope how you had Paul Rosenberg tryin' to shelf me". The best line anyone could pull out of Killshot is either the man-bun line (which is literally a compliment because it was for a movie role) or "long as I'm Shady he's gon' have to live in my shadow" which could literally be said to anyone and has no actual weight when used against MGK. You got it completely backwards bud, Killshot is a bunch of lunchroom insults with a good flow while Rap Devil is an actual diss track with disses that have actual weight to them, just read the damn lyrics.
I understand why people don't like MGK for this track but you can't hate him for standing his ground If you say shit bout me imma say something back Also, MGK calling em the goat is because he is/was his fav rapper. (WHEN IDOLS BECOME YOUR RIVAL)
@@demonik2108 not too many instances. These are disses. He's trying to bury Eminem. He failed, of course. Sounded like he was just a mad little boy. Just listen and you'll see. Full props for some good hits but overall? Kinda weak.
I'm pretty sure he says "Can anyone else get food in their mouth" because he claims Eminem controls who is seen by the light and who isn't and hes blacklisted MGK. Hes said multiple times the eminem is a bully of the rap game who wont share the light.
Eminem is no where near in control of the music industry. He’s putting the blame of his rap career on Eminem. There are independent artists that have sold more than MGK that are white. If a rapper is blaming another rapper for their failed success, that says a lot about them.. 🤷♂️
"His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy There's vomit on his sweater already, mom's spaghetti" - lyrics from Lose yourself dude! Rabbit was his name in 8 Mile movie
Diss tracks don't have hooks. This Is more of a song while Killshot is a real diss track. Diss aren't supposed be complimentary they're supposed to be grimey.
@@kmc19xx59 if you mean 2Pac "Hit Em Up" & Biggie "Who Shot Ya" I still consider them songs with disses in them. Growing up being a teen in that era (1994-1996) Westcoast vs Eastcoast Rivalry. The labels were at war more than the artist were BadboyRecords vs Death Row Records
Both the takeover ether no Vaseline hit him up the ripper strikes again second round knockout all have choruses m&m fans will bring it up all the time I'm a fan of Eminem but if you can't got them on this one
@@therealmonkie75 but that's a song with disses lol, people aren't understanding that a DISS track is straight to the point, use as much of the beat as you can, no hooks qnd DEFINITELY no auto tune lol. A SONG is devided up into parts, that yes, can have disses in them
The whole beef stems from a tweet MGK tweeted about Halie being hot while she still was under age! And you know Em don’t let anything said about Halie fly without retaliation….. Talking about Ems family on a track is career suicide
Respect the try but he didn't put out a diss track as I cannot call rap devil a diss track. This is a good song it has a killer beat n sounds like a hit that u can bump in the car or club but diss tracks aren't songs. The structure of each is different and MGK doomed himself worrying about making it a hit rather than a legit diss.
The timeline as i understand it, going by the interview that Eminem did, and the ones MGK did. 2012 when MGK was 22 he said hailie was hot (she was under age) Eminem's people contacted MGK to take it down and apologise, but Eminem didn't know about it himself, they were doing it on his behalf as they know he doesn't like people disrespecting his daughter. A year later he sees stuff about it on youtube is pissed, but forgets about it because MGK isn't really anybody. MGK refuses to apologise, but does take the tweet down. He stated that he did not blackball MGK from shade45, but that there are just better artists and only so much time on the air, MGK just hadn't come up as an option. March 2018 MGK sneak disses Eminem in "No Reason (The Mosh Pit Song)", a Tech N9ne song. Tech N9ne has stated he did not know that MGK put a sneak diss against Eminem in it, and that he was blindsided when he heard Not Alike. August 2018 Eminem releases Kamikaze with Not Alike, and calls MGK out on sneak disses. September 3rd 2018 MGK releases Rap Devil (I have heard he had it prepared, and I feel like that is likely with the time it would take to make a video and edit it even as simple as this is) September 14th 2018 Eminem drops Killshot September 20th 2018 MGK goes on the breakfast club, tried to pretend he "obviously won" while even people who want to blow smoke up his ass look on skeptically, and MGK says he has a second diss ready but after he heard killshot he felt it didn't even need a response, aka MGK's second track sucked so much he realised that he couldn't release it after killshot, otherwise if you truly thought you won and already had something recorded you would put it out just to bury them. October 2018 MGK releases a new cd and his sales have taken a deep drive, he is still pretending Eminem is a bully when MGK started everything and has brought it all on himself. 2020 MGK leaves rap and drops a pop cd where he sings about "kissing in the bleachers" so I guess he is still going for the underage girls vibe This might be off, not 100% sure on some of the dates, but I refuse to know even one more thing about MGK so I am not looking into this any further. Hope that helps
@@CliffBeatsOfficial for sure! also if you wanna check it out, I forgot at the time but Eminem takes a few more shots in Gnat. (2020) I love how he never lets things go
MGK did come with the bars I would have to say but Eminem’s response video was the best by far. Eminem is the king of the diss track for sure and u just shouldn’t use his daughters name for any reason. 🤘💯
“I just wanna punch a hole through his chest the way he acts”. Please do Cliff, we’ll all be your alibi or club together to post bail. The man’s a bellend.
This doesn't even compare to 'Not A like'. This here is okay at best , more catchy than anything. The problem here is all the discredited things or the things taken out of context, followed up by compliments. He tried, but I will give him credit. He got people talking enough to cause a reaction in the game.
The issue is he keeps praising Em. "You have a Grammy. You're the goat. Go back to your great albums. You were my idol." That's not how rap battles happen. This was more getting his 15 minutes.
That’s what I try to explain to MGK fans but it’s like beating your head against the wall. From a songwriters perspective it’s not bad. But if we are talking a diss record, this is hardly a diss. More of a cry for attention. 🤷♂️
MGK had hooked up with Halsey around that time, so that's who he was referring to at the end of the song. And react to BAD HUSBAND by Eminem. and if you want to listen to another dude that has made his fair share of diss tracks, check out The Jokerr.
Thank you you are the first reactor to say all this I want to become a reactor but because all this stuff is so Play-Doh and I already know call the contradictions MGK's has done in the song but I've never heard anybody else say it so thank you seriously like in the part when he says on Flex anybody could get it I didn't know it would be you well if anybody can get it why couldn't it be Eminem that's another contradiction I'm glad you caught them all thank you
Yeah, but considering how hard Em came at him a response to a diss track isn’t the place to compliment the man dissing you. The point of a diss track is to diss them, not compliment them. If Em started giving Kelly compliments in the middle of Killshot it would have been the same thing. Weird.
Id get acknowledging em has influence, some skill etc, but mgk just went too far for a diss, literally saying hes a GOAT and one of his idols, he could easily solve it with smt like "Yeah you say youre the goat but I'm the gunner..." which was a funny twist but instead he says acknowledges hes a GOAT meaning he agrees with it, youre literally saying the person youre trying to diss is better than you, that and the way he made the diss took away the support from ppl who are aware of how disses and battles are usually made (chorus, auto tune, complimenting etc) and made the rest of the bars who might've otherwise hit nicely kinda hit mid while em on the other hand has experience to give away in a yard sale in disses and battle rap so his response was obv going to be top knotch lyrically, it was a shame rly it was a good try on mgk's part and he had more than enough ammo on em, not like em's exactly clean
Pre story as I've heard it 6 years before the beef MGK made comments about Haley being attractive when she was like 17 and Em for obvious reasons didn't like it. Instead of addressing it then, Em supposedly barred MGK from Sway, and put out word that MGK wasn't welcome in the industry, limiting where MGK could be promoted stunting his career. MGK got pissed because he didn't know Hailey was 17 and was supposedly trying to complement her, but did it in a way that dumb young men tend to do. He apologized, but the MGK embargo stayed in place. MGK went from being a huge Stan to being resentful. He did I believe two freestyles (please react to them!) Where he threw shots at Em, but nothing major. The embargo stayed and Em didn't respond. Finally MGK did the song with Tech (mosh pit) and that got Em's attention, probably more because the association with Tech than the actual diss, but tech did come out saying he didn't know it was a diss at Em when he published. Then after all that Not a like came out and there was finally an Em shot at MGK. MGK responded with Rap Devel where he is basically saying yes you're a great poet, but not a man, you won't say it in front of me, and he has used his industry connections to figuratively take food out of his daughters mouth instead of confronting him. Then Em comes back with a poetic masterpiece. My very unpopular opinion is Em missed the assignment completely though, MGK says Em is a master with the pen, but he's all bark no bite. He needs to call other men to protect him and he uses backhanded tactics to address problems instead of confronting someone and handling the situation. MGK basically says your a good writer but not a man and Em responds I am a great writer. Idk my 2 cents
I get what mgk is saying but em was gangster back in the day wasn't scared to throw down and surrounded by killers. Em pistal whipped one of the guys from icp from hitting on Kim. Of course he's old now and wiser and sober not about that life anymore but em is no scared punk.
MGK was talking about being with Halsey who was talking to G-Eazy at the time, so he was saying he's been messing with Halsey, don't make him call Kim. But what a nasty ass line, doesn't make him look very good.. when this entire beef started over MGK commenting that Em's daughter was hot, while she was 16
Everybody thought that Kim line was soooo hard. But I don't think so, do people really think Em would be bother by that? It'snot like their together anymore haven't been for nearly two decades.
I feel like MGK was working on this song for years, waiting for Eminem to take a shot. He didn't really address Ems bars from Not Alike...Kill Shot replied to every like from Rap Devil.
Yo I came back to watch this after all the new beef with the game and I watched this 1st and I just seen that you said as long as he lives in a shadow and I can not wait to watch you react to Eminem's now because of that line that he says as soon as I was like oh shit wait till he years that line because you literally just said it and I don't know if you heard that you know what I mean cause it's so far back I don't know if you've already heard that line but that's like the biggest one for me and I just love it but I think this is way better than the game beef but like I love watching your reviews
This was the best thing that happend in rap for a long time and you can t disagree on that . Even Em said this wasn t bad . I am a huge MgK fan and that happend because of this song . And yeah .. em lirycally killed MGK but only people that are rap educated know that . Em bars are so complicated that are flying over 95 % of the people s heads . Calling MGK a mumble rapper . For real ? That was a HUGEEEE miss by Em . MGK can spit hard . One example is Breaking News . Just one . And for the ones saying Em made him switch genres ? For real ? Hotel Diablo was one of the best albums of the year . The quarantine shit was fire as fuck + some platinum punk album + he has another rap album on the way . The boy is killing it after that diss . Switching to punk and getting all the awards he s gettin ? How many people do that ? Put some respect on this man s name and don t be Stans . He may not be at Em s level ... fuck not even close to NF but the man is a big name in the industry with a huge fanbase and shit tone of awards Love your reactions bro . Greetings from Romania
@@baylorlandry7650 I think you should read what i said again. I didnt say he ruined mgks career. i said "he has ruined careers" never said anything about him ruining mgks.
Came back to this after hearing The Game's diss, this is a comparative masterpiece! MGK may have lost this war but at least he came out swinging hard. The Game made a 10 min mess with 1 min of solid bars and 9 mins of filler...
No,what he's saying is Eminem had taken action towards trying to shelf him and keep him off radio shows..and he said that right after the line about his verse on Yelawolfs album.. making sure he didn't get his hands in that trying to stop that too. MGK hit some real shit..he is not as clever or metaphorical or as insane with words as Em but he made real points Eminem ignored. MGK held his own and bigger than he was before. And he didn't switch genres because of Eminem..he was already making similar music.
@@Luke26945 hey yeah knowing the whole back story and more specifically the rap devil response, Eminem didn't say nothing about banning him from the radio station how Paul Rosenberg called and and told him to take down the tweet how all the behind the scenes stuff maybe Eminem actually didn't have anything to do with but he didn't step in and say hey don't do that hey don't do this MGK addressed how he tried to blackball him from the industry and nobody really knows whether or not that's true but if you look at it and follow the story it kind of seems that way like MGK was doing his thing and there was no reason why Eminem should have had any bad thing to say about him other than I guess the initial comment towards his daughter but that was it he apologized for it and that was it but to demand he take it down and demand and apology and and all that stuff and then try to ban them from the radio station and take him off people's albums and s*** like I don't know we don't know if any of that is true but he addressed it and rap devil and Eminem said nothing about it in kill shot. Doing another track on tech N9ne and doing another like sneak dissing or he was asking for it and he's one of the only artists to successfully fight back that Eminem's Not destroyed I mean you can say he switched genres or he's doing some crazy stuff now but he's still successful and he didn't kill him so.
@@tre07reactions he did address the part about Em trying to shelf him, "one call to interscope and you Swayze". He didn't address the part about taking him off of Yelawolfs song because as we saw later he was still on Rowdy. In the Sway interview he even said he dissed him originally because of the subs on Techs song and the tweet that followed the song. The only thing he actually did was blackball him from Shade45 and since it's his station he has the right to do it in my opinion. I totally respect MGK for coming at Eminem the way he did, and honestly he did better than anyone else. I'm a fan of old MGK as well. Overall, I'm just happy we had this whole thing happen because it seemed to give Eminem a chip on his shoulder again that everyone wanted to hear.
@@Luke26945 yeah that's for sure and it definitely put MGK on a on a path to being more successful than he's been in the past regardless of what he's doing so yeah no I feel like he addressed it but maybe the whole like trying to shelf him and using his manager to address him and then Eminem had to do his own interview to defend himself I was kind of weird to me but no I feel everything you're saying that's that's kind of spot on. I appreciate the conversation. And I have no idea why he went on that tech N9ne song apparently tech N9ne had no idea which was kind of underhanded so I'm not a big fan of new MGK stuff but I've been following him for a long time I was a big fan of his old music and I think if he put out another rap album he'd still kill it.
You don’t mention Eminem’s daughter’s name in a song without expecting a battle. I can’t believe Diddy approved it tbh. They knew what they were doing, but it backfired.
Honestly, this was an amazing attempt by MGK. He made some fatal mistakes but I was impressed at his decision to attack from such a unique angle knowing he was up against the best and going to get destroyed
@@seigeengine not in the least....can you really tell me you weren't subconsciously longing for Em to bury someone to keep benzino and ja rule company? I'd hardly call it a bad choice from where I stand

@@yabodabodooo644 Yeah, but I'd actually listened to a couple of his songs before this. I don't even know what he's doing now. Is a pet groomer or something?
He is referring to a test he made in 2012 about Haley, and Em didn’t say anything about him for all that time. But admitted he knew about it, just did nothing about it.
This will get lost, the thing is MGK put this out "Music Video" out 2 days after Kamikaze dropped. Eminem waited almost a month to respond. The "stop the money to support her." goes back to the being shelved under the Interscope label from 6 years ago when he made the comment about Haley J. Halsey and G-Easy were "dating" and MGK hit it, for the last line.
OK...just some info....beat for this and Killshot....same producer.....also...writing credits on this song go to Colson (MGK) and Cordea.....so in ems response he used the same producer, which is why a lot of people think ems rebuttal is this beat in reverse.....its not....its the same guy.......and em fucks with Cordea, clearly from killer remix and Cordea album......it just is wut it is.....MGK....Lost to his Idol....and switched genres.....its not the quadratic equation.....its pretty algrebra......Em= 2...MGK =y.....solve for y.......2x+y=0......Em wins....no matter how u solve.....EM WINS
One thing I’d like to point out is you said em was from the street streets but what does that mean because mgk had a similar upbringing which made him a fan of em hense the GOAT references you can’t write a diss and say em ain’t top 5 or 10 when he is, the best thing about this beef was he finally got respect
There was a lot of contradictions in this now that I'm listening to it again years later, he says that there's nothing Eminem can do to him but then complain saying that Eminem was doing stuff that caused him not to put food in his daughter's mouth, lmao
I like MGK. I LOVE Em. Mgk had one of the better disses against em. Top 3 in my opinion. But even that means nothing knowing who he went against and what happened next. Mgk did the best he could hope for. There were some good punches. But the compliments...
I don't see how making a bad taste tweet is equivalent to using your influence to prevent someone from gaining opportunities their own hard-work should have earned them. Hopefully no-one takes anything on Twitter from 99% of celebs as anything more than some low brow-marketing ploys (whether he was serious when he said or it was intended as a joke or not) especially not someone as smart and well versed in the marketing/game as Em. I can only speak for me personally, and i don't use Twitter. But everyone on that website is constantly talking shit, and far worse than calling someone's daughter hot. (and yes i get that her being 16 makes that creepy ASF) but it's Twitter, no opinion on it should be taken seriously. If someone at least called me directly over some shit i said on a website like that, i could likely respect that. But when you start calling around to your peeps and having them reach out to me, yeah i wouldn't put much respect on that. This does also feed into MGK's line about "Damn, can anyone else get some food in their mouths?" Since Em "blackballed" MGK from various avenues for him to do business/make money/exposure/etc. (Just to make this clear, in my world, i really don't care what opinion you spout about me, but you start interposing yourself on my ability to make money and an apology is the least i'm going to expect from you.) Other than I think your largely spot on. It was a stupid decision to take a shot at the GOAT, but it's also consistent with the way MGK is namely a wild ass dummy most of the time. He never stood a chance against Em, but he held his own better than most rappers out there today could.
I finally decided to watch this and I’m even more perplexed that this was released after not a like. MGK had a couple of good bars but Not a like was a massive flex vs this. What you said about the 4th verse is likely true as it doesn’t fit with the first 3. Not to say MGK couldn’t change it up (EM does it every 10 seconds lol) but I don’t remember that being MGKs style - his flow and even his delivery changed. It also seemed to be wittier vs the first 3.
With Mgk being such a big Eminem Stan, he forgot that once Em disses you, you become a permanent fixture in his lyrical mixture. 🤣🤣 he still getting shots to this day. I love to see it kmsl.
I would say that the diss tracks did do have like a hook or a chorus attached or more of an exception than the rule like it takes a certain level of greatness for someone to pull that off effectively...
The subliminal diss that eminem responded to was in 2018 called "No Reason" But i guess he's still upset that eminem was upset about eminem mentioning his daughter in 2012 kinda childish mentality. Honestly Em was like "wtf?" but left it alone in 2012 but a subliminal diss on a song with a friend of his em wasn't gonna let that go.
Whenever I watch this I cant help but just sit back and picture what it actually looked like when he filmed this. Picture him out there bouncing around acting all tough while lip syncing. Just a funny thought. Then all of the cuts so they stop and readjust the cameras and everything and call him back for another go lol. Before this stuff the only reason it would be Eminems fault MGK hadn't made it big is just existing. Having Eminem in the world is always going to outshine other rappers. Once you hear what he can do with a pen and flow anyone else is going to fall short in comparison but that's not a plan put in action he is just on a whole other level.
2:16 someone point it out that he is yelling at the truck which i can't unsee it. imo it was a good diss track which were pointed toward the fans then EMINEM himself. also there is a video goes to details like devil were created and banished by god: th-cam.com/video/LvCyu8NHFWo/w-d-xo.html ps:omg this guy pushed ex-ufc champion and lived to tell the tale
I'm personally a MGK fan, and a lot of the lines are not gonna be understood unless you know Em's and Colson's history and how it goes deeper than most think. I don't think either bodied either, and that's just my own opinion. I enjoy both artists and just love music for what it is as a whole, and I will also admit that Killshot is sooo good as well. They beat the hell outta each other.
After listening to Not Alike, then Rap Devil, then Killshot, it’s clearly your fan bias showing that you don’t think Em bodied MGK. That’s not to say MGKs diss was bad, but compared to Not Alike which is what he was responding to, it was a sub par diss. Then Killshot came and finished it off. MGK had some life in his diss, but he had just enough lines that didn’t hit to make it not not too close in my opinion.
@@princeofgreece9054 saying someone's biased when you don't know them personally is always funny, you can't say anything about someone else's thoughts or feelings but go off kid
4:05 nah the beef started with MGK making a comment about ems daughter in like 2012, and em trying to blackball MGK afterwards and finally releasing a diss years later on a surprise album
Nah, it actually started because MGK used tech n9ne to sneak a sub at him. MGK spent 8 years doing everything he could to get Ems attention. You are correct though, Eminem didn’t allow him on Shade45 after hitting on his underage daughter. Shouldn’t be hitting on 16 year olds when you’re in your 20’s 🤷♂️
@@CliffBeatsOfficial nah the song with tech came out years after they started having issues. MGK was 19, and made a dumb comment. That shit happens. He also stated in the tweet he meant it respectfully and called her beautiful, nothing profane. Em still waited years to say shit, and killshot was by far his weakest diss track ever. Definitely didn’t end his career considering you’re still reacting to his new music that’s constantly hitting #1 on trending.
@@chasemurphy489 “that ish happens”? You’re defending pedophilia? Eminem did an entire interview explaining what happened and the timeline. It’s pretty easy to find. As for Killshot or Rap Devil/ careers, what does that have to do with the original comment? No one mentioned anyones success or shortcomings.
@@CliffBeatsOfficial lmao no one is defending pedophilia. Kells was 19, and again he didn’t say anything gross/rude/profane. He said respectfully he thought she was beautiful and gave a shoutout to em calling him the goat. Em mentioned in multiple interviews the only reason he said anything was because of peer pressure, supposedly people were giving him shit for not clapping back at MGK. At the end of the day, MGK is making some of his best content while em is old and washed up.
@@chasemurphy489 you are delusional my friend. That’s not what he said at all lol. MGK said “f-ing hot” to a 16 year old and Eminem said the reason he made not alike was from the diss with Tech. Now I know you’re grasping at straws because you just lied twice. No one said anything about anyone’s success but you keep going back to that. I’m talking about the original comment and your straying away from what we were discussing. This is why I don’t have conversations on here because people make stuff up in their head. Maybe go rewatch those interviews? But then again hey 2+2=5 right? Please don’t make stuff up. Spreads false information.
its been five years since killshot and at the time regardless of everyone going at em mgk went hard but em went super saiyan on him rebutteld everything mgk said in 18 bars and then overkill but i respect mgk so much more for it
What makes this diss so good is that no one expected MGK to even rap this good this was one of his strongest tracks that really tested where his skill was at and sadly all the em fans gave MGK so much crap following this and then MGK lost so many friends and family Hotel Diablo his last rap album and his lowest point mentally MGK has a really crazy story honestly which is why I like MGK he is good but he isn't even the same rap style as em so it was already awkward em has a very complex flow
Not what I heard 🤷♂️. Heard they actually spent a few hours on the phone while MGK was in a locker room writing the 4th verse with Cordae. MGK’s flow patterns and delivery even change for the 4th verse. Sounds like a compilation of writers to me. Either way, props to the man for standing his ground. I can’t hate on that. 🙏
15:17 MGK said in a radio interview that after he sent the tweet then the conference call and he wouldn’t apologise, he found little roadblocks in his way in his career after that that he thinks were down to Em and team. 🤷♀️
The funny thing is MGK claimed he had a response to kill shot but said it wasn’t worth it lol than dropped his album that bombed lol now he makes rock music but in all honesty I like when MGK dropped laced up that album was fire 🔥 he has had some great hits in his time! But Em definitely won the battle period
So how do you ghost write? Do you write songs that anyone can use or do you like Taylor the songs by researching or talking to the artists? Never thought about this before
He said it because he black balled him. Can't go to shade 45, tried to shelf him, took his verse off yellow wolf's album wtf u mean? He was trying to stop his success. Let's gooo keep up
MGK definitely had some decent bars, but he is literally going after Em painting the picture like this is all because of the Haley tweets, when it was entirely about the sub diss with Tech N9ne. Also, the number of 'you're old' bars was pretty excessive for a battle, and it's honestly impressive that Em still is at the heights he is after so long (not to mention how much he keeps improving). I fuck with MGK, he killed that Whats Poppin remix last year, but this was weak. Picked the fight, painted it to be something it wasn't to make Em look petty (we all know he is already, it's old news), then came with weak relative bars, and worst of all did all of this so he could push that shit EP. I remember him doing Rap Devil when he opened for Fall Out Boy after this and got boo'd off stage. Childish shit like that is why he lost this battle so hard, it was all about exposure to him
According to em everything mgk said about hailey and em didn’t even hit em’s radar for years. Cause he doesn’t care about mgk or his career. You should check out the interview between sway and em.

With the food in your mouth line was in reference to the fact that Eminem was trying to Blackball him . In regardless to try Eminem dissed MGK with his response to this but his Killshot didn't exactly kill MGK'S career like em did with others he had dissed !
What I'd give to have been in the room with Em when he first heard this.

I agree my friend
He’s had a couple of solid things come out since the beef but I agree his best work was before 2018 as of right now. I thought Hotel Diablo was pretty good though. And his what’s poppin freestyle is the best I’ve heard on that beat.
I think MGKs best work happened before he signed to interscope with the 4 mixtapes than the year he made this diss track he fell off as a rapper now hes doing pop punk for 2 albums I wish he did a pop punk album and a rap album in the same year
If he took out the compliments and I didn't listen to killshot, I would actual think it's pretty good
Personally I think this is MGK's best song that he's ever done. But he fucked up
Great reaction Cliff! Can’t wait to watch your Killshot reaction now!
I also heard MGK didn’t write the last verse - I heard it was Cordae, Youngboy and Pete Davidson! (And Pete helped with the whole thing - which is maybe where some of the funnier lines came from!)
Don’t know how true that is though - I’ve nothing to back it up other than industry rumours!
Crazy that in 2024, Em ends his Houdini video with Pete Davidson jumping in his car and smashing up the city together....crazy how things work out 😂
I remember everyone going nuts when this dropped and just looking at them like "yea it's good but it's not enough"
It was waaayyyy more then enough
So this started in 2012 because MGK tweeted that Hailey was “hot” but she was 16 at the time. MGK claimed Em got him black balled off shade 45 and called puff and jimmy to get him kicked off interscope. Aside from that, I agree 100% with most of the reaction, MGK is nursery rhyming with a couple funny punches but he contradicted himself so many times, had school yard disses and elementary lines, on top of that with the auto tunes, the bridges, the singing hooks, just not fit for a “battle/diss track”
He actually said hailey was hot on sway too that's what got him booted from shade 45 I believe
U sound like a hater none of that shot was nursery rhymes lmfao 🤣 try better next time mgk is a lyricists don't get it twisted

Eminem is no where near in control of the music industry. He’s putting the blame of his rap career on Eminem. There are independent artists that have sold more than MGK that are white. If a rapper is blaming another rapper for their failed success, that says a lot about them.. 🤷♂️

The whole beef stems from a tweet MGK tweeted about Halie being hot while she still was under age!
And you know Em don’t let anything said about Halie fly without retaliation…..
Talking about Ems family on a track is career suicide
He's been saying since the beginning of the song how Eminem black balled him and tried to get him shelved.
Eminem wouldn’t let his song play on the radio and then called his producer for an apology. So yes he did blackball him
He wasn’t even on Em’s radar yet and is just blaming Em for his struggles

But you have to give it to him, there's 2 really good lines in this.
Most definitely have to respect it.
Respect the try but he didn't put out a diss track as I cannot call rap devil a diss track. This is a good song it has a killer beat n sounds like a hit that u can bump in the car or club but diss tracks aren't songs. “Can anyone else get some food in their mouth” As he’s eating cereal in the video
The timeline as i understand it, going by the interview that Eminem did, and the ones MGK did.
2012 when MGK was 22 he said hailie was hot (she was under age)
Eminem's people contacted MGK to take it down and apologise, but Eminem didn't know about it himself, they were doing it on his behalf as they know he doesn't like people disrespecting his daughter.
September 3rd 2018 MGK releases Rap Devil (I have heard he had it prepared, and I feel like that is likely with the time it would take to make a video and edit it even as simple as this is)
September 14th 2018 Eminem drops Killshot
September 20th 2018 MGK goes on the breakfast club, tried to pretend he "obviously won" while even people who want to blow smoke up his ass look on skeptically, and MGK says he has a second diss ready but after he heard killshot he felt it didn't even need a response, aka MGK's second track sucked so much he realised that he couldn't release it after killshot, otherwise if you truly thought you won and already had something recorded you would put it out just to bury them.
October 2018 MGK releases a new cd and his sales have taken a deep drive, he is still pretending Eminem is a bully when MGK started everything and has brought it all on himself.
2020 MGK leaves rap and drops a pop cd where he sings about "kissing in the bleachers" so I guess he is still going for the underage girls vibe
This might be off, not 100% sure on some of the dates, but I refuse to know even one more thing about MGK so I am not looking into this any further. Hope that helps

The issue is he keeps praising Em. "You have a Grammy. You're the goat. Go back to your great albums. You were my idol." That's not how rap battles happen. This was more getting his 15 minutes.

You can acknowledge someone being great at something and not be afraid of them, that's what he's affirming with the compliments.

Pre story as I've heard it
6 years before the beef MGK made comments about Haley being attractive when she was like 17 and Em for obvious reasons didn't like it.
Finally someone else actually gets it

Cause it's not true lol he's not important enough for him to care. If he wanted to, one call.
Wild that MGK had a waaayyy better diss than Game
The subliminal diss that eminem responded to was in 2018 called "No Reason"
But i guess he's still upset that eminem was upset about eminem mentioning his daughter in 2012 kinda childish mentality.
MGK really had bars
One thing that you're not getting is that after every compliment there's a diss. It's making him look good then contradicting it with the next line
2:16 someone point it out that he is yelling at the truck which i can't unsee it. imo it was a good diss track which were pointed toward the fans then EMINEM himself. also there is a video goes to details like devil were created and banished by god: th-cam.com/video/LvCyu8NHFWo/w-d-xo.html
ps:omg this guy pushed ex-ufc champion and lived to tell the tale
True the fact that they made it in songs wow is more than diss needs to be studied to be understood
Spreads false information.
its been five years since killshot and at the time regardless of everyone going at em mgk went hard but em went super saiyan on him rebutteld everything mgk said in 18 bars and then overkill but i respect mgk so much more for it
He was 28 at the time so he's adding like ten years to his life.
He had a ghost writer look it up
I know he did. I said that in the video 🙏
No, it didn’t happen 6 years ago. Mgk just tried to make Em look stupid. It didn’t work.
No cordae said to mgk that why wont you end this shit fire while there were 3 verses and then mgk wrote the 4th one
it started over a tweet mgk made about Hailey 6 yrs prior
15:17 MGK said in a radio interview that after he sent the tweet then the conference call and he wouldn’t apologise, he found little roadblocks in his way in his career after that that he thinks were down to Em and team. 🤷♀️
MGK said a lot of things that never happened. Like selling 20 million records in 2018 🤷♂️.
Ems career was built on ending others careers, ask Ja Rule. MgK killed this, even Em took it seriously.
Eminem had absolutely nothing to do with what happened to ja rule that was all 50 cent and feds
@@filthy0819 D12 made a diss track against Ja rule, if that counts?
@@Ranganation yes they did and it sucked
Free cliff
Let's gooo keep up
He wrote this song the night kamikaze came out and recorded the video the next morning. No help
I didn’t know they had an interview. I’ll look it up. I appreciate the background 🙏
the interview is a lie. He saw the tweet in 2012. EM straight up lied. think about how many people saw MGKs comment in 2012 and hashtagged EM to it?
@@ICP1SBJ thank you I'm an m&m fan but people are ridiculous the way they'll take anything Eminem says it does he knew and he was blocking him cuz you don't hold a kind of anger kills was holding if somebody wasn't doing that I bet you the stuff he said was true
With the food in your mouth line was in reference to the fact that Eminem was trying to Blackball him . In regardless to try Eminem dissed MGK with his response to this but his Killshot didn't exactly kill MGK'S career like em did with others he had dissed !
