Absolutely the best Kubota L series fluid maintenance video on the internet. Plus, it was a pure delight to watch. Nobody else even comes close. When I told the dealer that I was going to do the 400 hour fluids myself, he said, "Right" and gave me the ol' eye roll. ( I am an ER doctor, not a mechanic.) Ha! But I have " Everything Elliott". Cannot thank you enough. R. Henry, M.D. (L 2501 owner)
Greetings Elliott! Brother I can't thank you enough. I'm in your debt. Man you just don't know just how long I've looked for a video like yours. I'm a first time tractor owner on a small farm in South Georgia. You're very informative and fun to watch. I've had my L4701 for 5 years, I bought it brand new. I have always taken my tractor in for maintenance, but you have convinced me that I can do this. I can't wait to perform my next maintenance. Thank you Elliott for this wonderful, fun and personal Kubota L4701 Maintenance video. You are the best. Darrell Casey (L4701 owner)
My front axle took very little oil. I had to do it in more than one pouring. I got and a gallon and a half out, but only got almost a gallon back in. I added more over the course of a coupla days between uses! Too weird! This is why I watched your video actually, so I got to chuckling when I saw you have the same issue. Please comment about how any follow up filling of the front axle went. Thanks. Great Video.
I did it it in 4 checks. 2 the day I pulled it out. I added more the next day (not a lot, bout a pint) then a half pint the next day. She seeped just a drop today when I opened the check it port, but I am going to check it at each use a coupla more times. Thank You for responding.
What about the front axle fluid? Don’t forget to replace it also. I have an L3560 and just did all filters and fluids. The front end was last and a bit finicky to replace.
Subtracting dinner time, video set up and travel to the dealership. how long did the whole process take you? Great, informative video. Thanks for sharing, Elliott!
Kubota UDT 2 straight from the dealer. I believe I mentioned that in the video. It was the same price as the generic hydraulic fluid from tractor supply

Mine actually was full after running it, I didn’t need to add anymore even though I thought I would have to

About an hour and a half, about 30 min of that was waiting for the front axle to drain.
GREAT VIDEO!!
Hope it helped!
Do you have to remove drive shaft to drop the oil pan?
If you need to remove the oil pan in its entirety, yes…
ok thank you kindly
Great job love the Kubota L4701 videos it teaches me a lot on how to maintain my tractor..
Great job again…
Go chicken pot pie!!
Thanks for watching! Glad it helped!
Kubota teck told me each front hub has its own fluid
I find that hard to believe, atleast on my model, but I’ll look into it
I just did this on my L4600 and made just as big a mess.
I believe they say "you'll have that on the bigger jobs..."
it would have been helpful to raise your bucket all the way up and put a pipe under it.
I dont have anything tall enough that I would trust...
You should be able to rock out the loader hydraulics at the valve or maybe there is a lock brace you can put in place stored on the loader
What brand hydraulic fluid did you use?
