  • Rupert Spira is a contemporary spiritual teacher, writer, and artist known for his teachings on non-duality and the nature of consciousness. He is widely recognized for his clear and accessible approach to Advaita Vedanta, which is a traditional Indian philosophy emphasizing the unity of the self (Atman) with the ultimate reality (Brahman).
Spira's teachings focus on exploring the nature of consciousness and its relationship to experience, perception, and the sense of self. He often uses direct inquiry, guided meditation, and contemplative practices to help individuals recognize their essential nature as pure awareness.
In addition to teaching, Rupert Spira has authored several books, including "The Transparency of Things," "Presence: The Art of Peace and Happiness," and "The Nature of Consciousness." He also conducts retreats, workshops, and online courses worldwide, offering guidance and support to those interested in exploring the nature of reality and the path to inner peace and freedom.

Thank you so much for this valuable meditation. I did something like this on a small scale in my yoga classes to guide people to a deeper physical relaxation. only now i have fully experienced how the awareness of body and breath can be used as an entrance to give something of the understanding that your identity is separate from it. Although the concept of nonduality has only recent really come to life for me, for the most part by listening to you, this approach offers the opportunity to give people for whom the concept - or even more the experience - is unknown, a tast of who we really are. A first glimpse into how beautiful it can be. ❤
