Maybe you missed the stories last week about the New Madrid fault line causing six earthquakes. If that sucker goes, literally a big chunk of the Midwest is going to fall into some kind of a sinkhole. Look it up. The biggest geographical earthquake in United States history. Took place in the 1800s. Caused the Mississippi River to run backwards. The Earth rose in waves 30 ft high. I did a paper on this in college. The type of soil surrounding the New Madrid fault line is such that it would cause much more widespread damaged than anything in California of a similar size. The earthquake in the 1800s rank church bells in Washington DC and philadelphia. I mean it was based in Missouri and the whole East Coast felt it. And maybe you weren't aware of the fault lines under Manhattan but they've had a couple of shakers the past couple of decades to scare the holy hell out of people. No ground in this country is really that solid.

There were no tornadoes and very few thunderstorms until the 1990s.
Yet NOAA said north and central Cali gets an average of 11 tornadoes a year.
