Hey I saw your camcoder video! I just love the old retro look of a VHS camera or any video camera from the 1960 to the later 90s'. I just wanted to ask if you know how to get old VHS camera repaired. I have an old VHS camera myself but I cant seem to get it repaired.

Hi you have tons of beautiful footage, and I was wondering what you use to convert your footage

Nice video! I have the AKAI model of this one, the VS-9500. I have replaced the belts already and will get a replacement for the cassette lamp. I have the manual for the JVC HR-3330 and I was wondering if the original lamps in the JVC's are the same ones as in the Akai and Ferguson models?

I think so. They aren't very picky about the bulb. I have used a 286 dashboard bulb before and it has worked fine. I think you could even put a low value resistor in and it would work (obviously wouldn't detect the end of the tape).

@@nowt1002 Do you maybe know what the requirements of a replacement lamp must be? I have read it must be 12v, but are there other things I need to look at? I have found lamps that could fit but they don't have the same values in mA and W

It's supplied from a 12v rail so it needs to be rated for at least 12v. Pretty much any that will fit should work. It just needs to pass enough current to turn on the transistor it drives via an 8.2k resistor as well as feeding the 68 ohm resistor in series with it and be bright enough for the phototransistors to pick it up. What bulbs are you looking at? The 286 capless bulbs for car dashboards work and are cheap but you do have to fit it to the existing wire which is a bit of a faff.
