    The reason I cut segments from each reaction is because if I don’t, the entire video gets blocked. It sucks. I can either post 60-80% of the reaction, or I can post NO reaction. It is what it is. I’m saving the full reactions in case I decide to post them on dailymotion or patreon. Until then, segments will continue to be cut. And before anyone says that other reactors have posted full reactions on TH-cam, I’m not other reactors. I don’t know how they managed to do it. I’ve tried to mute the segments and keep the footage in. I’ve tried distorting the video. I’ve tried chopping thd video and keeping the audio. I’ve tried probably over a dozen methods to keep the content in. Nothing has worked. Because of this, I will continue to cut the segments that I have to. It sucks, but it is what it is.

      I hear ya. YT is funny with this stuff. But please post the full videos to either Patreon, Rumble or somewhere else. I'd pay a couple of bucks, sure others would as well. These reaction videos are great, they've brought the humor back into these shows for me when I'd kinda lost it before because I'd watched them to death. But you're having to cut some of the very best bits - if you find somewhere to post uncut versions, it'd be even better. Keep up the great reactions bud!

    • @olliep8117
      @olliep8117 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Plus bud, once you've worked your way thru all the 3 series, you seriously GOTTA find some way to watch and post an uncut reaction to the first Inbetweeners UK movie from 2011. That would be epic. Second movie from 2014 generally isn't considered as good, but first movie is hilarious. You'd be on the floor reacting to that one I think.

    Not to get too deep but I genuinely feel that for many of us who went to school in the UK, The Inbetweeners represented a generation. It is the most accurate representation of what it's like to be a 16-18 year old boy in the UK I've ever seen on TV. Skins was on TV at the same time on the same channel and was also great but this show is as accurate as it gets. The best part is that the language, insults, put downs and savage roasting as it is literally how we spoke at school .

    To answer your question, the Christmas party is considered a private party legally so it is fine to drink. Only the purchase of alcohol has an age restriction in the UK, The consumption has no age restriction.

    • @paulmidsussex3409
      @paulmidsussex3409 2 ปีที่แล้ว +50

      At least in England the age restriction for beer is 5.

    • @amazingusername8925
      @amazingusername8925 2 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      It may be a private party but its being held in a state school which is government owned so the rules still apply. There has to be an adult present who must not be under the influence and only beer, cider or wine can be drunk in moderation with a main course. What constitutes a main course is a grey area and whether it is actually eaten or not doesn't matter, as long as there is food available it is ok. They have to use drinks tokens previousy paid for and not actual money, if actual money is used that would constitute a transaction involving a controlled substance and there would have to be a license holder on site and the site would need a temporary premises license which is not easy to get. If that is the case then the food and drink would have to be served from the same table which would then legally fall under the description of a refreshments area. If the drink is being served away from the food then it legally falls under the description of 'a bar', if that were the case then nobody below the age of 18 would be able to consume alcohol there with or without food as it is 'an area chiefly used for the dispensation of alcohol only' which would break the rules! Bottom line is there is an epic amount of alcohol in this country but the rules surrounding it are insanely complicated.

    I'm sure someone probably mentioned this already, but in case they didn't. The part of Mr. Gilbert (the teacher) is played by Greg Davies. He's a standup comedian (you'll probably find him on TH-cam). He actually was a schoolteacher for a while before he switched gears & took up comedy as his career.
    He NAILS the schoolteacher part in this show, and that's why.
    We had schoolteachers who were just like that... super sarcastic & on a massive ego trip. They typically had less of a sense of fun though, and were a lot meaner & more miserable.

    I think this was pretty much where Greg Davies had his real break out role as Mr Gilbert. He had been in a few things before, but this was where he really made his name early on. He was perfectly suited to the role having been a teacher before turning to comedy.
    His appearances on Would I lie to you are legendary, and has been great when he appears on Cats does countdown as well. Of course, as the Taskmaster he really is leaning back on his nasty teacher persona.
    On WILTY, he is another one like Bob Mortimer ... the more ridiculous his stories, the more likely they are to be true.

    They're in 6th form (16-18) which is optional and not all schools have them, usually if a school has one you attend if you have intentions on going to university.
    Typically rules are slightly more relaxed compared to lower school. E.g. when I was in 6th form we had a "prom" at the end of two years where alcohol was on sale, we also had a smoking room just for 6th formers (this was before the UK wide ban on indoor smoking)

    If you're a fan of Greg Davies (Mr. Gilbert) you should add "Cuckoo" to your list. The first series also stars Andy Samberg before he went on to star in "Brooklyn Nine Nine". It's a good show although Samberg leaving to focus on nine nine forced them to make some changes in season 2.

    In UK, if under 18 its illegal to buy or someone sell you alcohol. However, 16 adn 17 yr olds can drink Beer Wine or Cider with a meal, if accompanied by an adult. It is also actually legal for ages between 5 and 17 to drink alcohol at home or any other private premises.

    Not sure if this has been said already but at the time this show came out you could either leave high school at 16 or if your school had one, could stay an extra 2 years in a sixth form until you were 18.
    The sixth form is what the guys are in during the show, I believe they are 17 in this season so I guess the school is throwing them a bone because they know they'll find a way to get booze in anyway hahaha

    • @usgreth
      @usgreth 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Assuming this is the first year of sixth form people would be 16-17 with slightly more probably being 16 by christmas. Simon is 17 cos that's how he got to drive, I think the others might not be yet but not sure.

      Certain segments of each episode get flagged for copyright, but in this case if I keep those parts in, the entire video gets blocked. In other words, if I keep those bits in, nobody would be able to see the reaction at all. It sucks but it is what it is.

    They’re not actually at high school. They are in sixth form (option of further education when you finish school/high school and go to university/college). They will be a combination of ages 17 and 18 when in sixth form. In the UK legal drinking age is 18

  • @CagedPaps
    @CagedPaps 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You're asking about the beer which is answered elsewhere but previously you also said you think it was interesting seeing a pool table in a highschool. It's worth knowing these are in sixth form, depending on the school they'll usually have a dedicated area but also use other parts of the school for lessons, canteen etc. The pool table wouldn't be seen by the younger students let alone allowed to use it. Sixth form being the optional final 2 years of school.
