Tilapia is currently the most widely cultured fish in the world, with aquaculture now accounting for over 20 percent of the global seafood harvest. To make up for predicted shortfalls in wild harvest, the tilapia industry is responding, not only in its former strongholds throughout southeast Asia, but also in the Americas, the Caribbean, and now throughout Africa.
Monosex tilapia farming has taken an important role in the fish farming business throughout the world. Monosex tilapia has great demand and value in the local and international markets.
As a result, the Monosex tilapia farming rate is growing day by day. There are some other important reasons for gradually increasing Monosex tilapia farming.
Generally, they have a high ability to take natural feed from the pond, good interest in supplementary feed, surviving capacity in adverse weather and they have high disease resistance power.
Monosex procedure process:
Tilapia eggs will be transferred to one of the six McDonald hatching jars of the tilapia incubation system plug and play. Each hatching jar has a volume of 8 liters at a density of max. 20,000 eggs per jar, resulting in a total density of 120,000 eggs per cycle. Please check out our smaller tilapia incubation system (with three hatching jars) if you require a system for smaller production. After a period of 3 to 5 days, the eggs will hatch. After hatching the yolk sac fry will flow out of the jar into a white reception tank. After complete yolk sac absorption, the fry should be transferred to the tilapia fingerling systems.
