Thank you for this wonderful presentation that helps us all to better understand the science behind global heating and cooling. The core cause of the man-made climate crisis is mankind's
behavior towards the environment. The core cause of our heartless behavior towards our environment is our heartless behavior model i.e. 'profit = income - expenses'. This ridiculous behavior model features two major errors. 1) It says that profit equals money. In reality money is merely a permission slip that allows us to get some of our actual gains. 2) It instructs us to maximize profit by avoiding and or eliminating as many expenses as possible. This clearly explains why the earth is on fire and why there is so much homelessness.
In order to correct our behavior, we must first correct our behavior model. How about this new behavior model?
"Profit = protecting and enriching the environment, and sharing the sustenance that it provides for all of us".
This new behavior model works because it states that our only major expense is 'ignoring our obligation to protect and enrich the environment'.
The new profit model requires us to create millions of new jobs that will come under the heading "Caretakers of the Environment".
Caretakers will have many specialized categories:
    1. Collecting pollution that is already in the environment
    2. Collecting pollution before it gets into the environment
    3. Dealing with all of the waste in such ways that are good for the environment, and or good for the production of products.
    4. Economically incentivizing families with two or fewer children
    5. Designing new ways of producing products so that those products last for a long time and don't have to be replaced every two years.
There will be many more types of Caretaker jobs.
Every company and government will have Caretaker jobs, and everybody will be schooled, from elementary school through university about how to be caretakers of the environment.
So, we can correct our behavior!
Responses will be greatly appreciated. I'm particularly concerned about how we would make the transition from our present economy to this entirely new economy.
It may already be too late to save our environment, but it is never too late to try.

James Hansen says Renewables need Nuclear Power to help them & a Carbon Tax to be repaid to the General Public.

I am grateful for this fine, intelligent, and highly informative interview, but am disappointed at 36m when Sir David is touting solar panels and electric vehicles. The sole underlying driver of global heating is, well, global heating. A single solar panel absorbs and reradiates 34,500 BTUs per sunny day. I have not seen the waste heat production of EVs, or windmills, but it must be considerable, also. We have a long history of modern humans leaping before we look at the consequences of one new tech after another. I particularly appreciate the focus on the Arctic and ice loss. C3S has great stats, including 1.2 trillion tons globally annually, so 3.3 billion per day. They have predicted a 2/3rds loss of the 220,000 glaciers by 2,100. Voluntary reduction of our massive overpopulation/overconsumption must be a priority, if any of our progeny are to survive total climate collapse.

This idea of ‘waste heat’ is a misunderstanding . CO2 is holding in the sun’s heat, which is many orders of magnitude greater than any ‘waste heat’. Also, that ‘waste heat’ is simply a conversion of energy which is already in the atmosphere.

@@and2244rew So glad you brought this up. CO2 is 20 times more heat energy absorbant than H2O, and there is at any one time 10-14 times more water vapor by weight in the atmosphere, but water vapor is a steady conveyor of waste heat into space, whereas CO2 remains in the atmosphere for 100yrs. Thus, water vapor is a much more powerful conductor of heat away from our increasingly over heated planet. Waste heat is the result of every aspect of fossil fuel burning and "alternative energy" production, amplified by CO2 and other GHGs. Denying this reality is absurd. Sorry you and so many others have bought the CO2 myth.

      @@StressRUs Total word salad.
When you say ‘waste heat’, what exactly do you mean by that?
