This reminds me of some years ago near Gede town in Kilifi county. I was stopped by KDF guys at a roadblock. After checking the car and not finding any faults, the asked me, “Mama si utupatie chai?” Told them naenda hapa karibu na nitawaletea chai. Went bought a Thermos flash and plastic cups, got in a kiosk and bought tea and mahamri. I could see their smiling faces when I pulled my car and gave them the flask. What they said was later relayed to me by the person I was driving with. He had gone to take the flask. You can imagine what they told the guy!
