I reverted about a year ago. I was born into a Muslim family but was in disbelief for majority of my life. But once I educated myself about Islam, it was obvious that there’s no choice in Hijab as much as the reformists like to declare. I’m 28 now, and I made a goal to start wearing the Hijab on Sept 1st. It was not about whether I was ready or not-I’m still attached to beauty, fashion, makeup-just that it is an obligation and I wanted to feel closer to Allah by obeying Him. Alhamdullilah, I started wearing it on Sept 1st like I promised myself, and I’m proud of it. I also think, the struggle I’m feeling will lead to reward. This video was at the right time. May Allah make it easy for all of us!

I reverted to Islam a couple of months ago. I really didn't like this video when I first listened to it, I wanted to pretend like what she said wasnt true and wanted to keep denying the facts. However I found myself replaying the video every now and then. Finally I decided to wear it, this was the motivation I needed and subhanAllah I will never take it off! Thinking back now this was one of the easiest things Ive ever had to do.

This video, I saw it before I decided to wear a hijab. I knew wearing a hijab was a big decision and I was so unsure and after watching this I finally just told myself “that’s it, just do it Alysha” I did it and I will never look back, I love my hijab and Alhamdulillah I feel happy and beautiful. I am blessed by Allah SWT for giving me the strength to wear my hijab and I will never take it off, I will wear it to my grave Inshah’Allah

I reverted a year ago but I hadn't made true change. Subhanallah when Ramadhan came I was struck by the blessings of Allah and my eyes opened. Furthermore after Ramadhan I can feel the Shaytaan back again, trying to tempt me and all kinds of sins. But I put the hijab on during Ramadhan after dressing immodest, my hair being out, etc. It was a compulsion I felt like I had to but I WANTED to. Like I needed to. It is a constant reminder of Allah, in the way you act and think and brings you closer to Allah. I'm now struggling because I feel like I should take it off but I know it is the whispers of Shaytaan and temptations of Dunya. May Allah keep me steadfast and protect me from Shaytaan the accursed

Sister, I started wearing the hijab a month ago. I mentioned it to my husband before, and he was happy, and said I have his full support. But now, he constantly criticizes me. He keeps pointing out things like the style, the colour, how I have tied my hair at the back etc. He gets very harsh/rude with his comments. But whatever he points out, I fix that, and those issues haven't repeated, but still, everytime I come downstairs when going somewhere with him, my heart feels like its gonna drop, and it does, because he looks at me with a disgusted look on his face.
Just for perspective, not bragging, but I'm quite good looking, and he has always told me that. He used to always compliment me on my looks, and hasn't once since I started doing hijab, not even at home when I don't have one on. He blatantly tells me other girls look so good in hijab, and I don't. While everyone else in family ans friends say that it looks exceptionally good on me. I feel like crying when anyone else compliments me now, because it reminds me of how much my husband dislikes me in it. He has also told me he can't go places/do things with me anymore, like going for a bike ride or for outings, with my hijab on.
I'm extremely heart broken, and feel a sense of despair setting in me. I constantly keep praying to Allah to keep me steadfast and to give me strength to go through this difficult phase while holding on to my hijab and to guide my husband.
I don't know what else to do..
Anyone reading my comment, please pray for me.

    My Problem is,
I have struggled with my weight in the past to this day.
And with all the negative comments and really bad insults about my looks, I'm struggling really hard to be comfortable in my body.
I have become so sensitive and sensitive through this past, which I really have hardly self-confidence.
My self-confidence was taken away from me as a child in the past and this makes many things in life difficult for me
I'm so scared that when I cover up people all stare at me and laugh.
I hate it so much and Allah knows best how uncomfortable I feel when someone is looking at me.
For example, when I put on a dress, some of my family tell me that I look too fat and huge.
I finally want to try to lose weight to get along with my body and then slowly approach the cover but it's so difficult for me.
I am also aware that this is no excuse for not covering myself now, but I am afraid of doing something wrong and letting myself be influenced by my low self-esteem and sensitivity.
Alhamdulillah, since I started practicing I have been dealing with this topic and I often try to make dua in prayer to make it easier for me and all sisters who struggle with the same Problem .

May Allah make things easier for you, i was also very skeptical of what people are going to say. What helped me الحمد للہ was started wearing hijab to places where no one knew me eg shopping malls were perfect place for doing this experiment, and then a close relatives wedding was absolutely spot on occasion to wear hijab and openly declare the transition.

Give your heart to Allah. Even before hijab. Take small steps. Get also professional help for your insecurities. There is hope, there IS healing. The fact that you are aware of how you are sabotaging yourself is a step in the right direction. Take back your power, love yourself and view yourself the way Allah and the angels view you, with love , mercy and compassion ❤ May Allah make it easy for you sister.

hope you're all doing well. I wanted to share something special with you. This Ramadan has been amazing for me, and I feel so much closer to Allah. My trust in Him has grown stronger over the years.
I've been thinking a lot lately about wearing the hijab. It's something I've been considering for a while, but I was worried about how people would react, like my family, coworkers, and friends at the gym. But then, something clicked yesterday morning, and I decided to finally wear it.🧕❤
I'm hoping for strength and guidance from Allah on this journey. Please keep me in your prayers. And let's pray that all sisters find the right path. Ameen.

And pray to Allah to make it easy for your family to accept your truth. Secondly , take your time. Maybe you can make Muslim friends to help you. Inshallah. I pray your parents’ hearts are softened by Allah’s Will and they see the beauty of Islam through you and others to be curious and let go their prejudices 🌿

I am kinda in the same situation I wanna wear the hijab but my mom is against it cuz she says I am young even though she herself is a hijabi muslim so it gives so much doubts the fact that she's muslim I want her to understand and support me but it is the complete opposite so some times I think maybe she is right maybe she knows what is best for me may allah make it easier for us ❤

There is nowhere in the Quran that instructs women to cover their head, ears and neck. I have looked at all the verses that people refer to, but nothing makes it obligatory. It just states women should dress modestly and cover their bosoms.

No sister, here you are mistaken. it’s okay though, the word used is بخمرهن (وَلْيَضْرِبْنَ بِخُمُرِهِنَّ عَلَىٰ
      جُيُوبِهِنَّ)
I believe it derives from the word خمار which means to cover from the back and from neck and what is below the neck, this is what the meaning implies and it is obligatory there is not a single scholar who disagrees with the obligation as Allah clearly states ليضربنّ which means (let them draw) it is clearly implying an order from Allah as whatever he عزّ وجل orders we shouldn’t ask nor think twice about it. It’s okay I hope this helps, one reason you probably didn’t catch is because you may have had the wrong intention, God All Mighty states in the Quran that those who come to the Quran with the wrong intention with be misguided يضل به كثيرا ويهدي به كثيرا وما يضل به إلا الفاسقين [It guides most and misguides most (the Quran) and it does not misguide except the rebellious] just fix your intention next time, we have to come humbly and forget any other knowledge we had thinking we can just understand it, yes contemplating the Quran is useful but we Always have to come to Gods book with the right intention.

@@aliforMayor @aliforMayor no, I am not mistaken and I am mot misguided. I have read the Quran over and over. I have watched countless videos online from different Imams etc. Many have tried to make the meaning of these verses obligatory. You begin your long paragraph with Arabic words and then "I believe it is derived from...". So is it derived from it or not? Or is it just believed to be? So an implied meaning is implied by man or Allah? Because if there is anything Muslims are obsessed with, it is the hijab. I am a recent revert and I have read over and over to seek understanding. For you to say that perhaps I am misguided is so laughable. Muslims keep citing scholars and how they all agree. Who cares if they agree, if Allah doesn't instruct us to follow scholars why should I look up scholars. I follow only the Quran because the Quran is the word of Allah and the Quran is complete and enough. Stop trying to make additions and implications to what Allah has already made clear and simple

      @SiuPouvalu 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@aliforMayor I don't have the wrong intention nor was I misguided. I follow the Quran exactly as it says. I do not seek scholars and their opinions. I ask Allah directly to guide me. Surah Al Fatiha is repeated in every prayer for guidance, not Hadiths not scholars. Allah is sufficient for me! Assalamu alaykum

@@SiuPouvalu I totally understand you، most scholars have made the hijab something that is to be forced and none of them even understand what it is like to be a girl and not want hijab, I agree completely the attitude they came with ruined it All but if you don’t mind me sharing my view on it, it is your choice completely whether you want to cover yourself or not, now whether you will enter paradise or not I think you will because Allah wants a good heart as he states in the Quran but you will be asked about it that’s for sure and you won’t get the highest level but my view on it is that before it is for protection it is a spiritual practice for Allah عزّ وجل it is a worship to him and that comes before the protection. Now what I mean by derived is; the word خِمار, throughout time and different events happening, gave us the word خُمُر the difference between the two is plural meaning خُمُر just means more than one خِمار because Allah عزّ وجل is trying to relay this to All muslim woman. The verse starts with [tell oh Prophet the believing woman lower their gaze and guard their chastity, and not to reveal their adornments i.e., hair, arms, and legs. except what normally appears i.e., the face, hands, outer clothes, rings, kohl, and henna. Let them draw their veils over their chests, and not reveal their ˹hidden˺ adornments i.e., hair, arms, and legs.] This implies an obligation. Why? Because there is only an order, an instruction to do so. What I mean by imply is that it suggests the meaning (indirectly) thats literally what the definition is. Why did Allah عزّ وجل not say “if they want to”? No one is forcing it is your choice but I am not supposed to look at your hair because it is sacred and must be protected and it would be ظلْم (wrong doing) otherwise because I am basically nothing to you I don’t give you anything and when I see your hair I feel something I shouldn’t be feeling. Allah عزّ وجل instructs us to not follow some scholars as some just want the praise but if you stick with one meaning from the Quran it can give you a twisted view of the meaning as Allah balances everything in the Quran where he also says ثم اتبع سبيل من أناب اليه [and follow the path of the one who turned to me] the only reason I am obsessed with the hijab is because I love the girls in my life and I want them to protect themselves, not force them if they reject I won’t be mad at them nor hurt them, hell to me then if I do that. I love my wife and she is mine and mine only so no other man will get a look at her hair because it is mine, not in the sense that she is my slave, No. But she is mine to love and Allah provided her for me and provided me for her.

@@SiuPouvalu look sister, honestly just try to make peace with I said, Hijab is a big step whether you believe it’s obligatory or not. And Allah All mighty (hijab or not) will reward you, you found the truth and took it upon yourself to change for him congrats on reverting, so just be at peace with even those that hurt you as the was how the Prophet upon whom be peace interacted with the people who rejected him. I mean no harm in what I say and I hope you only get closer to Allah Amen
