In This Lesson :
Dr. Fred Hiebert
Dr. Fred Hiebert is an archaeologist and explorer.
▌He is the Explorer in Residence for the National Geographic Society.
▌He studies the past by excavating observing and writing about archaeological sites and objects
ICT tools that help Mr. Hiebert
Word: For writing reports.
Excel: For preparing and showing graphs .
PowerPoint: To present the results of his research he uses it.
When you use PowerPoint, you should ensure that the slides are easy to read and make the information clear to make a good presentation.
There are three methods that Mr. Hiebert uses for formal communication.
1. Printed Letters
2. E-Mails
3. he hands the document himself
How can Mentoring help?
Mentoring is advising or training someone on a subject you have experience in.
▌Mentors share their experience, including problems that may arise and how to deal with them.
▌Mr. Hiebert prefers to communicate with people face to face.
▌When it is not possible to meet face-to-face, he uses technology tools that help him make virtual meetings, and among these tools: WhatsApp, Zoom.
Mr. Hiebert believes it is important to follow up a virtual meeting or phone call with formal, documented notes via email, or include notes in a Word document and attach to E-mail.
Educational channels
▌Efforts of the Ministry of Education to share educational lessons and various skills.
▌Broadcasting educational lessons via satellite broadcasting channels .
▌Lessons can be watched on Madrasetna channels on TH-cam
Through these tools:
► Students can catch up on lessons they missed.
► Or students who need more explanation of the lesson.
► Or who want a quick review of the lesson.
Using technology in communication
► Virtual meetings, or video conferencing provide an effective method to mentor others.
► During video conferencing, people can see and hear one another
► They can share information found on their screens and even send and receive
documents.
