- Day two in Finland and we're at Herkkules in Porvoo taking on a challenge which is hopefully as tasty as it is weird-looking...
Diners get one sitting (no bathroom breaks) in which to finish two plates worth of sausages, meatballs, eggs, bacon, kebab meat, pork schnitzel, crinkle cut fries, cucumber salad, onions, a double cheeseburger and a drink of choice...if you can sink it, you win one of their coveted Herkkules winner's t-shirts!

Love how you were really respectful and continuously expressed how much you liked the food despite doing a hard food challenge. It really shows the chef your appreciation and that their food is good.
Yeah except for the fact he asked to have the tv turned off just for his benefit of the video meanwhile all the other customers just had to deal with it lol. Don't see that as respectful but ok

It's not a sports bar with people crowding to watch a game, and the proprietors are fully within their right to just say no. It's no different from me asking them to turn down the volume.

My favorite youtuber was here in Finland and no one told me? Man.. Anyway, this made me so happy I'm even going to forgive you not knowing the Moomins (and calling them hippos which is considered a great sin) haha. I can't even explain how much joy it gives me to see you drinking my childhood favourite muumi-limu! Thank you Adam for making my day a little better once again.

The moomin soda is the one thing I always buy when in Finland. We do have them from time to time here in Sweden but they are rarely found.
Not sure how he doesn't know The Moomins. It was a pretty popular kids show in the UK when i grew up in the 90s lol.

I've never had Falukorv, but looks like Lenkki (makkara). Doesn't seem to be on the Herkkules plate tho.
I'm from Finland and I can confirm that our restaurants/diners are sometimes eerily quiet 😅

Loving the Finland trip! Every Finn I have known was genuine, warm, and slight crazy in the best way. And this looked like a pretty solid challenge - one of those where I think "I could probably put a good dent in that..." but then I realize that the burger alone would probably put me out of commission.

I have to say i love all your videos but i have really been enjoying your finnish adventure so far. I worked with a lady from Finland at a newspaper for numerous years and she was way cool and made me want to go visit there. I like the dude who is your guide seems like a cool dude. Nice to see you in a brand new environment and always cool to see the sights you show and the different cuisine that other countries offer. Way to go beard. Catch you on the flipside.

Hope you enjoyed my hometown! Would have been lovely to meet you, were I aware of the visit to Finland! There's another eating challenge right by at Lehtimäen Grilli, in which you eat a pizza box of Sausage and chips, though for you, they might have to prepare two. You know, in case you revisit.

@@boydegg One of the Moomin stories is literally about them being kidnapped by the zoo because they are mistaken to be runaway hippos. They are later rescued by Snufkin, Hemul and Little My who have procured a scientific certificate which confirms that they are indeed just moomins.

You make it look so easy to eat all of this, then I go and have like a normal size hamburger and I'm full. It's truly amazing what you're able to do and your upbeat attitude is wonderful.
I recall watching him do "Everything on the Taco Bell menu" and thinking "I could go for some Taco Bell". The next time I was in town I stopped and got Nachos Grande, Quesadillas and a Burrito Supreme. I ate the nachos and half the burrito and finished the rest off the next day. 😂

I always fly through Finland on my way to Greece, that’s my only experience with the people- and I know the airport & airport hotel is not the perfect exemplary of the population, but I always described them as the weirdest nice people ever lol. They were all very intimidating to me, looked mean, acted slightly socially awkward, but then were always unexpectedly nice lol.
Yea we rarely smile for no reason or say anything just to talk. Busses, metro, restaurants etc are real quiet as well. It takes a while for us to open up, but after that we are real honest and open about our lives. And yea we are very polite

You can find pretty much the same desserts than in other western countries. Maybe slightly different variations, but for the most part, it's the same.
The more "exotic" things you find in Finland come in different varieties of desserts that include berries since different types of berries are common in Finnish forests.
It's crazy how easy you make these challenges look. At no point does it look like you are struggling in any of your videos. You are a human marvel,sir.

Another entertaining clip from Beard! A great ambassador for England, always polite & respectful wherever he goes. Good to see him in Finland, a country not many of us know much about. I know it was settled by Hungarian immigrants a few hundred years ago & with a mix of Hungarians & indigenous Finnish, it's become a unique culture, neither Scandinavian or Baltic! I have great respect for the Finns, a peaceful nation & a fair nation. They have passed laws to provide everyone, whether unemployed or working full-time with the same average benefits payments. It means those who have behaved responsibly with money throughout their lives, saved before they bought, worked full time etc will not be forced to pay for those irresponsible people who do not work or fritter their wages away each week.
