I used to think I could have had a better life if I made some different decisions. I now realize that only .000001 percent of people are actually happy,.so the odds were always against me. Now I'm just happy for what I have.

Actually, it’s about 16 million people now. Pretty sure that’s more than that percent-wise.

If only I had tried to be someone else. Then that person would need a therapist instead of me.

I _wish_ I looked as good as the lady at 8:15! I typically look more like 9:45, but my hair looks worse. I only leave my house once or twice a month and most days I'm too lazy to look for a hairbrush. I just avoid mirrors!

@JoeMuncie RIGHT ON! Being happy with what you have is the way to live. I'm gonna have to check out your channel and get a better look at your car. When I inherited my dad's classic 1977 Oldsmobile, that's the color I got it painted. I should have kept that car, but at the time I was getting ready to move 1500 miles, so I traded it in and bought a newer truck. At least now that I live in SoCal, there's always vintage car shows going on nearby. Those events make me happy!
I'm poor now, but back before I was disabled and I had money, I bought a 20 acre property in the mountains in SoCal. I had a manufactured house built for it, and I've lived off-grid for 17 years with solar electric. Off-grid with batteries, so no electric bills.
Even though I'm poor and disabled now, this is my happy place! I adopted unwanted goats from people who got them as babies and didn't like them after they grew up (I adore my kids!). I have chickens, a wonderful border collie whose owner had to give him up because he was TOO protective of her children and bit neighbors. She was happy that I called first. I told her, "You know how some parents get rid of the children's dog, but they lie and say the dog went to live on a ranch with lots of room to run and play? Well, that's MY place!"😃 I've had Joey the Wonderdog for 11 years now, and he's my ranch foreman who protects me and is my best buddy.
I have 3 cats that adopted me, and I love them so much! I also adopted a parrot whose owner hated him because he bit her (I wanted to bite her too after 5 minutes). He even talks, so how could I be lonely?
For the past 9 years, I've had a wonderful friendship with a pair of magnificent ravens, and their offspring. I feed them, they follow me around when I'm working outside and watch for danger. If someone is coming up the road (very rarely) they tell me, and will even divebomb ones they don't like. Ravens are huge, and kinda scary until one gets to know them. They bring me gifts almost every day, small tools, and even an outdoor thermometer that still works!
A couple of months ago, a social worker came to see me and my adult son who has schizophrenia and is disabled. I warned her about the ravens, and told her to call when she's a mile away so I can go out and talk to them and let them know she's a friend. I imagine this lady was thinking, "Okay, I guess everyone is crazy at this house!"
Sure enough, they swooped in front of her vehicle, cawing like mad. Before she got out of the car, I told the birds, "She's okay, guys! FRIEND!" They hopped up and down from their usual roosting place. This lady was kind enough to take me grocery shopping that day, and the ravens followed us all the way to town. When we got back to my house, the birds were cawing again, so I pulled out the two big bags of peanuts to show I didn't forget them! They did their celebratory swoops and dives and aerial acrobatics to show off for us.
The lady was stunned, "I wouldn't have believed this if I hadn't seen it, you know? You are like a Disney Princess, only darker!"
That's about the nicest thing anyone has said to me!
I had some very unhappy times in my life, back when I had money, but today I'm enjoying life and my animals are true friends who appreciate me. Embracing my weirdness and following my bliss has worked out better than I could have imagined. Obviously, I've lost my damn mind from too much solitude, but I didn't have much mind left to lose anyway.

Yes, I need that bed. Not just for me but the ungodly amount of stuffed animals I have

Correction: The ungodly amount of stuffed animals you -have- _NEED!_
I'm almost 63, and I still have my Easter bunny from 1963, along with pretty much every stuffed animal I've ever had. They're the only friends I have these days.

@@sapphocortez2287 To be fair, I'm a total weirdo, I've just reached an age where I don't care what people think! I've also been without a man for nine years now, and I'm really enjoying getting to do whatever TF I want without hearing, "Well, what you OUGHT to do is..."
My real animals and my stuffed animals don't care what I do! However, even with a bed that big, my cat would still figure a way to hog it and I'd still wake up with a cat butt in my face.😸
