Actually, Elvis didnt look too bad. Maybe it's the picture. I watched this live Hawaii concert on TV and we had that album. He certainly put on a great show and he was still easy on the eyes. Thanks for great video, love watching!!
Hi George, Love the lady vase you scored. Also the stylized Haeger pieces and the old phone sign! In one part of town here, there is still a phone booth up, no phone but just the shell. I want to take a photo in it, but it’s always dark when we are over there. I have to soon before this relic gets torn down. Enjoyed your video tonight. 🐳
My hometown of Garfield, NJ, has a pool hall that was converted from a bowling alley, with a bar in front. The bar has an inside, sit-down phone booth which I always loved. I have moved out of state, so I don't know if the establishment is there, let alone the phone booth. The place is just historically rich!
April Anonymous I imagine! New Jersey is often maligned and overlooked, but there's so much colonial stuff left and tons of great antiques and vintage! The place you describe sounds similar to the old Bay Bowl in Bremerton, WA during my childhood, a WWII leftover that was fun and atmospheric
George! Please get me the lucite glitter candles and bring them to Florida! 😊 I want 2 blue and 2 of any color. Also some Flamingos 🦩 I will meet you in St. Pete. I really want shadowbox mirros too. Please 😃
I'll do my best! Those are great items and I'll hunt for more, they've been popular and I'm a bit low but I'll see what I can do before my visit at the end of July
Hi George its your friends from Canada again. Great video as always. This has been the longest time in 30 years that we are not able to purchase antiques. Stay safe.
Thank you for joining, I hope you had fun seeing different things! It's strange to have to do all my antiquing online, I really prefer to touch and see in person. I hope you're able to get out some this summer, I know things are locked up tighter up there.
I currently sleep in my mom's old 1930s waterfall bed, which also included as part of the set the vanity and chest. Her parents had three daughters & built two bedrooms with a bathroom between them for the younger two. My mother was the oldest, and to make up for the fact that she didn't get one of the new bedrooms, she was given instead the new waterfall set. I am extremely sentimental & just can't get rid of her set. It needs some repairs.
I really like that furniture, it doesn't have sharp edges, it isn't terribly heavy with a massive frame and it usually can be fixed or cleaned up well...plus I just love the styles of that era. When I was really little and we went to Salvation Army, that was the old furniture they were selling cheap, so that's what my sister had in her room.
I do have the ruby swan, if you are interested please send an email to me at theantiquenomad@gmail.com. I wish I had the other pieces for you, but I think they're all sold. I'm not sure which stool that was but I'll look again.
I'm looking forward to going back there as well! Thanks for watching, please like/subscribe and tell your friends if you haven't already, and we'll have more for you soon!
Sorry I missed the live show. The last antique mall in Bardstown is now officially a realty office and tattoo parlor. My seasonal allergies here in Kentucky have really gotten me down. When ragweed blooms, I may not survive. As always a great video, Thanks.
Yes, I was sorry to see Bardstown lost its Mall and only had a few shops. My video next Wednesday features the one place in Bardstown I found things, so we'll see you then and I hope the pollen also crests while we're indoors
That little Goebel cardinal was beautiful. I do love birds, actually I have a few as well (real ones) They are very funny. I always thought that Goebel made the Hummels only and I don't like dolls very much so I never really looked at them. I create doll houses but NO dolls in them. lol you have a great day and safe travels
Thanks so much. You have satisfied my need for vintage treasure hunting at least for a little while. I would not have been able to leave the store without the lamp and the fantastic shade. Great video George.
Great content George. Ooohhh, loved that shade on that lamp. That color doesn’t thrill me, but the shape and triangles were super. Very unusual.🤗👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
