I am surprised Arkham Horror the Card game, Betrayal at House of the Hill, Eldrich Horror and Nemesis did not make the list. Not because I have played any of them but because they seem to be favorites by so many others and I have neither played these or the games in the top 10 here. I need to get a horror board game, but am still not sure which one I would pick.
I'm just starting the video and I can't wait for Jamie to pick something like Parks and say it's a spooky game because of the scary stories you tell around the fireplace when you go camping!
Congrats on the Van Ryder gig, miss! A lot fo the minis in MoM are very board game quality. I did get a bunch of STLs for the older characters and it helped. We LOVE The Hunger as well. We haven't got the expansion yet. We actually have Fearsome Floors and we LOVE it. The look sold me on it immediately and I learned how to play after getting it home. What a great list. Time to go check some others out!
Such a good list! Hoping to dive into Mansions of Madness this spooky season. For The Hunger, I'm definitely interested in how you two thing High Stakes shifts things. We really like The Hunger, and find it fun but just a little lackluster at two (which is how we mostly play), and adding in the expansion REALLY amped it up. Might get a bit fiddly with more people, but at two it added just enough additional set of factors that I don't think we'll ever play without it.

After drooling over the look of Parks, I saw Campy Creatures and thought it looked like fun, nice to hear that you guys think it is! Out of curiosity, have you played "Caper" or "caper Europe"? It's another keymaster game but it looks tricky with the amount of modifiers.
I got my wife Harry Potter Hogwarts Battle last Christmas, our first coop game, and we just started working through it as part of our Halloween theme this year. I also got Horrified last week. We're going to give that a try on the weekend. If I ever introduce the word Octoboo to my wife I'll never hear the end of it, even on a sunny day in July 😄. I think I'm going to go do just that and see what happens 🙃

Not sure!! I’m not going to speculate one way or the other, would be impossible to know without playing it that many times, and even then it might be a different opinion for us than your group.

The Hunger is such a good game. I own all the clanks. The Hunger is so different from clank. The Hunger is an extremely underrated game for sure.

I loved mansions of madness. It was a gateway into lots of other games. Once I got cthulhu dmd I sold mansions. To me it is just a better version
I think they’re pretty different experiences honestly. Ones a narrative story driven game, the other is a big dice chucker.
