An easier way for Trevor to retrieve his bodhi is to switch from him to Michael or Franklin and then after a few moments, switch back to Trevor in his usual shenanigans and his bodhi should be parked nearby or at his trailer
the mechanism of NPC stealing your personal vehicle is done so that this helps eases the traffic caused by the player. this also happens if you block a storyline character while they're in a car

I've seen cops take civilian cars to do a chase, even once got chased by the cops as Micheal in Michaels car. Also did a chase where I was Micheal in a car, switched to Trevor and put him in a car (they will drive on their own) and got them in the same place and had a chase.
Once i got Trevor's truck stolen while he was shopping at discount store. I park it at the front door and then when I'm done shopping i realize the truck wasn't there anymore, and i see personal vehicle icon moving at the mini map. Ended up chasing that mf for 15 minutes straight before torture him the trevor way.😂
