I was just talking with a friend about how one of Tracey's songs took us way back...and I just happened to look her up again and found this song. WOW! This just takes my breath away...Perfectly captured the fear and sadness that encompasses the topic. Every time it happens, it spooks the whole herd. Everyone around them examining their own relationships and hating to see a pair part. Such a powerful, emotionally invested song on so many levels.

i have pairs and pairs of headphones, but just on hard carbon, straight youtube over the air; you cannot beat tracey. what she has to share here is so elemental, fundamental, real, opposite of dishonesty. then you have to do the lyrics, the lyrics are stunning, who can get away with saying what she says, tracey can and we all know these truths; and we're better off having them sung to us; brava pls help take what you find here and share w others

Bloody TH-cam!!! (Too many NASTIES...) I read Tracey Thorn's book recently... (the auto-bi one, not the one about singing which I have ordered!!!) and it's just so HER... (She takes her ART so seriously and then seems AMAZED when WE do too!!!) She's JUST such an incredible singer and WRITER... (SHE does not seem to be particularly AWARE of this fact!!! Or if she is she is more matter-of-fact about it than WE are!)

(As far as I am aware TT is still happily married to Ben Watt and they have kids... I, as someone who has never married and has no kids was moved to genuine eye-full by that short sentence and the image/emotion it conveys. And the way she sings it...)

Her book is called 'BEDSIT DISCO QUEEN' and if you are REMOTELY interested in 'pop music' as a genuine art form then you MUST read it... (It's also very funny in parts!)
In case you think this is a FAN RANT, (and it kind of is!) after reading Tray's book I checked out some Marine Girls stuff... (Let's just say it wasn't 'EDEN' or EVERYTHING she's ever done since!!!)

Fantastic! I absolutely love this song and album.
SONG FACT: Tracey wrote the 'Oh The Divorces' after hearing about Katie & Peter's messy public break up. Tracey has been a huge fan of the Mysterious Girl singer since first hearing his song 'Funky Junky' back in the early 90's. It's rumoured that Tracey and partner Ben are writing songs for Peter's next album and are hoping to tour with him in 2011.
