I grew up in Newton falls. Been in the navy since 2018 but I'm moving back home in August. I'm gonna be attempting a mosquito lake flathead as well lol. I also fish out of a kayak. Would love to tag along with one of your trips sometime. Great video!
Nice video! I got my first Flathead last Summer on the Muskingim River. Have you caught a blue cat yet? That is something I've yet to do I know Hoover reservoir down by Columbus is a great spot they have been stocking them since 2011 and 50 pounders have been caught. I think West branch is stocking Blue cats in 2023.
Love those flatheads, I WANT MORE🤣 Burr oak and east fork started stocking blues this year. Alum, atwood, rocky fork and westbranch get them next year. Hoover, clendening and Seneca were the firsts, 2011, 15 and 16 respectively. I've gotten them out of Hoover and Clendening. Hoovers are getting huge but clendening ain't far behind. Talked to a local at Hoover this year and he said the catfishermen down there are getting ridiculous, borderline nuisance. But clendening is just so secluded not to many people get there except the locals and me😆 Its a little over an hour and a half trip for me so I dont get there often but it is by far my favorite place to go, it's gorgeous. I got a couple 25 plus inchers out of there this year.

North end of the lake in the shallows is where I got them. Never even sniffed one all the times I've fished at the south end.
Up at the north end now on the edge of the wildlife preserve tearing it up with cut bait on a slip bobber. No flats yet but some big channels.
