Got my first ever keyboard yesterday, aged 56. This is the first song I’m attempting. Loving this tutorial, already got my left hand rolling! Thank you so much 😊
From reading through all the nice comments below, I learnt that this beautiful lady is from Vancouver! No wonder she is such a pleasant personality! She is CANADIAN. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, for sharing your time and talent - A just retired man from Mississauga, Ontario, with the single minded goal of learning to play the piano, even if it is going to kill me in the process :)
Ive been playing guitar for 30 years and have started playing Piano, I just received a piano that was my grandmothers , Its bringing joy to our home and my 6 year old son is learning with me. Your lessons are great. Thank you.
Watched this many times. For a fresh beginner this would be hard to understand, but for someone who watched at least 10 videos on the basics of piano this is GOLD! Thank you for everything.
I play five instruments and I sing and have played solo and in bands all my life. I never learned to read music. The way you put this video together speaks to me as a musician and is wonderfully explained in an intuitive manner. I love it, thank you!
Lifelong (50+) year guitar player who always desired to play piano, just never had the opportunity. I just bought a full size keyboard and am determined it’s never to late to learn. You have an AMAZING gift of teaching and I have already learned so much! You and your videos are fun, engaging and easy to follow. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being so generous with your talent!
😊 My name is Joseph vida with a t and I started playing Polo when I was a boy but what I mean to say I started playing piano when I was 72 and I'm 75 now. I did play Polo. But now I gain great joy in playing the piano. I can come in and no matter what my mood is or what the problems of the day might be, I have very few problems, thank God, I can sit down at the piano and play whatever God gives me. I play all music that just comes to me. Mostly in the key of c sharp because it's easy for my old fat tire. Fingers to reach those keys. But this song that this young lady is teaching is just such a reaching song deep in my heart. And she's very pleasant. So I pray that I'll be able to learn it. And for all of you out there that are enjoying the piano. Hello. My father was a musician and a singer back in the 40s. I loved the way he could come in and sit down and play and sing and just take us away in the music. It was good for him. That's all. Be happy God Jesus?
Just going through these songs renews my spirit. I am breaking in a great 88 key midi controller enjoying sound benefits of perfectly tuned great world class 9' grands - next best thing to Heaven - and your simple straight forward style is perfect coaching after mostly working with other keyboardists for 50 years - back on it right now! Thank you, thank you, and thank you!
I used to play synthesizers in the 80's. My last gig was 1985 and my keyboards have been collecting dust since then. I'm retiring from my day job in a month and I want to get back into music but I've found I have lost my skills and my ear. This was very helpful for me to get re-acquainted with a few things. Thank you. I'll be following you.
At 72 I am finally learning the piano and this one lesson has everything I have been looking for. It shows so many ways to build on a song from a lead sheet. I will use these techniques on other songs now. Great lesson!
That is So, So, Good !!! I just ordered a Donner SE-1, haven't played for 60 years+... Never got out of the beginner book as a kid.... So, I am going to start over at 71 ... this might be the song I'll try.... Lisa you are so good... Two of my kids are music teacher at school, but are 3 & 4 hours away.. I'll get some help from them tho. Thanks for making all the Videos !!
I always wondered how people took a fairly basic song and made it sound so good. I am about to get a Keyboard and start learning. This has given me motivation. Thank you so much.
I have been working as a piano accompanist in the church for 20 years, maybe. i always think my skill is not enough to give my church brother happiness and emotion. I got a strong motivation watching this video. especially the player's joyful face on while playing and lessening make me happy too and be impressed to be a good accompanist , and i realized that the really good accompanist is a joyful accompanist. thanks for this video, it helps me a lot of on the many ways~
I've had so much fun playing along with you. As self taught organist, I am exercising my left hand morseo, as I have always been used to just playing chords. Now I have to move those fingers. At least I know notes to a chord. Practise practise. I'm a young 62 having so much fun. Thank you for these awesome tutorials.
I'm a music teacher who works Pro-Bono with children. I love the inverted accompaniment chords in this song. Sounds quite amazing and easy to play. I will teach my children this style of accompaniment and they can use it to play on other songs as well. Thank you so much.
I've played limited piano since childhood, but never could read notes and therefore I've struggled with learning new songs. I was able to pick this up in one evening, thanks to how you broke it down into easy steps. It sounds like a song!
I also agree that this channel is gold mine of incredible good tips on music theory that you can apply directly without having to have had 10 years of piano lessons.
Thanks for your wonderful style of teaching Piano music. I was a western classical piano teacher. I have stopped now because of my illness. I often watch your channel and enjoy your music. God bless you abundantly.
I purchased a keyboard for my wife's birthday. She loves to tinker with the keys. She agreed to let me share her keyboard and since she loves this song I have set out on a mission to learn it within the year. I am working on the left hand and found that your instructions were very informative and made the chord changes much easier. You make it look so effortless. Thanks you
You are a truly fantastic teacher. I started learning when I was around 6 years old and didn't have good teachers. I've been playing on and off the last 20 years, but now you're making me enjoy it again. Thank you.
I do not understand english. But your tutorial is so done that you don't need to understand what is said to understand what to do. Congratulations on the work.
Intermediate rock and metal guitarist branching out to keyboard and drums. All self taught, getting older, slowing down a bit. Wanting to accomplish at least one great song as a performance piece, and this is it. Going to study this one, long and in depth. Thanks for the help! Check this one off of my bucket list!!
i did piano lessons when i was 5 but didnt have the most progressive teacher and had to stop because i was moving, after that i didnt play too much, but the video you made of how to read music notess got me back into it and then i started taking lessons again and that bc you got me back into piano. Thanks a lot for the motivation.
Loved this method. Perfect for me. Been playing chords with the left and melody on the right. This method really adds a rhythm to the song and more notes for the right hand. Just what I needed! Thank you!
When I was required to play this for a band down at the local arts center, I used an inversion on that C major chord. I recommend that for anybody who doesn't feel like jumping from that A minor to the C major
As a new pianist- (always wanted to learn but lacked funds and time) is it weird her relaxed smirk and way of articulation actually makes me smile and feel like I can do this? its really refreshing.
this is a much easier instruction for me, since I am a total beginner! the young lady breaks it down into simple ABC, and gives the student a variety of techniques to keep it interesting. thanks!
I wish I had a teacher like you but I was young. I have a keyboard over here in my living room that I may touch once every two weeks. It’s sad but I want to learn so I’m watching and listening and learning and getting excited to play piano thanks for this
Let me guess? You worked hard and committed to practicing a fun, disciplined art in lieu of watching pointless youtube clips and eating junk food. I'm sure you did. Let us know what you've been doing for the past 7 months!
I really like this channel because it’s not all beginner stuff. Some of the songs are appropriate for intermediate players. I wish they had more content intermediate individuals, not just focusing on beginners... We who have been playing for years also could use instruction. 😊😊
I’ve been watching and listening to you with a smile on my face and hope in my heart that I can persevere with the piano and get as much pleasure playing as I get from watching you teaching 👍 you’re obvious passion is infectious x Thank you

Thank you for teaching me to play Hallelujah, Lisa! Bought a piano and started learning at the start of lockdown, here in Australia. I developed my own interpretation inspired by you. An intro, five distunct verses and a finale. Not perfect as I still make mistakes. Recorded it a couple of month back. Would love for you to hear it!

I absolutely adore you and your teaching ability. I’m 60 years old and have always played by ear. I can learn faster with this method than learning notes ( it drives my musical daughter crazy) lol. I’ve accomplished so many songs from your teaching. Kudos…you’re awesome! A fan for life!
This is great! I haven't played piano after i broke my arm and i feel give up to keep learning. But suddenly i watched your video's it really hypes me up to learning piano again. Thank you for this i really love it!!❤❤❤
This channel has been the most helpfull to enhance my piano skills. You brake down difficult songs so everyone can play them, no matter how high or low their skill is. Thank you!
After many, many years of not playing the piano, two of my grandsons wanted me to teach them. We're using beginner books, but you have helped me and them so much through your easy and friendly explanations! So happy to have found you on TH-cam. Thank you for all you do - you're so talented.
So VERY Grateful for your most pleasant & helpful instruction !! Your methods are superb for this 79 y.o., trying to relearn basics used in 50's rock band !
This is the first song I am learning. I tried to sight read it using solid chords to start. It went really well, but my left hand dosen't have the coordination for those arpegios yet but I'm getting there. Thank you for this!
Thank u so much!!!! When I was a teen I dropped the piano...and now I am going to follow you to retake it, thank you so much, God bless you and your talent
I love playing this song. Hallelujah is such a beautiful melody, and I am so excited to have mastered those chords. Thank you so much for teaching me this! It took me a while, but is finally coming together..
I am new beginner and struggling with the left hand right hand playing at the same time. Any advise? I can play cords and I can play melody, the togetherness isn’t working.
I can not wait to give this a try...I heard "Christmas Hallelujah by Cloverton for the first time 3 years ago...my favorite song for this time of year looking forward to learning this!!!! Blessings to you and yours in the Wonderfully Beautiful and all Powerful name of Jesus!!!

This is absolutely beautiful while remaining fairly simple to play. And I really appreciate your attitude and friendliness in your instruction!!! Thank you!!!
Thanks very much Lisa....As I listened to the way you played this beautiful song, I could feel myself ascending to the heavens above. Please carry on teaching us all to play the piano just like you. ❤️🧚♀️🌌
Love your teaching style! Your communication pace is exactly what a beginner like me, needs. Simple clear instructions, not heavy on enbellishment. Muy agradecido, gracias!
You certainly bring out the beauty of the piano. So glad you found each other, and we found you. So motivated than ever to dedicate myself to learning. I appreciate all your hard work 😁😁
Thanks so much for taking the mystery out of playing the piano. I have been trying to learn off and on since I was 8 - over 60 years now, but was always counting on my ear so I never made any progress. Till now.
Oh my goodness I found your videos during a Saturday night at home during covid lockdown and I’m absolutely over the moon. Thank you so much for creating these videos, you’ve really made my day! It’s been a joy learning to play the piano with all my extra time during isolation.
I was having problems with the chord progressions and switching back and forth with the chords, and making it sound not choppy. I found that using the pedal on the last note of the chord, then letting up when you go to a new chord makes it sound much better. I think that is what she is doing

Till now.
You have one of the best teaching styles. I learn the most from you out of all the other music teachers. Thank you so much!
I've never smiled at a tutorial. This is just amazing! What a fantastic tutor as well!
Oh my goodness I found your videos during a Saturday night at home during covid lockdown and I’m absolutely over the moon. Thank you so much for creating these videos, you’ve really made my day! It’s been a joy learning to play the piano with all my extra time during isolation.
The best piano teacher in the world
I was having problems with the chord progressions and switching back and forth with the chords, and making it sound not choppy. I found that using the pedal on the last note of the chord, then letting up when you go to a new chord makes it sound much better. I think that is what she is doing
U make it look so simple, wish i could play like you
Holy crap! She sings too?!? Thanks for creating & sharing this!!
