I turned 59 recently and miss the music of the 70’s and 80’s todays music couldn’t hold a candle to the bands of rush triumph and other bands from the past
Triumph was the real deal back in the 80s... Multi-talented artists that happened to be in a rock n' roll band... Their recordings demonstated creative brilliance, their music videos were above and beyond what other bands were doing thematically back then... And they banged out hit after hit. I went to see Triumph when I was 8 years old in Vancouver. They were even better live!
F@@king love this song!!!!! Gil nails the vocals! I loved the versatility of this 3 man band! The could sing and harmonize and shred with the best of them! Best of times in the 80s listening to them!!!!
listen to the non video version of this on TH-cam music.. that's where he truly nails the vocals.. you can hear the difference in effort and emotion.. i like watching the video to reminisce but for audio the other stands out for me
Gil Moore is one cool dude with a huge presence. And what an awesome drummer. He possesses a real rocker's leather lunged voice, and sang on almost all the Triumph barnstormers: Little Texas Shaker, Nature's Child, Rock'N'Roll Machine, When the Lights Go Down, American Girls, Allied Forces, Fool for Your Love, Takes Time, Woman in Love, 24 Hours a Day, Rocky Mountain Way, etc... He gave Triumph that timeless rock your heart out feeling.
Gil Moore would have been a great lead singer for a band. I love "Child of the City" which he sang after the exit of Rik. As you state, and list above several great tunes which Mr. Moore sings.
I had no idea this was originally a Mr. Big/Eric Martin song covered by Triumph. Eric wrote this song with Neil Schon and Kevin Elson produced the demo. Mike Clink knew Kevin and they presented the song and Gill handled the vocals - The Double Stop Podcast -Ep 99 with Eric Martin
Holy ghost... My real electric guitar wizard with a nice voice and the male charisma... My biggest guitar influence... "Rocket", you are amazing! I begin to learn to play the electric guitar in a professonal way with a wonderful guitarist who even shared the stage with you! We start our online lessons in February! Thanks a lot that you still inspire me! You are my guitar hero over 30 years...
Had the Pleasure of having a beer with Gil at the Mavis Tavern in Mississauga, (35 or so, yrs. after meeting them at the Knob Hill Tavern, where I shared a few with Rik back in its Hey Day,) before he bought it & expanded the Already Successful METAL WORKS Studio & Learning Ctr. it is today! Always Thought You Should Have Sang More on Triumph's Albums as Your Voice Is Awesome! That would have happened If I was your Producer back then!!! Cheers to The Good Ol Days at The Knobby & Seeing Canada's Incredibly Awesome Rock Bank, TRIUMPH. Cheers....LUVUGUYS!
Met Rick and Bob barside, Before a show in Binghamton, ny Holiday Inn back on thunder 7 tour. Gil had not arrived yet. Then Yngwie in the elevator, great times.
A great ballad Gil Moore has a strong beautiful voice good song writer Gil Moore one of the greatest drummer in hard rock music. Rik Emmett one of the greatest guitar player in hard rock music. Triumph is one of the greatest underrated rock band in hard rock music. 😎🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸🎸🌹🌹❤️❤️🏋️🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🎸🎸🌹
Yes it WAS !!! A major Canadian rock band, I'm Canadian so I'm alot biased 🎶❤🎶❤👍🎶 Cuz Emmet wasn't lead vocals maybe !!! And this gave me my Just one night, thank you Triumph.
MCA promoted Triumph poorly to say the least. They were pressuring them to make some commercial singles. During Rik's banter during his shows with Dave Dunlap, he said they were receiving the pressure, so he quickly wrote Somebody's Out There to shut them up. And then it actually did well as a single - lol.
Thanks for that information. Been listening to this song for years and never knew there was an original out there! Eric’s is more pop sounding. Fitting for the mid 80’s.
This trio has to be the most underrated rock band EVER!!!! It does blow your mind when you get right down to it....
2023...still listening to this song by the great band Triumph...the memories always keep flooding in
Love this tune. Totally takes me back. Those truly were the days.
I am honestly stunned this band is not more popular...incredible music and talent

You can't deny, we see it in each other's eyes...
Some songs just take you right back and this is one of them for me

@@jared1940 totally agree!
@Tina Marie perfect!

@@jamcm2000 thanks for the recommendation! I'm definitely gonna look that up!
So happy I got to see them at War Memorial Auditorium, Buffalo NY, end of 1986. That year was magical.

Totally agree. And to think RCA wanted Rik as the sole lead singer of the group. I believe having both doing lead worked.
Tears in the Rain is one of my favorite from him.
IMO the key to success for this band was the DUO of the lead abilities of Rik and Gil, with no offense to Mike
Gil Moore really has some great vocals, very strong voice. Great drummer. He had a ton on his plate to pull off the singing and drumming!
From one of the best albums of the 80's. One year earlier and they could have burned up the radio. Cheesy video, love it!
Had this album back in high school played the shit out of it so underated album such a underated band awesome band with so much talent
I totally agree. They were prime Canadian band and I saw them twice. Absolutely fantastic
Jeez...I haven't heard this song in AGES. Brings back memories. :O

Rik Emmett also has two great songs on his solo LP/CD Absolutely! named "Saved By Love" and "When A Heart Breaks."
I still have this song on cassette which I listen to in my old car
My cousin Don, directed this video. Got to meet them at Lake Shore Studios in Toronto that day!! :)
Awesome!
Sweet!
Gil is a underated singer.ive always considered him like Don henley in the eagles but the canuck version.
Gil is way better than Henley
@@gregoryhainsworth2663 I agree
great band, great music ,soooo underrated
Last night I found this band. Great one! Love it! And I also love Triumph motorcycles. Such a cool combination!

2020, so love this sad love song!!
Oh me too. Triuph was terrific
2 of the best trios ever out of Toronto. Triumph and Rush!

For sure.
This band is so underrated.
I absolutely agree!!! 👍🏼
If this was Journey or Foreigner it would've been a top 10 song. Should have been a humongous monster hit!!
so great. vocally, one of their best. it's crazy to think how much I thought this video kicked ass when it was released.
Best song ever if you are trying to get with an ex ! They fall for it everytime !
My favorite Gil Moore tune

2024
@@melissawilson9249 Hopefully I'll still be listening in 2064.
Listening in 2024.
Me!!! ❤
Surprisingly, this is pretty good. I'm a little confused on why this wasn't more popular.
It was a time of too many ballads, overkill as every major and minor act at the time put out a similar sounding ballad over and over and over again
@@BeeBumper some like this one should have been more popular...this is an amazing song
Great version but not their creation
Yup. And since Eric Martin and Neal Schon were two of the writers, I'd love to hear the story of how this song came to be.
This never gets old…
Seems like a million years ago, just yesterday
One of the great ballads!!
Best monster ballad ever.
I wish it wasn’t cropped to widescreen. Can you upload it in the original format??
Seen these guys in 1985 at rivebend music center one of best concerts i ever attended
great vibes love these guys
Gil Moore's voice is amazing. Triumph has 2 lead singers. That's 66%.
Technically they had a third for one album... Phil X who replaced Rik Emmett... He's now in Bon Jovi
Agreed, Gil is amazing.. his vocal range in rock is second only to Rik
Giles voice was actually Fabulous
Underrated vocalist and song
I'm Canadian so im alot biased
Still one of my all time favorite 80's band 🎶😎😎😎🎶
❤
All 3 had their part to play. Which they all did willingly
It is 67% if you round it.
This band was great I know the words to all the tunes what talent
Love these guys
Never heard of this tune by Triumph. Pretty good and different from their other tunes. Nice .😊
Such a great band!!!
Este clipe é muito anos 80... ótimo.
Such a great song 👍🍺🎸
love theses songs hear mine computer so cool awesome
For those who are saying Eric Martin did a version of this song it's actually an Eric Martin song. He's the composer.
Just you and me !I love you !
Fantastic stuff. A classic.
This version sounds so much different then the radio one I heard the other day.
❤️
Mississauga Ontario
What a place it was
I remember this was played on KSHE 95 back in 86'.
so underrated!!
Still their best track.
I have all their albums but 2 all Rick Emmett albums cause those were the good ones
💗
The ultimate one night stand song. :P
Just remember my first love..
Legendary
AAAAHHH they edited the solo!!!
Most of it anyway
Originally An Eric Martin Song.

Thumbs up!
🖐nice
I've never heard this song before..it would be cool to cover it.and modernization it .I like it...
Also heard as background music in the Trailer Park Boys episode "The C--t Word"
i love metal but i love glossy 80s guitar like this and vinnie vincent invasion
Am I the only crazy guy here considering The Sport of Kings being their best record?
2024
Vincent Corey 🖤
Это уже классика!👍 И здесь не одного коммента по русски..., охуеть! 🙏
Eric Martin from Mr Big does great version
Eric Martin also did this song.

Guys, learn the lyrics to this outstanding song and sing it you gal...your welcome.
That's one great song and one awful music video
Lol. Hey, that's the best a Commodore 64 can do.
Thank God they rock.
😎🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Low budget gold!
Gotta disagree ....Rick Emmett was Triumph
I agree Jamie... they both inspired me... I'm a drummer who has been singing and playing since they were on MTV
by this time, the producers wanted us to think that. what led to their end.
I dont do that. Not that kind of girl. Means to much to me. Sorry
Dont come here please
