Welcome to my playground !! I have a Westfield, and those are some of the best roads in the country bar none !!!!. Great film even better soundtrack........
... I have done many caterham roadtrips during the last years on my own but this is still my favorite roadtrip movie. This exactly what it is all about. Next year I'll have to go to wales, too. Just to see what it feels like. Thank you, kind regards Jens
Of all the caterham and westfield videos i've watched... which seems to be almost all of them. I enjoyed this one the most! I never comment on vids but liked this one enough to let you know how good I thought it was! Good job!!
Brilliant video! There's loads of Caterham vids on YT but this is so much better than nearly all of them. Well done. If I ever get round to making one (a video that is, I have the car) then you've set a very high standard for others to follow, but I don't mean 'copy'. It's hard to be critical just keep it up. More!
I have just bought a red seven, and these are some of my favourite roads, so I was going to like this video anyway. But more than that, I thought it was really well filmed and edited. Really enjoyed it!
Wonderful video, thanks a lot. This is one of those, I surely will watch several times. I can't get enough from the pictures of this very beautiful landscape - and your Seven of course.
Excellent vid love the editing and the various camera angles used. Driven some of those roads myself (black mountains) and they are excellent. Also love the use of timelapse.
The music at the beginning is "An Ending (Ascent)" by Brian Eno... It's used in MANY British films or TV shows. IE, It's used in Top Gear several times.
Hey there ! Really love this video. Last week I was at the official Lotus/Caterham dealer here in TheNetherlands and they had just one video played (David Guetta - Dangerous) over and over again. So I began to search for them, for more Lotus & Caterham related stuff. I hope you don't mind to suggest this video for them in the showroom... everyday...multiple times :)
Great vid! I am ordering my Caterham tomorrow, 270 SV with the S pack, just deciding on the colour...next job is to buy a gopro and fit it to the roll bar. Very well done!
@mikurec Hi- nothing so complicated as that- simply put the GoPro camera on top of a cheapo kitchen egg timer. Rotates 360 degrees in an hour so gives a good effect when played back as a time lapse. Never managed anything like 360 degrees mind as it would invariably fall off well before that!
Nice video man. Now, how about a little inspiration? Have you heard of Mad Mike? He's the one with that crazy RX7, I think the same engine would feel really home in your caterham, although these engines also sits in the Mazda 787B and other racing Mazda's, it doesn't take up much space at all, and the sound is just pure eargasm. A 4 rotor are capable of over 1500 bhp, but you wouldn't really need that much power, but damn what a sound, it's totally worth it :) Want to give it a try?
@NiknakMotorsport Cheers! Was actually looking at a pair or fighter jets that came screaming up the valley towards at that point- if you look closely you can just spot one of them!
@ponsholm 2. I didn't consciously crop the photos to change the aspect. I created the iMovie project at 16:4 ratio, however I'm not sure if it crops the footage or compresses it to this ratio to fit. NB- TH-cam doesn't seem to be allowing me to paste the URL for the software, but if you google Timelapse Assembler+Mac you should be able to find the software I used. I think its excellent and really easy to use. Cheers.
@ponsholm Sorry for the delay in replying, haven't been near a computer for a bit. To answer your questions: 1. I used a piece of software called Timelapse Assembler for the mac to make the time lapse footage. From memory I believe I was shooting at 1 shot every 2 seconds and transformed it to 30fps, meaning that a 10 second clip was gleaned from about 10 minutes of filming, so it really didn't take all that long.
I watched this video many times, before I ordered my Seven in 2016........it is still one of the best Seven vids I've seen.
Welcome to the World of Caterham motoring! Loved the video. Makes me want to bring mine across to Wales. Thanks for posting.

its called, John Murphy - Sunshine (Adagio In D Minor)
Thanks all for the very positive comments!
Ha! The Google Streetview camera passes at 2.57!
WHERE
Of course, people who love Caterhams for sure are better than Fanboys who like to fight whether the GTR is faster or the 911.
It is a sadness i can't put my car there, because you drive on the wrong side, because i love your roads, and i wouldn't drive very comfortable
Holy shit you encountered a Google car?
Brilliant!
