Hello so I watched your video and many others with similar. I got very inspired and I built almost exact same thing and my dining room. It's 16 ft total length a little over 2 ft wide. I originally lined it with the puppy pads and fleece over-the-top but that was a nightmare to clean and then switched over to those bathmats everybody likes. I have 12 guinea pigs all girls that are running through this thing. And within 10 minutes of me setting things up they have destroyed everything. Their litter box with the hay in it is scattered everywhere and pellets immediately. I have to litter box pay stations and 3 pellet feeding also two different water stations with a total of six bottles. They stand at the water bottles until they are emptied all over the floor. This creates an ungodly swamp mess with in about 10 minutes of me filling the bottles. I have gone back to the paper just simply because I can scoop the swamp mess out immediately after they make it. Also mine fill up their hides with poops every single night. So this has to be cleaned out daily or it becomes absolutely disgusting mess. I don't even see a shred of hay anywhere in your setup and this is your deep cleaning day where did the hay and the pellets and all the stuff they scatter everywhere go? Do I just have extremely messy guinea pigs that are out of control or do you just have really wonderful amazing clean? I have boys that are in smaller groups and they are not nearly as messy as these girls are. They actually get pissed off when I clean and they scream at me and they seem very stressed out when they remove their mess. Anybody that reads this and has any similar experiences please let me know because so far I haven't come across anybody who has the issue with the water bottles like I do. I mean they literally empty the bottles they don't leave until the bottles are emptied out on the ground and then they're happy once they've got a flood.
I noticed you switched to all bath mats on top of reusable puppy pads instead of fleece. Do you find it is easier to clean? Right now I am doing u-haul pads, and fleece but I do add a bath mat to my hay/food/water bottle area. I am switching from the u-haul to thicker pee pad and thought it may be easier to switch at the same time from fleece to just baths mats on top. Just means I will need to purchase more bath mats I only have 3 right now.
To answer the question of "How many times has your husband helped you clean" My husband died 6 years ago this July. So I can't give much of an answer on that, but prior to his passing, well it was mostly me cleaning, LOL

Pretty much! Except he married into having dogs so that was already set in stone🥰
My husband is the same way - he did not want guinea pigs! He helps with cleaning their cage though.
