Brutal elbows, jabs, and hooks to the face and a rib crushing spinning heel kick. Helluva way to make a living. Stipe is a legend and that was a very hard earned payday 😣 🤕
Imagine if he would’ve fought the interim champion instead of fighting the guy who’s been retired for longer than Khabib and also coming off of a knockout loss.

Jones make everybody look like something is wrong with them. DC, Gane, now this. During all those fights im like whats wrong with them? Why they fighting like that? The answer is Jon Jones
He gets fighters in their heads because there's nothing he can't do. Start 2nd guessing their attack, in pain, & having very little success at anything.
Gane that was an amateur performance to let someone choke u out that easy. Gane just isnt that good on the ground, he's a kickboxer. DC he had a massive size, athletic and age advantage over him and ducked him in a fight at Heavyweight because he knew he'd lose. Ducked ngganou, ducking Aspinall...lost to reyes and gustaffson, was losing against Alves until alves injured his knee and still struggled and was getting his ass beat in standup against alves...Jones just cherry picks fights and fought most his career with a huge size advantage and everytime he fought someone his size who put pressure on him he got his ass beat. @@IsaacMSingleton1yeah his back was hurt, from getting destroyed in the first round. Look at how much energy he had in the first minute or so, then compare that to the 2nd and 3rd round.
it's clear that stipe's team thought that putting on weight would allow him to hurt jon with his power as well as endure jon's attacks (unlike vs ngannou, where they wanted him slimmer to try to avoid ngannou and control the range). hilariously, that plan would've been better against ngannou, and his plan against ngannou would've worked better against jon. teams are almost as important as fighters, jon's team has been underrated for years, he's always incredibly prepared for his opponents
Yes very true. But part of it has to do with the fighter's IQ and dedication as well, remember Jones and Holly Holm have the same team but different levels of success (although both are champions).
People calling stipe slow an stuff but some of the punches jones was dodging were nice, we seen the old jones tonight an if he shows up like this or better for aspinal, we are in for a great fight

Is he the GOAT at LWH? Absolutely, but he might not even be 5th in the pfp GOAT list until he does more in HW. He has yet to face a true number one contender at HW. He also refused to fight DC at heavyweight despite them fighting MULTIPLE times. Hasn't fought Francis, and is tip toeing around Tom. The Stipe fight is for the fans, but no one thought an ancient fighter 5 years past his prime had a chance. If he wants to truly be on that P4P list, he needs to do it the right way.
Listened to his interviews to study his mindset this was the first time I watched him fight (not big in ufc more so boxing) he’s a tactician and he mentally takes himself somewhere days or weeks before the fight that gives him a psychological advantage
Maybe where he went mentally he had to fight 10 of those Guys all by himself so when he came back to the Reality it was just a breeze only to fight one.

Im a huge stipe fan and followed his career but lets be honest, he was slow, past his prime, standing target -- no head movement or foot work or speed. Might as well put stipe on a silver platter and a fork in front of Jones at this point in his career. Winning against this version of stipe does nothing for his legacy or career. Fight aspinall and lose just like he did against reyes, gustaffson and alves had he not torn his knee. Dude has no hands or standup and no answer for pressure or fighters who can throw down. He doesnt counter or trade, he folds up and runs. U can see he did it even in this fight against stipe everytime he was pressured with hands he runs he has no answer for it.

Paul vs Tyson is a 30 year age gap.
it's clear that stipe's team thought that putting on weight would allow him to hurt jon with his power as well as endure jon's attacks (unlike vs ngannou, where they wanted him slimmer to try to avoid ngannou and control the range). hilariously, that plan would've been better against ngannou, and his plan against ngannou would've worked better against jon. teams are almost as important as fighters, jon's team has been underrated for years, he's always incredibly prepared for his opponents
