My prime meat spoils in no time flat. I can't even cook them on a camp fire right when I get prime meat. What gives? My settings to low or high for spoil time?
Can i use a refrigerator instead of preserving bin as long as i use the same ingredients? I have a crap ton of prime meat and using a preserving bin will burn the spark powder twice as fast since it's used both to power the bin and in making the jerky.
Hi @Ian Smith, that's a great question! Unfortunately, making jerky is the only thing you need a Preserving Bin for if you have a refrigerator. Ark has pretty good real-life logic and the preserving bin works by drying out food to preserve it, which is how you make jerky in real life. Since the refrigerator works by cooling food to preserve it, it won't work to make jerky. Also Cryopods last twice as long in the fridge, but don't get any bonus from a Preserving Bin.

I've been thinking about doing some kid-friendly dinosaur safari videos on Ark and just fly around some of the cool dinosaurs without any of the hunting or being hunted that might terrify children lol. Do you think kids would like that?
Yay, another video! Short one this time though, haha. BTW I solved my computer conundrum! I wasn't going to be able to get the computer this year anyway cause I was going to have to buy a whole new gaming computer, but I was able to get my hands on an Xbox, so now I have Ark on there plus the Center and Ragnarok. I started a game on Ragnarok, but I think it was just too much and I was still learning the controls, so I started a game on the Center and I am LOVING the Center map so far! It's like a mix of the Yucatan and the South China Sea! One thing is bothering me about S+ though- they didn't add the triangle roofs etc for the thatch tier! I know it's not useful for PVP but a lot of people play ark to do cool architecture and I was so looking forward to building little Neolithic Huts, but no. But overall I'm really loving the Center Map. I think it'll take me a while to work up to Ragnarok- it's just so big! I'll probably want to get Scorched Earth next when I can! Any tips or beginner base suggestions for the Center? I started initially on Jungle North but it was covered in Allo's so I'm on Tropical Island North now...
Sorry I missed the premiere again! I keep scheduling them when I think I'll be able to catch the chat but my schedule has been all over the place. That's so great that you got an Xbox :) Now you get all the cool updates and maps too! And Scorched Earth sometimes goes on sale for like $10. It really embraces the desert life. I really enjoyed The Center myself. It's a beautiful map full of jungles and ruins. I first played Ark on The Island with training wheels settings and mostly just had fun, but my first real game with all default settings was The Center. That's where I learned to live on a raft and be terrified of whales lol. There's a serious whale problem on the center but they don't go near the coasts at all on Ragnarok. So the NorthEast tropical island on The Center is actually a great place to start on the beach. There's lots of metal and crystal on the upper cliffs but you can access it through the jungle. Not too much dangerous stuff wanders the beaches there. You will need to brave the whales with a raft to leave the island though. I eventually moved my main base to a huge ruin on the SouthWest coast but it's really dangerous there so I do NOT recommend starting there. Hmm that is super weird! It should work after about 36 minutes. Did you ever figure it out? Sometimes an item will glitch and you have to make another preserving bin. What system are you playing Ark on?
Thanks so much :) So Ark on PS4 and XboxOne are pretty similar in power. I've heard some say Xbox runs a bit better. But the big difference is PS4 Pro and XBoxOneX are Much better for running Ark. That's where you get near movie quality. A good powerful gaming PC is probably somewhere between PS4 and PS4 Pro, as you can see on my videos. Just don't go for Ark Switch if you want good performance on Ark, it's built for portability, not power.
I know my comment is far too late to be useful at this point, but ill say it anyway. For a game like Ark, you need processing power. Xbox has PS beat in that department. Xbox one S and PS4 Pro are pretty much on the same level, then Xbox One X is the next step up. Then a quality PC is obviously the most ideal choice when it comes to processing.

Mine is not working at all ive added oil spark powder and cooked meat and its not making any ive waited for bout 3 days now
