Here is what you'll need!
Easy Homemade Potato Gnocchi
Servings: 2-3
INGREDIENTS
3-4 small or medium russet potatoes
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 egg
1-1½ cups flour
2 tablespoons of butter (for pan frying)
Sage (for pan frying)
PREPARATION
Add potatoes to a large pot of cool water. Bring the pot of water to a boil and boil potatoes for 20-25 minutes, or until a fork can easily poke through it.
Drain potatoes and allow to cool.
Using a peeler or your fingers, remove the skin of potatoes.
In a medium bowl, mash the potatoes until all lumps are gone.
Add salt and pepper to mashed potatoes and mix well.
Make a ring of the potatoes and crack an egg in the center.
Whisk the egg and lightly mix into the potatoes until evenly distributed.
Knead the dough, adding flour along the way until the dough loses stickiness and becomes a more solid mound.
Slice dough into 4 parts, take one part and roll it out into a long rope, about an inch wide.
Slice rope into ½-inch squares and set aside.
Using an overturned fork, you can slide each gnocchi square over the fork prongs so they become serrated in a corkscrew shape. Another way to shape the gnocchi is to simply press your finger into the gnocchi to form a small basin.
Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add the gnocchi. Boil until they float to the top, then remove.
In a pan over medium heat, melt butter and add sage.
Add gnocchi to pan with sage butter, toss until lightly golden on the outside.
Enjoy!

Jasmine gnocchi are the best
Jasmine just like love, you know you can never get your hands on them.
Ha ha soo romantic
I don’t like gnocchi tbh
I just made this, except I made a quick sauce of butter, olive oil, garlic, fresh basil, and sprinkled Parmesan on top AMAZING.
howd u make the sauce cuz i wanna try thag
andrea is the name she listed all of the ingredients..
but if you mean how.. I think 2 tbs butter and 1 tbs olive oil in a pan, 2 gloves of chopped garlic into the pan, make it sizzle.. ad the gnocchi.. mix it with the garlic and butter... sprinkle 2 or 3 leaves of freshly chopped basil on top, turn of the heat and sprinkle your parmesan cheese over your gnocchi
Add pesto into that sauce😉
Pesto? Lol
Really?! Mine was a monstrosity
Serious gnocchi love right there!
love your videos!
Donal Skehan solid, man.

Berthil Mathias Karlsen unsolved

I made this with a 1/3 less flour and they came out beautifully. For such quick instruction, it is one of the best and most concise I've found on TH-cam for making gnocchi. Thanks!
Finally a recipe that doesn't require oven! I'm making these! I'm making these! I'm making theeeeese!!!!
Tried this recipe today and it's soooooo good. I've always wanted to try gnocchi. Too bad I quadrupled the recipe for my huge family, I was stuck in the kitchen for hours 😭. Worth it tho 😂
About how many servings did it make for per recipe?
Honestly i just don't botter with the scoring. This makes me gain massive amounts of time
WHO PEELS A COOKED POTATO WITH A PEELER
edit:
guys what i meant was that you could literally peel the skin off a COOKED potato with your BARE FINGERS
same thing I was thinking tf lol
Phantyliner Dan yesss! My thoughts exactly!
for most recipes you do that but not for gnocchi because the peeled potato will absorb too much water
Tasty😂😂
Phantyliner Dan I admit I did
No, you're not the only one who watches but never make them. Stop asking for likes.
FINALLY SOMEONE GETS IT
Am i the only one who watches but never makes this? 😩👏👏👏
Jason Frost no, but I don't care because I don't live there.
MELUV MUNCHIES Finally
Okay.
As an Culinary Arts Student, I can confirm the fork pattern technique is harder than it looks. 👍

FINALLY SOMETHING FROM TASTY THAT I CAN ACTUALLY MAKE!!
As an italian i can say these gnocchi are pretty good
Too much flour tho
@Matt Coss more flour = more chewy
I made it. Somehow, I only just learned that this food exists yesterday so I knew I had to try it. Very good.
Awesome I have watched several video but this video has 2 ways of shaping gnocchi.Loved it.
Thank you.
Tried this with a homemade spicy garlic sauce with spinach. It was perfect!
I love gnocchi!! They are delicious, I cook mine in olive oil and I let them be a little bit more golden brown, Yum! 😍😍💜
Omg, you guys are so talented. You can cook really well and get amazing camera angles, also you have music that fits really well. 😄👍👍
Ugh I love Gnocchi. They're so good.
made this. Tastes great. One word of advice though, pre-peel the potatoes and use a bit more flour than recomended.
Iris Leung thats why you dont pre peel, cuzz the potatoes suck up to much water, leave skin on and use less flower, (italian hack:just put some pecorino romano in the dough to make it come together better and more delicious)
this is a fantasic italian recipe, and you ve done it perfectly!
these looks simple and they are... but requires time, loads... and love gnocchi with the bolognese...mmmm
i like it with basil tomato sauce , mozzerale cheese and some pamesan. I place in the over for couple minutes. it tastes amazing
Gnocchi with bolognese an italian would roast you over a spit, a tomato sauce okay but a meat sauce like bolognese no way
I LOVE Gnocchi with marinara sauce loads of parmesan and garlic bread...yummm
we made this in culinary when i was in highschool, sooo good
Will make these on Tuesday. I usually bought them but it's seems so easy to do, I have to try to make those.
Thanks Tasty.
As a 14 year old, this was perfect and easy to make
good job! that's exactly how italians make gnocchi ;)
no it is not
Simon Will come li fai te?
ovviamente l'uovo é una variante, ma per i loro standard é gia buono
Bartman 9919 although im not italian i can tell that they used too much flour... which they did because the potatoes werent dry enough
Simon Will Yes, I undeestand, but at least they didn't put ceddar o chololate on it
Perfect content! straight to the point and Well done!
thank u veeeeeeeeery much.i found the cookbook link.many praises and thanks
first time i made my own gnocchi and i followed this exact recipe... girllllll. hmm even the picky kids ate ! thanks
Gnocchi is my comfort food
mine too. try it with basil tomato sauce and mozzerala cheese. u will love it
I watched this video after watching the video from their tasty 101 series and I think it just shows how much tasty has improved. The tasty 101 series pays so much detail yo the gnocchi and so different from this recipe.
فكرة 💭 ووصفة مميزه تستحق التجربة
good job buzzfeed you actually made a recipe that's close to the original one
Simple and easy. Good job.
Thank you for the recipe🌷
Have used this recipe several times now for copycat Olive Garden Gnocchi Soup. It works very well, the only problem being that the methods they use for making them into pretty shapes do not work for me and it leaves a very large mess to clean up after. I am not personally a huge fan of gnocchi, but both my sister and parents like it, meaning it's great!
Looks really easy. I'm going to try it.
Just would like to let y'all know that if you do not let your mashed potatoes drain any liquid before you add anything to them your gnocchi will fall apart. wrap them in a paper towel and apply some weight to them to squeeze out the moisture.
Как я люблю такие ролики без НЕНУЖНОЙ БОЛТОВНИ! Сразу к делу. Receipts without talking perfect!
This is a yummy recipe
I've been seeking this for a longgggggggggggggggg time!!!
hello friend. i am muslim. i love ur all recipes. please make zinger burger. please please please. Thank you
Gnocchi = most underrated pasta ever
You lost me when you used a stainless steel utensil on a Teflon pan.
Amazing video . Congratulations .
Made this today and it was amazing
tasty is soooooo good
Anyone else got the feeling that at 1:10 they kinda gave up on the fork thing and just went with making finger dimples to save time and effort? :D
I'm pretty sure that's the reason 😂😂😂
I just made this recipe. I made a couple of changes - I used a ricer because my grandmothers and Mother always did. I used my thumb to make little indentations in the little pillows just like they used to. But other than that, I used this recipe for the gnocchi. I made fresh pesto this morning from my homegrown basil for the sauce. I made the gnocchi to give to my daughter so she won’t have to cook on Tuesday. Monday is her birthday. I had to try it first. It is fabulous! I am particular about my gnocchi too. I like it very light and fluffy and this was! My family found a way to cut the prep time for gnocchi by using potato flakes. It honestly tastes very good too but this is amazing! I am experimenting with freezing part of it. Not going to lie, it took a bit of work to make but lots of time these days due to lockdown. Thank you!
Ronnie the Limo Driver: Guh-nawchee!! Hey-oo!
I made this and this came out very good 😊
I made these once. Love them gnocchi
love me some gnocchi!
Love the gnochis, (ñoquis for the spanish-argentinian spelling)
but I have a burning question
Did you guys just use a metal spatula on a nonstick pan? It hurts just to watch...
I feel ya!😖😫
I was looking for this comment, thank you
I just made this and it is so good!!!

potato pasta my fav
I just buy the 99c package. Does 2 meals, no bs ingredients (from what I can tell). It's super quick, just make or add some kind of sauce
Works for me
Beautiful looking Gnocchi and easy simple recipe.

me gusta.intento haserlo
Delicious!
I actually might make this
I'm cooking them and it's so cool, I'm about to finish my tomato sauce
I like your video awesome good job I give you thumbs up 😉😊🤫🤫🤫
Luvs a bit of gnocchi
I always bake the potatoes in the skin, this way no need for this much flour. and browning them a little more adds a nice flavor
beautiful
I have been waiting for this! my favourite food
Best thing is to eat the dish that you just made while watching the same video
No sweat, no gnocchi.
Looks too yum
whos here in quarantine because they have nothing to do and want to try something new?
yummy yummy
so early and definitely goona make this in my spare time
Delicious
The most unusual way to peel potatoes. if you boiled it, soak them in freezing water, hold them up tight twist them in opposite direction. Viola! Peeled potatoes in a second.
If I could, I'd live on gnocchi
pardon my ignorance, but what's the difference between peeling the potatoes before boiling them, compared to the other way around?
Why is this my homework of my English academy?
yummy
Awesome
In Poland we call them "kopytka" 😊
This is so delicious!I don't knew that it is called gnocchi!I thank that it is potato bombs😂Thanks for the recepe!Sorry if my English is so bad!
I didn't know**
I thought **
Recipe **
Can you plesss say me which flour you use for this dish
Yummy
YES PLEASE THAT'S REALLY ITALIAN, YES!
You have a nice peeler
Wow great video! Ty so much for making this recipe! Ignore the trolls you will go far
so, can the extra potato dough (pota-dough?) be stored in the fridge or something?
Is it better to peel potatoes before or after theyve been baked? Or does it not matter
Mind blowing lovly
which flour??
En mi país, Argentina, comemos ñoquis (como los llamamos aquí) los días 29 de cada mes, excepto en el mes de febrero ; )
Good
so easy
I'll cut the dough very thin and fried it... That's will turn gnocchi into chips right?
Very goood
