Great old easy swing tune, with that big band sound. Nice to see some of the young faces I don't know yet.

Wonderful rhythm section - lovely even guitar. We don't hear enough straight 4 in a bar rhythm section work Basie style, especially from the bass. Good to see the youngsters in the section work.
Joan Chamorro is not just keeping Jazz alive; he is garnering new converts by the excellent performances of the musicians he works with. This channel captures the essence

A composition by Benny Moten. The fundamental arrangement really helped to define the Swing Era. Benny was a band leader in Kansas City was pretty much a wide open town. Many of the greats got their start there. Thanks Benny, I appreciate your efforts. I'm sure your looking down at these young musicians going , Yeah, That's It!!!!!

The former talents left the band to star internationally, or to give birth to children - but in the SAJB stable quickly a new generation is hatched. And Bennies tune obviously is again the right vehicle to teach swing!

I look back at my music teachers in the fifties & sixties and I wish I could thank them personally. But now they are gone.

Joan, you continue to inspire thousands of us all over the world...it is fascinating what you accomplish with these young players. A culture of dedication, hard work and love for making music is exemplified so well by you and the students. I hope to make the trip to visit your city and try to experience a concert...I will plan the entire trip around the goal of attempting to meet you and your colleagues and students. Each student you have taught, currently teach/direct, or will mentor in the future, is already a musical star to me.

A uno se le acaban los adjetivos para calificar cada vídeo de estos jóvenes músicos y su maestro. Es que ninguno tiene desperdicio y siempre aparece un nuevo valor. En este caso la sección de trombones es magnífica, y Jan Domenech está perfecto al piano.

Jan opens it - impeccably, with Miquel, Pablo and Carla - and the seasoned rhythm and sax sections would ride it home easily, any time, but - MAN - 1:10 - do the young brass players perform on their own part!
I said it a few years ago, at another generation change: I have no fear about the "new" SAJB - they will be fine while we say good bye to the well-known faces!

Lots of experience in the trumpet section but many of the trombonists who appear to be quite young do a great job!
