Image #5 - Chang Lu (A.D. 1490-1563), Lao Tzu Riding a Water Buffalo. According to Chinese tradition, Lao Tzu, after writing the Tao Teh Ching in his old age, left the world riding a water buffalo. He travelled through Hanku Pass to the Chungnan Mountains in the west, where he became a hermit in the wilderness.
