I love these tutorials. I use GW and Vallejo acrylic paints for my Warhammer 40K armies. but you've inspired me to to buy inks and washes to try this method. Thanks.

I've been referring to inks as "instant talent" since I started using them.

I love the speed painting technique. You really turn out some great results and put together an impressive table on game night I’m sure. While I don’t mind the purple, I wish there was a bit more variation in the highlights and shadows. Maybe adding a dry bush down the back (or wherever “sunlight” would hit) would help put the figure that last little step over the top.
Thanks for sharing, my son wants to pick up the figure and try himself now so thank you for that.
Looking forward to the next one.

My owlbear is purple and they really grab the players attention when they are purple, the are pretty cool looking no matter which way you paint it
(Edit) my owlbear also has black eyes like in the monster manual

Haha, so purple! I was skeptical but it actually kind of works. Reminds me of the original dungeon armor for druids in World of Warcraft. Thanks for the video Mr Jarrett!

the inks look really good but I dont own any inks when & why would you use inks rather than paint sorry if you have answered this already

I think this would be a good mini to revisit with a full paint job video to juxtapose the speed paint version. There is a lot that can be done with feathers, and you can compare the results of a speed paint versus a full paint and explore some of the ways you approach each differently.

I just came back to the hobby after a 30 year break. I need you to clarify something. Is ink different than the acrylic paint? It seems to be thinner and puddle up in the lower areas. I didn't know if that was a different product or thinned down paint. Thanks, amazing looking owlbear.

Kirk Shipp yes - ink is water based and much thinner, more vibrant, and more translucent than acrylic paint.

Thanks for introducing me to speedpainting with ink, finally gonna get the ones that have been sitting here for way too long done! Are you considering making a video on how you do your bases btw?

Tim probably not as I show it in some of the earlier Nolzurs vids like the halfling or the fighter.
