One reason this game is great is because it helps put those singles on the market. This set was excellent! I bought a box and drafted it with friends right before the quarantine hit us. It was so much fun to draft this set and I can't wait to draft more.
I feel like the value of the cards might be misrepresented here as the Mystery Booster versions of all of these cards are worth significantly less. Anyway, great vid.
Preorder and launch day prices were much higher than they are now. At the beginning he said it was March 13th so these prices were problem accurate for the day he recorded this.
Ya everybody is sadly mistaken with the value of mystery cards, they arent going to hold any value. They arent made to be collectible, they are made for drafting and lowering the commander card prices so people can actually afford to play. Thats why 1 out of every 2 boxes has a Mana crypt. In 6 months any card in Mystery set thats worth any money now will be pennies if not $2.
I love this video so much. Was sad because of the pandemic. Now I hear the TH-cam-music in my head and am so excited to draft this. Well played, professor.
kazaable the video was probably recorded before the prices of most of the mystery booster singles was known. I played a rare pick draft and took a foil Intruder Alarm thinking it was USD80, only to find out a couple of days later it was just USD10 Edit: these are all the updated prices
buggzy I don’t know what website you’re using for prices but all of these prices are definitely higher than what the cards are being sold for on any website I checked. For example, mystery booster Animate Dead is listed at $3.50 in the video but $2.00 on most large retailers such as TCG player and star city games
@@LoxhamInABox it is almost like this video took many days or weeks to film and edit and the prices listed in the video were accurate prices he sold the cards for and then as time went on dropped. use your brain
Damn professor... that music at 14:00... you're givin me the feels! I really started having second thoughts about continuing doing youtube even tho it's such a grind... but I'm gonna keep on doing what I love. Didn't except to have an emotional self discovery watching a booster box opening goddamn....
I had so much fun opening these, I went and bought another box from my LGS. And I also wanted to support them since they had to cancel all events for a while.
Always love seeing a Professor video pop up in subscriptions, but at 1hr and 30 minutes? You're too good to us! I love seeing that Wizards is putting out good products right now between these Mystery boxes (though I may be biased given your luck in opening these) and the new commander decks. I'd love to see Wizards go back to a msrp for these products given the cost of production shouldn't fluctuate too much. Keep up the great content Professor!
I've been shadow drafting the box I managed to get, and it's been an absolute blast. Passing around that one pack with bomb after bomb was just a joy. And being able to spend a few moments with some friends before the full Stay At Home order went down was a needed boon. Pulling a bunch of expensive cards was just icing on the cake.
I love drafting with my friends and although it's not reasonable to do so right now, we're all very much looking forward to drafting this set. I bought two boxes from my LGS originally then ended up getting 2 more shipped after seeing how amazing these are. Wish wizards would keep doing products like this. I'm sure they've made an absolute killing on these boxes so maybe they'll learn!!! (We can only hope lol)
I'd agree... Buuuuut he clearly states what box he's on and or adds a box count number between each box.. so either you're memory is that of a goldfish or you're not paying attention lol sorry.
I do hope that in the future, WotC does this sort of Mystery Booster thing again - between the amount of cool reprints, value, and the fact that there were cards printed in their original frames, IMO this hit so many home runs.
On one hand I'd love to see another mystery set in the future. On the other hand I bet it'll start at $150 and gouge from there rather than being able to get in for ~$105 and be happy with the box I opened.
Ty Professor for putting these videos out I enjoy them emesncely you have kept me playing this fun game so Stay safe and good health to you professor. The Dark confidant
I love how even the cards with no monetary value are commander staples. It seems the dirt and chaff is really far and few inbetween. If your "duds" are rampant growths and nights whispers and harmonize and anger then you're lookin good overall.

He adjusted the prices by date throughout the video
Ya everybody is sadly mistaken with the value of mystery cards, they arent going to hold any value. They arent made to be collectible, they are made for drafting and lowering the commander card prices so people can actually afford to play. Thats why 1 out of every 2 boxes has a Mana crypt. In 6 months any card in Mystery set thats worth any money now will be pennies if not $2.
clearly
He uses tcg market. NO ONE BUYS AT ANYTHING MORE THAN TCG LOW. Prof, stop lying to people!
I love this video so much. Was sad because of the pandemic. Now I hear the TH-cam-music in my head and am so excited to draft this. Well played, professor.
Aren't all of the mystery booster singles worth less than the original cards? I don't understand how the math is being done in this video.
kazaable the video was probably recorded before the prices of most of the mystery booster singles was known. I played a rare pick draft and took a foil Intruder Alarm thinking it was USD80, only to find out a couple of days later it was just USD10
Edit: these are all the updated prices
he used mystery booster prices, you couldn't take the time to look up any of the card prices?
buggzy I don’t know what website you’re using for prices but all of these prices are definitely higher than what the cards are being sold for on any website I checked.
Thanks as always, Prof! These are an absolute blast to open. My very first pack had a foil Sen Triplets. So fun.
i really dislike that calm music on the 2nd box. made me feel like watching it was a "drag". zzzzzzzzzzzzz
Prayers for you and your family, Professor. Thank you for continuing to put out fun vids, and always reminding us to support our FLGS.
Damn professor... that music at 14:00... you're givin me the feels! I really started having second thoughts about continuing doing youtube even tho it's such a grind... but I'm gonna keep on doing what I love. Didn't except to have an emotional self discovery watching a booster box opening goddamn....
Thanks for providing content in these times of quarantine. It's nice to see that we can still enjoy Magic even when not playing Magic.
Love these videos and love you man! You're videos always brighten my day
I appreciate that!
I had so much fun opening these, I went and bought another box from my LGS. And I also wanted to support them since they had to cancel all events for a while.
I normally don't buy booster boxes but I'm so glad I did. Saved part of the box for a 6 person draft and cracked the rest. Such an amazing set
Thanks for making these. Stay healthy and safe!

Nice to see Unstable made its way into mystery draft
I'm a little late but that card is from future sight and is not an un card. They just for some reason made a real set mechanic into a un mechanic
That was really fun! I hope you and your family are staying safe!
It's good to see Prof actually excited about a booster box game. I was just as excited when I bought my one box.
These videos are AMAZING. I'd love to see a box count in the corner, just so (an hour in!) I can keep track of where we're at.
I'd agree... Buuuuut he clearly states what box he's on and or adds a box count number between each box.. so either you're memory is that of a goldfish or you're not paying attention lol sorry.
I’m sooooooo hyped, my box was so fire and I owe it all to you so I hope this video is great
I watch with playback speed 2x
Best professor is professor with haste
Prof is always good for a laugh! Stay safe out there professor!
