It was only happening for a short period of the video though - map selection and the first few rounds. I don't notice it now that I'm rewatching it though, so it could possibly have been an internet blip or TH-cam glitch .

You confirm a person is behind corner, whether it be through mutual peak, or nade throw. You both only have one angle to cover. When will your opponent not be looking? Maybe when your team, or the other team initiates onto a site with nades, generally is the time when players change their focus from get a pick, to bomb defend/retake strategy. You could peak. Bomb plants, nade throws on other sides of the maps which means a call out, knowledge of timing... i.e. If you hold A long aggressive, but immediately pull back as soon as there are calls for b, your opponent can take advantage of that to peak right as you start pulling back.
