For Texas that is a snow storm. lol Where I live in MN, we had two "WINTER" storms more than a week, total of both around 14 inches and not much melting so far. Lots of ice. Very uncommon to get that much snow that early in October.

Isn’t that one of the reasons we live here? It is for me! I survived the horrible 3 day long blizzard of 1978 in the northern part of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula, where over 52 inches of snow “blew” after falling. I was out guarding nuclear weapons loaded B-52’s in the Alert Area of the now CLOSED Wurtsmith A.F.B. The snow eventually built up to meet the bottom of the wings of the giant bombers. The snow removal teams were unable to keep the runways, taxiways and the opening to the alert aircraft ramp clear. It was impossible to taxi the aircraft let alone launch them, thus making their mission moot. We were ordered to abandon our posts and we all climbed into a Duce and a Half in an attempt to make it to the safety of our aircraft hanger where we “mounted up” it is where we kept our armory and Security offices. The trip which normally would take 5-10 minutes took us an hour. We had to have two men walk in front of the truck to guide the driver so he did not drive off the taxiway into the drainage ditches on either side of the paved surfaces. It didn’t get much better for days as we had to dig out all our P.O.V.’s (privately owned vehicles) out of the parking lot. Most were completely covered. Everything had to be dug out by hand (with shovels) i.e. all the sidewalks connecting the dozens of barracks with the chow hall, rec. hall, gym...all the things needed because we were trapped on the base as the town outside the base “Oscoda” was still covered in snow.
Then there was a totally different smaller blizzard that I nearly froze to death standing up on post. I remember dreaming/hallucinating that I was laying on a beach in Florida (where I lived my teens) the tingling in my fingers and toes was the warmth of the sun kissing my body...anyway, I woke up sitting in the passenger side of a truck with the heater blasting with my supervisor informing me that he discovered me curled up on the concrete of the tarmac with my M16 tucked under my body. It took two men to get me into the truck. Did they take me to the hospital for a check up for possible frost bite? No. Did they take me to the Security Hanger for rest and warmth? No! They put my ass out of the truck right back out on the very same post where they found me freezing to death.
Needless to say I did my four years (all horrible bases, MI, SD and a remote in Turkey) got the hell out swearing an oath to never, EVER live where I would go through that again. I ended up in the Las Vegas area, then CA. Now I live in Texas having fled the socialism dystopia of Jerry Brown and now Gavin Newsom. God bless Texas and May she resist the destruction of our Republic.

Believe it or not, this might be the most important post you'll read
Everyone of us has broken God's moral law, the Ten Commandments. We have all lied, stolen, hated and lusted. And James 2:10 states that breaking one of the Commandments makes us guilty of breaking them all. Problem is, we can never outweigh our sins through good works because the Creator is perfect in Holiness, meaning His standard is far above ours. And He is also perfect in Justice, meaning not a single sin will go unpunished. And the punishment of sin is being cast into hell, where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth with no end. Ever.
Fortunately, God is also perfect in love, so 2000 years ago, Jesus Christ left His throne in Heaven and came to this earth as a man. He lived a perfect, sinless life and He so loved us, that He took the punishment of our sin, when He suffered horribly on the cross. Isaiah 53 tells us that his face was marred beyond recognition and that he suffered more than any man. But right before His death, Jesus said "It is finished" meaning the the debt for our sins was paid in full. But on the 3rd day, Jesus conquered death and He was resurrected. So that means now, we can go free from the wrath of God's judgment not by earning it, but rather as a free gift of grace, if you accept Jesus. But, a gift can either accepted or rejected.
So if you want to accept the free gift or forgiveness, of grace, and of salvation, this is what you should do:
Humbly admit to God that you have sinned against Him, and through gratitude in the sacrifice of His Son, repent (turn away) from your old sinful ways. Then, confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, your Savior. Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross, was buried, and was resurrected 3 days later. Roman's 10:9 and 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 says that if you do this you are saved. I'm not telling you to get religious, because Christianity is not a religion, but a relationship with God.
And the moment you do this, God will grant you a new heart, which does not take pleasure in sin and He will give you eternal life. Nothing on this earth even close to compares to what awaits believers.
What you do with this information will determine where you will be for Eternity; meaning accepting Christ is the single most important decision you'll EVER make. And all of us here, believer or atheist, know that this is very true.
Jesus Christ wants YOU to come to Him this very moment; don't even think about sleeping until you have accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior, because your tomorrow isn't guaranteed. You could die at any moment. Hebrews 9: 27 "It is appointed unto man once to die, but after this, the Judgment."
All praise and honor to Jesus Christ, King of kings, Lord of lords.:)
