Onboard the summer Saturday only, East Midlands Railway HST service which runs from Nottingham through to Skegness, replacing the usual sprinter units. The set is completely declassified and is used to take the extra volume of passengers to/from the coast during the busy summer weekends.
We picked up the service from Nottingham,, where it continues to call at Grantham, Ancaster, Sleaford, Swineshead, Bolton, Wainfleet and Skegness.
I had a lovely journey over to Skegness on a HST it will be sad when they get replaced.

Wait the description says it is declassified does that mean you can sit in first class for a standard class fare?
Yes beacuase it's a regional route if it was to London you wouldn't be allowed to sit there

Window hangers like this is why they stopped the HST sets early the other week.
I live on this line and I can tell you it doesn't go via Grantham it goes via Allington Junction meaning it avoids Grantham
hmmm it's wierd that it did go via grantham it normally doesn't

IKR They don’t go to Grantham anymore sad times
@@Ed_Gilbert they do go to grantham, but the HST sets were too long to fit on the turning platform at grantham so they didn't stop there
How did this only take an hour yet the Class 153 vid took 2 hours, when I did this route it took 2 hours...have I missed something? 😄

This takes 1 hour as the 153s stop at more places

class 153s don't run on this line, 156s and 158s do though
