15 or 16 years ago, I got a used hammered dulcimer because I fell absolutely in love with the music and the instrument itself and because my hands were too damaged to continue playing my guitar. It was huge and incredibly heavy, and my husband had to take me to my lessons at a local music store. I only made it through 3 lessons and really learned little to nothing, although I continued to play by ear and used some Internet info sites. Frustrated, I finally stopped trying. Then my husband bought me a new, BEAUTIFUL Masterworks RCE instrument, but the same frustration soon set in because I could find no real help in learning how to play, until now. I am finally beginning to learn from your lessons and happy to be a Patreon now. I can UNDERSTAND your lessons, and the practices are very "doable." I am SO ENCOURAGED, and I cannot thank you enough!!!

Brett Thankyou so much for your website you have made here. I bought my HD a year ago but have only had 1 workshop. You have done an excellent job demonstrating. I will continue watching.

I am rewatching these as I restart my journey on the HD. So easy to understand without scrambling my brain with more chord theory than I need to know. Playing the chord shapes with your eyes closed seems helpful to training my hands apart from my eyes. Thank you.

If you have ever been in my workshops, one of the things I mention repeatedly is that we need to teach our hands to play rather than our eyes...which is what we tend to do! Thank you for commenting and glad these lessons are a help and thank you for your encouragement and support!
