I will say, for those not trying to purchase 100+ rolls at a time, aliexpress has some great sellers where you can get 10+kg of pla/petg for ~$6 a roll (and cheaper with cashback or good store coupons) during their sales events.
As an example. Was able to grab 20kg kingroon hs-petg for $5.25/kg (before cashback), 20kg kingroon tri color for $9.25/kg (before cashback) and 10kg jayo (sunlu) matte pla for $7.50 (before cashback).
Never had issues with any of the rolls from them and the perk with the aliexpress rolls is it ships "locally". I.E. mine ships from NJ (kingroon wearhouse) and Kentucky(sunlu).
You arent buying direct from the manufacturer (though somtimes your are) and hey are just resellers that bought a stock quantity in that respective area.
Very true
Absolutely Correct. That adage is very true - 'You get what you pay for.'
@@alpscraftshack599 what? Having used polymaker, protopasta and other "premium" brands, there is 0 difference in quality or print results that I can notice between cheaper and more expensive
@@alpscraftshack599 ?
What if you don’t run a business, and you just want to print more without spending a ton of money?
Great info! Thank you for sharing, sir
You're welcome
Check out forest shipping. They are a logistics and freight forwarder. You get a portal so you can see where your shipment is in the process. Most manufacturers wont deal with you bugging them about where your stuff is.
all of mine are very responsive
I will stick with using only Bambu refills for my farm. I print all of my products in ABS and never have any failures. I am fine with $14 a spool. I sell only products that I have personally designed that get a premium price due to what they are, but the quality needs to match the price. My stuff almost looks injection molded with how I have the machines tuned to that filament.
That's perfectly fine!
Ok bud
Can you give me some pointers on my etsy?! pedazo.Etsy constructive criticism from anyone is welcomed.😊
The items are cheap but to the U.K. the shipping is very high.

@@Dancyn3Dprintsdo you ever use Temu ?
Makes you wonder why he has affiliate links to amazon when he buys filament from alibaba.
If only you watch my video.. I show people the brands I use.. and I tell them to order from alibaba
@@Dancyn3Dprints Oddly enough, I did watch the video. And read the description.
But I don't wanna buy cheap filament. 😢
Cheap as it it costs so cheap!
Filament...American filament, Russian Filament...ALL MADE IN CHINA!
I've seen posts about filament width inconsistencies, and I've seen some pictures that show, its like 1.75, then bulges out to 2 or 2.5 then back, etc. Its going to cause issues and headaches if it damages your equipment and machines. I'll keep buying mine from bambu directly and waiting on sales etc.
@@Trallo-cc2ne yall do realize how much money this guy has made using this filament? lmao.
@@Trallo-cc2neMaybe you should actually look up how many OEM filament makers there are (hint, Bambu does NOT make their own)
And unless you are using weed wacker line, no one is getting 2mm, let alone 2.5 unless it was just purely a bad roll (which happens to every single manufacturer).
If you are spending $20+ a roll for PLA (all, including tri color silk, except cf (which should still be sub or at $20), petg (all types except cf as noted above) or abs, you are clowning yourself
I use kingroon pla and petg all the time with 0 issues and great prints. Grab it off Ali for $5-$7 depending on the type and it ships from more or less "local" (aka, not from China).
Probably should learn at this point in life that expensive != Better and cheap != Worse
I buy all my cars at police auctions

@@Dancyn3Dprints lol
You're so generous with valuable business information. That's so rare. Thank you
I buy from sunlu. By far their filament has been really good i havent had any issues.there prices are usually always lower. And sunlu has a real nice option, they have a recycled filament program where they sell 1kg rolls for $10 a kg. They sell per 10 pack. Either all black or a random color 10 pack for $99. I personally have gotten both and printed with alot this recycled pla filament and i cant even notice a difference. Theres even a few other types filament like petg.
How much do EU/US filament producers discount, if you're buying 500 to 1000 rolls at a time?
If (when!) I have a business, I would much rather use 100% made in EU filament and use that as a marketing advantage. If my customers are paying me "premium" by not buying the same service or product from china for half the price, then I only see it fair that I also support European companies with my material purchases.
But it certainly matters what your customer base is. If you're mainly selling funny trinkets and flower pots, having a price that is the same or lower as your competition is probably going to net you more than the "made with EU materials" sticker, versus having mainly business clients who might be also buying modeling services, at which point the filament cost is insignificant anyway.
Currently I am just a student hobbyist, I just received 6 rolls of Sunlu for 9,83 €/kg. No problems with the filement and I'm happy for the price, but I will be happier when I can comfortably afford Made in EU filament.
Let me make something for youuuuuuuu. Pls pls pls . There must be something you dont want to spend time and effort on . Instade of buying per kg filaments you can buy per kg final product . Can we talk pls pls pls
I've used Alibaba for other industries. I enjoyed their process and catalogs
The barebones-ness of leaving in the “stop recording” click inside obs. I love it. Keep it up, and thank you for clarifying some things on this, lots of people are hesitant to order via Alibaba as was I, I’ve ordered tho and been very satisfied tho I recommend everyone to get an business ein filed and setup before you order anything bigger than 4-5 hundred dollars worth of plastic you’ll end up saving your ass loads in taxes it really only makes sense at that point anyway. Just my two cents on it.
@@DOSEDKID I made that point in the video.

@@PhuVet I’m hoping for a Black Friday sale 😂 🤞🏼 got my eyes on a p1s combo
@gabrielsoriano412 I'm buying an ams this week, probably. I'll end up with 3 going by my plans. I have enough room for 3 to make a sealed low humidity box. I don't like touching spools very often because it adds oils from your skin and dust particles. I'm used to working mainly with food grade injection molding, and that stuff counts. I'm hoping that people catch on to how much it does. They finally figured out the humidity thing. I was telling people in 2008 about it, and people thought I was crazy. Not that me being an engineer in thermal injection molding, mattered to them.
It was actually about the business EIN that got me. Never knew you get tax exemptions on consumables for your business. Definitely a hidden pro tip 😊
It's not actually a hidden tip lol. Standard business practice. You shouldn't ever pay taxes on something you are turning into product to sell. The consumer will pay those taxes when they buy the end use product.
It's a tip for those who don't know
@@spencerlange125 I've never started a business but I have done contract/ freelance work. Nobody told me anything about being a contractor. I just had to do it and fail at it. However, didn't stop me from making myself better through research and spreading that information to others. Same with starting a business. I tend to do more research before rushing into something, so when I say this is a tip. It is a tip. Most average people do not start out knowing these sort of details, like me. Maybe try to think back when you started your business? Was there a time you wished you knew something earlier?
@@darkalleywaystudio3975 I wasn't attacking you but okay. Still, it's not like... secret information. It's just something you learn as a standard part of business.
And it's not hard for me to think back to when I started my business because it was only 2 years ago. But I was raised by a large family of entrepreneurs, so this is all like second nature to me. Ive been listening to my parents talk business since I was able to understand words.
I never buy cheap filament - sunlu or Elegoo - thats it.
I use Prusament, 3dxtech, printed solid and sometimes polymaker. But i print more than just PLA. I wanna design something and sell a $1,000 prints to manufacturers, and other businesses.
@@SpectraV3i that's the goal
I've always been scared of buying from Alibaba, soooo...
No need
Drinking the main stream media kool-aid. It's time to wake up.
AliExpress and Alibaba have more buyer protections than eBay. I've spent 10's of thousands of dollars and only had 2 issues over the last 10 years. One was a packet of strawberry seeds ($0.25) that never showed up. And the other was a security camera that was shipped with the wrong protocol, it took 2 weeks to finally get an address to send the item to in Philadelphia (around $300), I did receive my refund. More expensive items ship quickly and they have tracking, the sellers don't get paid until you get your item, for AliExpress at least. There is no better way to get items while skipping all the middle men.
Sooo stay scared 😁
Super valuable information. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!

Well i got 2kg pla from aliexpress for 12$ each. I am only starting 3d printing and it's good enough for me.
Apparently they got some clearance sales. I don't intend to do it a business at all...
not everyone uses PLA
This doesn't apply to just pla
Noooo😂😂 I just bought 20 rolls yesterday. If only it was a few days earlier lol.
That’s alright tho got them for $15.50 each Ca
You'll always need more filament
I never had problems with cheap filaments though they're mostly not high flow. So if I don't have many prints I can print slower. The difference is when you switch temp to higher than recommended with cheap filament because you're printing fast, smaller elements will print slower anyways which means at the same temperature material is pushed slower and it causes different issues.
I’ve always been really hesitant to purchase from Alibaba. Thanks for this video! This is really helpful to me.
Sunny is my sunlu rep. She calls me dear. I imagine her to be some aged grandma, but I think it is just a translation error.

I totally agree with the OP here.
I'm a hobbyist that is taking his time to become educated in print farming/starting my own 3D printing business. I'm focusing on printing Sci-Fi "starship" models for the DIY community. Most models are geared towards the purchase of a finished product. Not one but a hobbyist can finish himself and save money.
This being said, I have reached out to several filament brands and have received samples once giving them a viable business model and not simply saying.....
"Hey. I need some free filament then a discount."
But if you have no intentions in growing your hobby into a business, then why should you receive discounts or samples? How are you helping to manufacturers out and why should they invest in you?
Currently to date, over the last 4 months, I have received 24 sample rolls from SUNLU alone.
It should be noted that in return, I've also helped at least 10 other businesses get started with them.
