My daughter's company has recently gone back to using Canva to collaborate with team members. I sent her this video and told her how helpful your channel is to me. I may be getting a promotion soon and I may be managing social media accounts for 5 different dealerships within my company. Whiteboards seem to be a good way of keeping everything separate but together all at the same time, if that makes sense? Thank you both for all your videos! I will be using this as a choose your own video adventure to sort potential clients by service offering - I decided to do this just before I saw your tutorial. I will also use it for a course validation workshop which is collaborative. Thanks for your wonderful videos.
I think I will be using the whiteboards for brainstorming products and organizing graphic elements I use to design & market them. I'm thinking about ways I can use them to not only brainstorm, but also organize all the info about researching, creating, and marketing products. I'll often come across an element or template I'd like to use for a certain project, and I'll put it in a folder to use later. But I tend to forget that it's there because it's tucked away in a folder where I can't see it. A whiteboard will be perfect for getting all those elements out of those folders so I can see what I have to work with, but still keep them organized. I hope that Canva continues to develop the whiteboards and turn them into something that integrates with the rest of Canva and maybe some other platforms, as well. I'm thinking about a Notion-like experience where everything is connected. Items in tables can be sorted and linked to designs, spreadsheets, etc. Imagine you had a product or service you're developing. It would be awesome if you could embed or link all the Canva designs for that product in a single whiteboard - as well as the designs you use for marketing it. Imagine you could also embed Google Sheets spreadsheets, allowing you to keep market research, keyword research, sales figures, and advertising analytics for that product in one whiteboard. And imagine if you could also embed or link a brand kit into the whiteboard. You could update the brand kit from within the whiteboard and Canva would automatically apply those changes to every design that uses that brand kit. And, of course, you'd want to be able to integrate your Canva social media content calendar into the whiteboard, too. A whiteboard could be a headquarters for everything related to a certain product, course, or event - whatever you're creating! It would be a great way to organize everything visually.

Let's see how Canva decides to develop the whiteboards, but I like what you said about collecting all the elements you enjoy using on a whiteboard as an easy way to access them. Often when putting together a presentation I will have a bunch of pages of elements that I am working on and then have to go back thru and delete. Sometimes an element will even get lost. This seems like it would make more sense to use as my scratch paper.

Canva subscriber here. I wonder what's keeping Canva from bringing out a pen/marker for its Whiteboard. Plus, the infinite space might sound like more freedom for your notes, but it turns out to be a hindrance, as it makes it hard to find your way around the space -- not to mention that your notes move back and forth of their own accord as you scroll up and down and sideways on the page. Figuring out the ideal size of fonts and elements for download is something else Canva should be working on. As basic as it is, Jamboard still stands as an uncomplicated, superior option.
I can see that whiteboard would help when two of us are making a newsletter and need to see which elements each person has completed, and comment too Can you suggest the most suitable template for that?

I am new to Canva; just joined today. Your video was very helpful. I plan to use Canva to produce virtual learning materials for teaching children online. I already wish that the whiteboard graphics had a simple green check mark and and red X. I would like to be able to ask the students whether each word in a list rhymes with the key word and then mark them accordingly as they comment.
First of all: welcome to Canva and our channel 🙌✨ You are in good hands here. You can import these graphics to your whiteboard, duplicate them and have them ready to use when the children are interacting. Simply search for them using keywords like «check» or «wrong» under «Elements». Just make sure to filter the graphics only.
It would be great if it had a PRESENTATION style that allows you to move pre-made elements around without the fat sidebar in the way. Also it would be great to have a way to use a HAND DRAGGING type of feature to move around the page/canvas/whiteboard. I know with a trackpad you may be able to move around in pinching and sliding but many of us still like to use a mouse.

There's actually another feature in Canva that might be more appropriate for wireframes: Prototypes. From the Canva homepage, search for "desktop prototype" or "mobile prototype". I should create a tutorial about this, thanks for reminding me Anna 😉
Whiteboard could be perfect for creating Prezzie type presentations. It would be cool if you could create blocks of presentations and then connect them through a scroll transition. It will makes decks much more interesting! LEGEND!!!

Hey there 👋 I hanks for following our content! We had that blue BG in our studio in Sydney, but now we moved and had to leave it there. So on the road we’ve been shooting against a white wall, but once we settle again, we’ll probably have another type of BG that allows us to do chroma keying. Our video editor uses Premiere Pro.

If by “animated voice” you mean text to speech technology, but hen no! Canva doesn’t support that at the moment. But it would be a great feature to have 🤞
thanks for the video, it was really helpful. I would like to use it in my classroom. Is it possible to change one slide from my presentation to whiteboard (for brainstorming) and then continue in my presentation? I do not want pupils to change my presentation but only the slide changed in the whiteboard...is it possible? and if so, Can I see later on who wrote what? is there any history like in google doc where I can see who made which changes?
Hey Zuzana 👋 Yes you can expand only one slide of your presentation as a whiteboard. You will see who is writing what in real time, but there’s no way to see that afterwards (unless you ask students to sign or use their profile picture next to what they wrote).

The Whiteboard is amazing. Is there any chance you can add an option for a dice next to the timer. Maybe that way I can play snakes and ladders on the board or other games that need dice.

Can you copy a row or group of Cells in Excel or Google Sheets and copy/paste into Canva and then Canva makes each cell a sticky note? I use this all the time in MIro? Thanks Love Canva.
This is nice, though features are very much like Miro boards have had for a while. Can people be invited to collaborate who are NOT ON YOR CANVA TEAM, that is, say a free user has an account, but is not paid on your team, can they be invited to participate on a whiteboard? That would be a value add to me as a consultant who wants to collaborate with many people, but not necessarily have a large (paid) team. --- and Thank You for another excellent Canva video

We had that blue BG in our studio in Sydney, but now we moved and had to leave it there.
So on the road we’ve been shooting against a white wall, but once we settle again, we’ll probably have another type of BG that allows us to do chroma keying.
Our video editor uses Premiere Pro.
Thanks Ronny, I really enjoyed this video and a couple of your other ones. Does Canva have the option to add an animated voice? I want to do an instructional video where I use an animated voice instead of my own (my voice isn't that exciting).
If by “animated voice” you mean text to speech technology, but hen no!
Canva doesn’t support that at the moment.
But it would be a great feature to have 🤞

Is it possible to change one slide from my presentation to whiteboard (for brainstorming) and then continue in my presentation? I do not want pupils to change my presentation but only the slide changed in the whiteboard...is it possible? and if so, Can I see later on who wrote what? is there any history like in google doc where I can see who made which changes?

Yes you can expand only one slide of your presentation as a whiteboard.
You will see who is writing what in real time, but there’s no way to see that afterwards (unless you ask students to sign or use their profile picture next to what they wrote).

The Whiteboard is amazing. Is there any chance you can add an option for a dice next to the timer. Maybe that way I can play snakes and ladders on the board or other games that need dice.
That would be a nice add on indeed.

Hello .. the main reason for me to whiteboard is to freehand draw with a marker. This is the one thing I can not find on Canva. Am I overlooking it?
There’s a Draw feature (still a bit clunky) in the apps under the “More” button of the left side menu in the Editor.

You can invite any Canva user to your documents if you invite them via their email address.

Have you tried to import them via the « all my design » folder?
If that doesn’t work, simply open in another tab and copy/paste.
Ronny, if you click and hold the mouse wheel, it works as the hand tool in Photoshop. Too bad it is only working in Whiteboard mode.

How to download the documents on mobile phone?
Can you copy a row or group of Cells in Excel or Google Sheets and copy/paste into Canva and then Canva makes each cell a sticky note? I use this all the time in MIro? Thanks Love Canva.
I don't think you can do that with Canva so far, but that sounds like an interesting feature!

This is nice, though features are very much like Miro boards have had for a while. Can people be invited to collaborate who are NOT ON YOR CANVA TEAM, that is, say a free user has an account, but is not paid on your team, can they be invited to participate on a whiteboard? That would be a value add to me as a consultant who wants to collaborate with many people, but not necessarily have a large (paid) team. --- and Thank You for another excellent Canva video

How to download only relevent area in whiteboard ? Currently when I try to download , it gives a large picture with lot of empty white space .

Hi, i accidentally clicked the whiteboard option on one of my slides. How do i revert the slide back to it's normal version?
Unfortunately there’s no option to go back once you’ve extended a slide to a whiteboard. They definitely should add this feature imo.

Apparently you cannot reverse a slide back to being simply a slide after you turned it into a whiteboard.

I want to merge spliced video content into my whiteboard presentations. If I'm not mistaken Canva does not have the functionality.
You can add video clips to your whiteboard, but there's no timeline for you to edit these videos there.

Whiteboards don’t have sizes. They are not physical documents.
wow would be really cool to add a slide or project as an object, when clicked goes to said project :) this could be helpful to map out different content plans for organic posts or ads :D
