Planning Your Off-Grid LoRa Private Mesh Comms Cluster with ChatterBox

- ChatterBox is a private off-grid communication and location sharing system that does not use cell towers or internet. Rather, it uses LoRa frequencies, meshing, encryption, and digital signatures to allow you to communicate and track/share location of other trusted nearby devices.
This video describes how a few of the different devices interact to form your private cluster, and how to get the best performance from your cluster.
This is very high level, but you can find more detailed technical info and learn how to buy or build your own cluster now at:

Hi, could you specify which level of encryption the chatterBox Mesh is running at as well as how easy or difficult the LoRa transmissions are to triangulate? which monitor-able data can be observed outside of the mesh? T
hanks
The LoRa frequency used is changing every minute or so, so to triangulate I think one would need to know the hopping schedule, which is unpredictable unless you have the cluster's symmetric key and the cluster's current time.
You can find a lot more details about the encryption/etc here: www.offgridcomms.club/help/technical-overview/
no thanks, I tried to test the firmware on my t-desk plus after flashing it. It was stuck on the startup screen at the GPS install.
Maybe your SD card is incompatible if that's still an issue with t-decks? I've had similar issue with my t-decks plus when tried flashing/using chatters for the 1st time.
I'm not sure how long ago you gave it a try, but within the past few weeks the capability to pull time from other nearby devices (via LoRa) was added. When it is "hung" waiting on gps, it's actually only waiting on the time from a satellite or other time provider. It can go on without GPS if it has the time.
Of course, at least 1 device nearby needs to have the time to share, which means one will have to have acquired gps or a node/tbeam needs to be within range at startup. tbeam does have a realtime clock onboard.
