This is just beautiful.. What a voice 😍 One of my songs. My dad plays this in his folk band I cry everytime as it has very special memories of my mum ❤️ one of her favourites too. Love you always mum. May u rest in peace & always look out for me ❤️
Brilliant rendition. Love hearing this is different keys But I have to ask, I can see why people change 'Salford wind' to 'smoky wind' but why change 'gasworks croft' to 'gasworks wall'? I know others have done this including major covers, but still. The repetition of 'wall' is discordant for me
Loved it. I will copy you and make my own cover. I doubt you like my stuff but you're very welcome to check it out if you care for grunge. All the best, appreciated.
What a weak comment, if you want to hear the original go listen to that….you’d have a hard time finding any decent band playing songs exactly the same over and over…good on this dude for putting it out there, please send a link to your perfect copyright rendition
@@thomasjefferson1883 TH-cam is a bit like a photocopier, if you do a copy of a copy of a copy enough times you can end up with something lost in the process. In this case the ‘Gasworks Croft’ has long since been demolished but immortalised in Ewan MacColl’s song. If you do a copy of this band doing a copy of that band doing a cover of another band the ‘Gasworks Croft’ is written out of history and never existed. I just think it is a matter of respect and courtesy to credit the person who wrote the song and to try to stick to the words that the artist wrote.
@@backgardenbusker7206 I see your point, however songs do change over time, take 12 days of Christmas, 12 collie birds is now 12 calling birds , Eric Clapton crossroad blues is not exactly like Robert Johnson’s original

I think many people don't realise it's a song about Salford, mistakingly thinking it's about Dublin.
Salfords a City next to Manchester in UK.
It would be nice if people gave a credit to the person who actually wrote it and used the words he wrote.
absolutely fucking nailed this mate !
Cheers!

You sound like the original
It is good manners to credit the person who actually wrote it and maybe sing the words that he wrote. Just saying.
