    I started on a suzuki bandit 1250, the power wasnt an issue, getting used to the weight was real though

    Congrats! I have many bikes and my 2000 Bandit 1200 is one of the easier ones to ride as far as the handling. It is a bit heavy but that feeling goes away as soon as you start moving. Just be careful at first with the acceleration, the short wheelbase makes it easy to pull wheelies in the first couple of gears!

      Thank you!
      Completely agree! As a new rider, I find the Bandit to very easy to ride (despite the weight, which as you say, goes away once you get moving)
      Very good advice. I am still very much taking my time with the throttle, as even in 3rd, at 3/4 throttle it feels like the front end wants to lift!
      Do you have a favorite bike among your collection?

      I guess it depends on my mood. lol Sometimes I take the Bandit, My 2000 ZRX1100, My 2005 Busa, or one of my cruisers - I like my 1996 1500 Kawasaki classic. I ride an old 1986 Kawasaki concours 1000 as my daily commute to work and back. I just bought a 2008 Suzuki C109RT and it is ok - just a bit big and heavy, it is fast though! I am up to around 30 bikes now, but I only ride 10 on the road at a time (Insurance / Registrations / inspections add up)! The older I get (I am 62), the more I like the upright riding position. I can`t really say which is my favorite, I like them all (as you probably guessed).@@accelerateyoutube

    I have had 2 bandit 1250's, and now have a vfr 800... You wont be able to get a vfr now, the engines dont even compare, I know bhp numbers are about the same, but... it's just not comparable. How come you went for the 1200 and not the 1250?

    • @accelerateyoutube
      @accelerateyoutube  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh wow, that's interesting! I have heard great things about the VFR, but the Bandits seem to be universally loved!
      The Bandit 1200 is apparently tuned for torque not BHP (as it's based on the older GSXR engine) making it a great cruiser (which is what I was looking for)
      That's a good question...the honest answer is, my cousin Kenny had a 1200 Bandit, I had a very good go on it, bonded well with the bike, and he actually found this one for sale for me. It was a case of this one came up at the right time, and I knew what to expect. I didn't really think of the 1250.
      Thank you for watching & commenting!

      @@accelerateyoutube Hmmm yes the vfr is an excellent bike, but I dont think you would be able to have one now, it would feel like a downgrade engine wise. Fair enough in regards to why you got the 1200, I have had a 600 bandit as well as my 1250's and I loved it, preferred it to my 97 fireblade I had at the time even. I do need to try a 1200 at some point, see how it compares to the 1250, I do worry that I may prefer it. Cheers, congrats on the bike at any rate!

      @steady2wheels ah OK, I feel like I made the right decision then!
      I really want to try a 600 now just to see the difference. (I also want to try a Fireblade for that matter lol)
      Thank you mate! 🙏

      @@accelerateyoutube You definitely did mate, going to a 600 is going to be strange, but that is the great thing about bikes is that they are cheap enough, and hold their value enough to change them out when you fancy, Im 33 now, been riding since I was 17, had over 20 bikes now including a couple of fireblades. They all offer something interesting, really nice to see someone getting properly into the scene and being passionate about it! Have fun buddy
