I have the same feeder. No need to waste electricity on heating water and then refrigerating to cool it again (warms up your fridge). Just dilute the sugar in room temp water and stir for 30 seconds. The sugar water warms up in the sun anyways.

Food coloring and dye is not good for anyone or anything unless its plant based and not repurposed diluted clothing dye

From one travelling hummingbird lover to another, here's a tip we've been having fun with! Take those little hand feeders on trips with you when you travel to "hummingbird" countries. You can have experiences like this! th-cam.com/users/shortsUDTbgOn8LjY

You probably know this by now, but they actually make a little face-mask-like thing (imagine those shields that dentists sometimes wear that fits around their head and then has a clear shield that come down over their face to protect them from splashes, etc) where there is a 2-way mirror that fits over your face. You can see through it perfectly, but the hummingbirds can only see photos of flowers that are painted on the see-thru "mirror". Then, attached to the shield if a feeder with sugar water. So, you just sit very still and the hummingbirds will come right up to your face- an inch or two from your eyes and nose- and feed on the sugar water. Its so cool to be so close to them as the hoover. You hear their wings beating almost like a bee. cool stuff. Just google something like "Hummingbird face mask" and you'll find places to buy them.

Sooo random but you should make a video of all of the hostels you stayed at while travelling for a year and maybe tell us if you recommend it. It's hard to find a lot of info on hostels on the other side of the globe. xx

    - As a kid, I stood next to a hanging humming bird feeder...my nose was literally 2 inches away from the artificial flower. The birds eventually came and drank. They key, I found out, was to not move. When they hover, they are looking for super small motions. If they see us move, they are gone. If we sit with our head leaned agains a wall or something, our body doesn't move, and we look like a tree or something lol.
Countless times, I had the wingtips and wind hit me in the face as they flew. Cool stuff. Try paining the inside of your ear red if you want a truly loud experience 😂

That’s so awesome! Are you planning on making anymore traveling to other countries videos?

Even though they didn't show up, this is a bad ass video. I am actually an ornithologist, I study eagles in the desert in Southern California, so I love hummingbirds. I am an inspiring travel vlogger, and you inspire me! Found your channel because I am going to the full moon party in Thailand next month and found your tips!
