    Nice walk around. I have my 70 yet, not a BOSS, bit a Sport Roof with a 351 Windsor. Rebuild the Motor and worked my way to interior, body panels. So here I am, purchased it in Jan, 1975. Traded my 641/2 Fastback,had a 260 ci with a 2 speed auto trans. Great car and fun to drive. But the 70 took my eye. So it was my high school car, next the family car, and now the kept car. Drove from PA to CA first assignment in the military and stayed with me 21+ years of Mil service. Allot of personal history. Going to my son and grandson when I take the big sleep. I painted the stripes on, BTW. Everything rebuilt by me. 22:43

      Very nice! Thanks for sharing. That's amazing you still have it and were able to hold on to it over the years. I get so many people that walk in telling stories about their 60s and 70s cars and how they wish they never sold them. Glad you are keeping it in the family and passing it on, that is the way to go. And thank you for your service!

    What always makes me chuckle when I see a Boss 302 for sale is that almost all of them have the rear window louvers and rear spoiler...but having lived through the muscle car era, I never saw one with either...in '69/'70 people just didn't buy rear spoilers and the louvers looked stupid we thought. It seems everyone who has one now for sale slaps the spoiler and louvers on it thinking it will look hotter I suppose (a guy who owned a Calypso Coral '69 Boss 302 in 1970.

    • @callawayclassics
      @callawayclassics  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree, it seems all of them have the spoiler and alot have the window slats, which were added on to many of them. This one is different though, it actually left the factory with both. This car was loaded up with options. You can see at 5:04 the Ford invoice listing them all
      Calypso Coral is a cool color! Bet that car was fun. Did you have it long?

      I am 72 and grew up with these cars. I do remember seeing them with louvers and rear spoiler. Maybe not prolific in numbers, but for sure they were out there. My favorite is a Grabber Blue Boss 302 with Shaker Hood, louvers and rear spoiler. That and a Grabber Blue Boss 429 are among my favorite cars of all time.

      @@shimshonbendan8730 grabber blue definitely pops when you see it. Boss 429 is one of my favorites too, it's not as well known and I feel like it is forgotten about by many

    Jad a 69 Boss e02 when new. Had rim blow steering wheel but no power steering. Honked horn when pak=rkjing with the R 60 15 wheels. Also had manual coke Where is the prop for the rear deck lid> Both were great cars!

      @callawayclassics  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Haha I'm sure everyone knew when you showed up, trying to park that thing with the horn going off. 69 was rare one, they didn't make many of those! What color? This one has a manual choke also. Trunk prop is there! You can see it on the deck lid when I open the trunk at 7:58 minute mark

      You are right, they could use a refresh but I think they are still the original pieces untouched, so I left it alone and will let the next owner decide what to do. I think it is still the original interior based on the overall condition of the car, but I can't tell for sure. Maybe someone with a better eye for Mustang interiors can chime in with any signs of re-upholstery

    Fyi 351c that you mention saying its big block. Its not.. 335 series. Its classified as a small block. Uses same bellhousing pattern as the windsor counterpart . The rocker arms and distibutor will interchange with 351m, 400, 429 and 460 motors

    • @callawayclassics
      @callawayclassics  22 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I didn’t realize that, thanks for the info! I always assumed it was a big block because I never see them swapped into 65 or 66 Mustangs….assumption being they couldn’t fit in their smaller engine bay. Looked it up and it can be done but looks like they are a tight fit. Even though it’s a small block, is the Cleveland still larger than the Windsor?

    What a Beautiful unmolested Boss 302! My second favorite car in my High School parking lot in 1972. Only surpassed by VERY LUCKY schoolmate who's father bought him a Boss 429. Lost track of him, but hope he held on to it. I'll buy this one if I win the lottery next week 😆. Only question: Is the odometer authenticated correct at 30K? If so, what a find worth the price! I enjoyed your video trip down memory lane and good luck to the future owner.

    • @callawayclassics
      @callawayclassics  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for sharing and glad I could spark a fond memory! I would also easily put this car second to the Boss 429! What an awesome car to have in general, let alone in high school! Hopefully he kept it, those hemi engines were wild and are relatively unknown today to alot of people.
      I am unsure if the odometer rolled over or not. I would lean towards it being original mileage due to the excellent condition the car is in, but I cannot say for sure because I do not have a paper trail to prove it. I always tell people to focus on the condition of the car itself and not the odometer reading, as mileage does not always guarantee condition. I have seen 100k mile cars in better condition than 10k mile cars due to the way people care for them and the conditions/places they are stored in. You can have a 5k mile car you kept in the garage for 30 years, but if that garage happens to be on the ocean and has no climate and humidity control, the salt air and moisture will eat it up.
      Thanks for checking out the video!

    The 351 Cleveland is not a big block . The head fits a 302 and a 351 Windsor . Machining is needed for the water passages . The Cleveland has a dry intake manifold .

    Lousy non era tires

    • @callawayclassics
      @callawayclassics  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yea, those radials are so terrible compared to the original bias ply...I just hate how well they handle, really wish the car felt looser like it does on bias ply tires 😜. Kidding aside, the radials are on there now because they are nicer to drive on when we take it out. We weren't taking this to shows to get judged. To each their own, but I personally would give up some "correctness" for better drivability. The ideal solution is radials that look like factory bias ply tires, best of both worlds. Thanks for checking out the video!

    Stupid pricing on these. Buy a New Hellcat and get more car!

    • @callawayclassics
      @callawayclassics  หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      And be like everyone else? 😄When is the last time you saw a real Boss 302 driving around? Or even a clone? I see a Hellcat at least once a week and I live in the middle of nowhere. I agree, a Hellcat is hands down a better car from nearly every aspect, but that's not why people buy these cars. Yes, it's faster, but everything 54 years later is faster. Hell, a minivan has more horsepower today than the Boss did. And any passenger car from the 90s has more creature comforts than the Boss. But certain people don't care about all of that when they buy and drive these cars. They want something nostalgic, cool, raw, and unique, and that's what this car gives them. It's not for everyone, but for the people it is for, they love it! Is it expensive? Yes. Supply and demand. There are only so many left of the original 8,600 made and a lot of people want them.
      Now, if you want to be like everyone else and be a hit at your next local takeover scene, I do happen to have a Hellcat for sale as well 😜
