Thank you very much, man! I really appreciate it. Yeah, flying around the parameter pages and tweaking stuff then reloading pattern is so fun. The DN is complex enough to allow for some cool changes, but simple enough that I can rely on muscle memory a lot of the time, with a bit of practice.
Meanwhile, back at the office, McDonnell went over the case for the 5th time, his eyes dry and brain fried. His head felt like it was full of cotton balls. He knew there was something more that he wasn't seeing, it itched the corner of his mind yet he was unable to scratch it. He took a sip of his coffee despite it being long cold - it was almost 2am after all. Tracey wouldn't be concerned he was out this late again. He'd done it many times and she was numb from the behaviour. His cell buzzed, giving him a jolt. It was a text from Adrian, "Meet me at 5idewayz, I've got some info." He wasn't looking forward to grabbing a cab at this hour and regretted having his car impounded from that stupid DUI. It was going to be a long night.
Thank you! I'm inspired a lot by Akira Yamaoka's work on Silent Hill, JRPG composers like Nobou Uematsu and Yasunori Mitsuda, Trent Reznor, Sneaker Pimps, Massive Attack, Vulfpeck, and more.
@@IvarTryti If you enjoy Sneaker Pimps you'll really enjoy Sevdaliza. Her track Rhode feels like a synth/grunge mashup that ends with a solo that reminds me of Omar Rodriguez Lopez from Mars Volta.
Nice one, any tips to get catchy bassline as this one and plenty other ? I know you play real bass but if you have some progral tricks ir idea it would be really awesome !
are you doing all of the arrangement on the digitone, or are you sequencing in FL? I still cant quite get into the Elektron interface but loads of hours in FL Studio...
I do all my arrangement on the Digitone. I'm faster at actually writing melodies in FL Studio thanks to the awesome piano roll, but I burn out faster too. Inputting notes in the Digitone's sequencer is slower in comparison. Because it only has 8 voices it's hard to overcrowd the track, and it's easier to focus on making the most out of those few voices, which is really helpful because I tend to get overwhelmed by all the options in FL Studio. Another thing I really like about working on the Digitone is the saving and reloading of patterns instantly. Once I'm happy with the current version of a pattern I'll save with FUNC+YES. From here I'll explore a ton: try a different melody, try changing parameters, add or remove p-locks, stuff like that. If it starts sounding worse than before, I'll just reload the pattern with FUNC+NO and do it again, but explore a different direction. This makes trying out new stuff really fast and safe, since saving and reloading patterns happen instantly.
I've had the Heat for about 5 months, but went through a period of trying to see how hard I could go without it. I like it a lot, but I don't always have enough time to warrant setting it up. I usually put away my gear when not in use, so the more gear I use together, the more time I have to spend setting up and tearing down.
@@mooseymoose Haha, thanks! Yeah, the whole track is just the 8 voices on the Digitone. They have been heavily processed by the Analog Heat and a plugin called Maximus though.
Ivar's Digitone Sketch collection is the best soundtrack to hunt Replicants.
Haha, thanks a lot!
You can create such analog-sounding sounds out of this thing. It's incredible
Nice soundscapes! I guess you are a professional musician.
Looove that bass sound - so deep and clear! Great work Ivar! 🙌🏻
Thank you very much, Miles!
Wow dude. That bass line is slick. And that pattern change at 1:29!
Thanks a lot, man!
Oh man, when the bass steps up a gear at 1:30! Love it Ivar, love it!
Thank you very much!
Very inspiring! Excellent drop at 1:33!!!
Thank you!
Great job!!! thanks for share your music.
Thanks for listening, Eduardo :D
This is so good, love how you use every feature of it as a part of the performance, i.e. the playing with the ratios for the lead solo at 2:00

I really dig this one! Reminds me of Fallout 1 & 2's soundtrack.
This is pure gold, Sir
Thank you very much!
I enjoyed the bass instrument, had a smooth groove. 10/10 Would headbob again.
Thank you very much!
Bellissimo
Senza ombra di dubbio
Sei porta pazienza da campionare
Thank you very much!

Amazingly good track! Brilliant advert for both yourself and the Digitone 😀
Thank you very much, man! I really appreciate it :)

Please .. a tutorial and how you made this awesomeness !
I'm definitely interested in doing more tutorials. They take a lot of planning and time to make though, so they're pretty few and far between sadly

Thank you! I can't think of any tips from the top of my head, but a lot of my bassline inspirations come from funk and NES games.
Nice one. Making me slightly regret selling the DN.
Thanks a lot man :D

Very cool
Also love tutorials
Thanks!

God damn that bass is phat. I need better bass!

Broooo wtf
This often sounds like more than 4 parts and 64 steps. Are you using the arp or something, to get more steps per pattern?
