Yes Dan is layering his voice. These radiant lights are looking like angel's wings.

Unbelievable! You’re right. This is how this song is sung in heaven. Can’t wait to be part of the choir.

Agree on his posture, which certainly aids voice power. Love his Gethsemane. Am not at all religious but his theatrical performance is like no other. Nana Karen UK

Languages are Italian, German, Brazilian Portuguese and English. He layers his voice in a lot of songs....he will sing it at different keys and sync them together.

Yes, he layers something like 60 takes for his back up choir. He did a trendously awesome job singing this with the strength the song deserves.
Thank you for sharing with us.
I agree, descriptive words are often inadequate, but joyful smiles & twinkling eyes go a long long way.

This is one of my absolute favorites of Dan's! He turns this from a 'pretty' carol to a powerful anthem of God's power and triumph! I love the layering of the delicate flute over the guitar and drums. Your reaction here and to his Hallelujah Chorus got a subscribe from me!

Loved that reaction! He is absolutely on another level and who cares it's only September, this can be listened to all year round. I've been listening to it for the past 3 months already!!! I will definitely be playing it A LOT over the Christmas period, that's for sure. I'm not a regular church goer, I have to be honest, but if he was singing I'd be there like a shot! Can you imagine - it would be packed to the rafters!
It's also worth noting his incredible breath control. I just rewatched your reaction to Nessun Dorma and when someone is classically trained to sing from the diaphragm and not the throat - that's when you don't see the straining! I find it difficult to watch when something is sung using the throat, it's uncomfortable viewing it (if that makes sense). If you rewatch Amazing Grace and see when he takes a breath (it's really not that noticeable if you're not looking for it) especially towards the end, his phrasing is sublime and it's not the longest he's done. From memory, it's 27 seconds (I actually timed it) and I don't think I missed him taking a breath and yet he still has enough in the tank to sing it with power and hold that last note. Incredible! My words to describe these types of songs from Dan are 'totally captivating!'

The sentiment you are describing is pretty much what many fans express as well. Some have even seen in their minds eye, an Angelic army singing Gods praises. Something about Dan himself i think.....and that masculinity.......Oh Yes Please!!!❤❤ For another great rendition try Dans version of "Adeste Fidelis" where Opera meets Metal sung in Latin! Its so sassy and rambunctious!

I remember reading this in another comment a while ago, but the 2 lights on either side of Dan resemble wings of light, as maybe an angel would have; I'm not sure if Dan planned that for that effect or not. Also, the languages (someone else listed them) he used in this song are the main languages of the majority of his viewers.

You should check out Adeste Fidelis, he sings it in Latin, O Come All Ye Faithful, he really puffs his chest out on that one, very upbeat and his brother Davi playing guitar. ❤❤❤And as always I love your reactions to Dan's amazing renditions. Thank you. ❤😂😊

Gosto desse "power" na voz dele!
Acho que não há música que ele não possa cantar;)
Thank you, again, for your reaction 🫶.

I heard Dan say somewhere that he recorded this 60 times for the chorus

  • @teresamerkel7161

He delivers this as Heaven's anthem of Triumph. He certainly understands how metal emphasizes, not cloaks the message of the song.

Yes he is layering his voice, he is so amazing good!
You have to hear all his covers he ist outstanding in every genres ❤
"Gethsemane from jesus christ superstar" is also so fantastic and emotional ! ❤

First verse is in Italian. Second verse is in German. Third verse is in Portuguese. The last, of course, is in English. And naturally the chorus is in Latin. Someone must've mispoken: This one's not really a metal cover. His Adeste Fideles cover -is- a metal version. Where you asked if he was layering his voice: He recorded 64 different tracks to create a "choir" of himself in the background. Just awesome! And also, trust that -anything- you hear in a Dan Vasc music video is always intentional.

I'm no expert, but I think that part of the reason he stands like that is that he is anchoring himself. That posture opens the chest and allows for more resonance. Plus, sigh, it looks very nice. He is a remarkable talent. Just curious -- does he do any live work? That would be fun to see.

Thank you so much for putting into words what I feel about Dan singing this carol! His singing amazes me all the time. Recently on my YT feed, two songs came up - both beautiful, but the one he did for Yellow September - Heaven can Wait, was truly inspiring. He has a little 'chat' at the end of the song about depression, what he went through and September being the month of 'unliving* oneself' (*for the YT machine), really so inspiring. The second song was a cover of the Kamelot song 'Abandoned' - such a beautiful song, so heart felt. Thanks again for a great reaction.

  • @julierodda5826

Herald of his coming. I dont think the Hos of Angels singing as recorded in Luke was mild either..definitely a mighty, force advancing. No wonder the shepherds were terrified! . Advancing army of the Lord announcing his arrival on earth. Amen. Both the time in Bethlehem snd at the end of days. Magnificent.
And yes, he layers his voice many times for the choir. I think one of his interviews says 60 times total for every piece of the choir. In each language.
