    Does it have shortcuts in the ui? Like hold for moon or double tap for turbo?

    Please do try the fenix brand, (Fenix HP30R V2.0 Ultra)

      I wish, but Fenix said they don't support channels with less than 10K subscribers.

      There are even better quality flashlights than these! maybe they should be the only ones you promote on the channel and there is no rival, they are too shy to say that's what they want to convey! I think this channel is the right way to review and there is no beating around the bush

    I can forgive the UI if the performance is like this. This is what I was hoping the TS10 performed like. I'm actually most surprised by its throwiness. Most lights this size can barely make it to 100 meters. Love that it's got a constant current driver on top of it. Thanks for the review! I'll grab one for my backpack; been needing a second EDC for awhile now.

      The world of optics is getting bigger and likely won’t go away… and I hate that lol.. you can’t beat a emitter beak pattern… if you want lep like beam pattern then it’s ok, but getting the throw/flood ratio has not been done yet.. it either throws hard or floods a lot with a massive hot spot.. I can almost tell any optic light just by the beam pattern.

    Is the SC28 any good.? Seems it has a really bad UI with some sort of flash after 5 seconds that no-one wants. It's not on Sofirns website so maybe they have abandoned it? btw I made a comment here an hour ago on this vid and google said a comment was removed and gave me a warning but no explanation? What's that about? See if this one stays up?

      Hi, that's odd, maybe it was flagged as spam.
      I haven't really used it. Sofirn sent it to me for review without even asking, it just showed up so I decided not to review it. The design and beam profile is very good, but that UI isn't great. The old Convoy drivers used to flash after 3 seconds on the low mode for changing groups just the same, everyone hated it just the same as well. Sofirn are going to update the UI in the next batch.

      @@PiercingTheDarkness Probably why they are on sale so I couldn't resist and at least it comes with a 5000mah 21700. That flash thing is a terrible idea. As some-one else said it should have been 5 clicks or something simple to change mode. Bad idea there Sofirn otherwise seems a decent light. Strange about the comment thing as the warning came after I made the comment here and when I went back to the vid it was gone but it there was nothing offensive or whatever so very strange. Just an AI glitch in the matrix lol. Apparently the SC28 is a heater.

      @@PiercingTheDarkness BTW I got the SC28 and after a day found I liked it for various reasons so bought another and one for a friend who ATM uses a AAA pound shop light lol. The 28 is more of a flooder so good for indoors also but looking again at the vid I can see the throw of the little P12R is good but seems very similar to the SC18. Does the SC18 step down to less than 400/500 lumens? I don't know but I'm guessing it does as you stated the larger lights are not able to hold output as well but I do like the SC28 big battery and so longer run time. What does the 28 step down to? I do like a 14500 as a small backup (have a TrustFire L2 1000 lumens) but that P12R is quite a large 14500 light though on it's own with a few spare batteries it looks like good performer so I have to agree with your assessment.

    Hold for off, no thanks

      As per my conclusion "some aren't going to like the UI"
      Mainstream brands seem to use this UI. When the sustainable output is so high for the size, I can look past the hold for off! It's pretty damn amazing when many larger models hold less.

      @@PiercingTheDarknessoutput sustain is indeed impressive.

      Man, that light would be perfect if not hold for off. That sustained output is incredible for a 14500 light

    I’m so annoyed at this point of how saturated the market is of these 1200-3000 lumen 200-300 metre lights… like.. it’s so boring

    • @PiercingTheDarkness
      @PiercingTheDarkness  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What would you rather see?
      I challenge you to find another this size that sustains 450-500 lumens, there's not many that can do this, so it's not really just another of the same. I think it's so awesome for on the farm, I can also hunt possums and rabbits with this out to 100m. Clip it onto a hat and you have a 240m headlamp, sustaining more than most headlamps even.

    • @AverageReviewsYT
      @AverageReviewsYT ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PiercingTheDarkness people who are needing a farm light aren’t looking for $50 for mediocre performance.. woo it can sustain 500 lumens.. well.. so can a higher lumen light that’s around or below $50.. the output drops, and so does the throw.. 500 lumens won’t get u the same throw as the 1200.. and to add to that.. a headlamp is far more secure and easier to use than clipping a flashlight to a hat… that you have to wear… to use it.. and it’s not as easy to get in tight spaces like under equipment without being knocked off.. all nitpicky sure.. but I’d rather take a headlamp for “hat attire” and use a better light for distance. Out of all the type of work I do, I have never needed to use a flashlight on a hat.. a headlamp or a flashlight is all I need.. sure there’s situations, but a headlamp is always the fall on to. On to the point of my oc, there’s so many light with this type of performance, and they all look very close to each other overall… sure some have gimmicky features, and some have fun features to use.. but overall, they’re the same specs ina different host. Beam pattern is close to each other most of the time, lumens is about the same.. same mediocre step down times and temps.. ui that’s kinda the same.. sideswitch.. stepped. 3-5 modes.. lol.. although I did pick up the td02 and even though it fits in this category, the tail switch only is nice.. it’s a present.

      @@AverageReviewsYT I'm a farmer though mate and it's of interest to me 😊 so very very odd to tell me that it's not of real interest for a farm light.
      I never wear a cap, it was just an example because many do. I personally use a headband that has 3 mounting loops on it to attach a flashlight, so that's way more secure. One on each side and one on the top.
      As you know, I run a hunting flashlight company, and the need for a wee model like this to have in your pack is quite sort after.
      My interests are very, very different to most into this hobby.

      @PiercingTheDarkness most people on a farm or a setting like that eould be better off with a different light.. as you stated, your interests are different than alot in the hobby lol.. id reccomend a zoomie headlamp for people who are damned to have both lol. I had one and honestly i couldnt have been happier.. well.. up until a trailor smashed it lol

      @PiercingTheDarkness i just see no reason to have a light like this execpt for edc things and close range looking.. which is still beside the point of this light.. its a saturated market and everyone makes these.. id like to see other forms of these, or better or different specs or features.. just theyre alll too close to being the same
