It seems like this takes a tremendous amount of effort. I strain in meditation trying to *see clearly* and even when I relax, there’s letfover straining, trying to *see it*. Truly letting go seems impossible to do. It IS impossible to DO. How do I Undo doing???
After saying it is impossible to do. You ask again how do i undo doing. This implies that you actually have not understood that it is in fact impossible to do. What would you do if you really understood that it is impossible? In some way that question is equivalent to the question: How do i live if life is as it is right now for the rest for my life in every moment. It is an eternal question without any specific answer. The answer is living every moment as the question - and that, I believe, ties into what francis is talking about - waiting for an answer without waiting for any specific answer, because the answer is the question.
When you sit to meditate, imagine you’re in a dream, so you’re not a person meditating trying to “see” something, or to reach a state of “clarity”. In fact, you are the “whole dream” (in your dreams you create everything, not only the character whose story you’re living, even though you’re generally not aware of it), so there’s nothing important this character could do, apart from enjoying what it is living. So if you’re not wanting to meditate, forcing yourself to do it doesn’t make much sense, it’s better to follow your heart and do what fills you with interest and enthusiasm, following this freedom of being there. But what happens to me is that I often want to just go directly to that place without doing other activities, so I just enjoy it, as it is my heart’s desire at that moment, and I know there’s absolutely nothing to achieve or to do - the purpose of the dream is the beauty of it, at that exact moment, it is an exploration of our own infinity. I know you probably understands this, but if others read it, It doesn’t mean you don’t do practical things in your life, or other obligations (although they align more and more with your interests, with what really gives you joy), but in those moments you set to meditate, this approach can be very helpful, at least to me :) I hope this can help somehow! The main thing is to understand your not the character there trying to meditate and “do” something to reach a certain state, but whether you’re the whole reality of that moment, appreciating the incredible fact that you exist ☺️ - there could be absolutely nothing, a complete nothingness, but you’re there, you, existence, the fact of there being something. And thanks to this, all forms, colors and shapes can be there, how amazing and beautiful isn’t this ? 💛
@@Plaqtra thanks. I know it’s impossible, yet obviously, I want to wake up. Clearly there are things I can do to facilitate this process. I had been doing self-inquiry, which has led me to something like: “just surrender to this, just this”. But I am always straining, I don’t know how to not strain without “falling asleep” (or literally falling asleep). All seems quite paradoxical
@@HenriqueWs_ thanks, I can see the gist of what you’re saying. I’m trying to not imagine anything, because daydreaming/view things through a “different angle” hasn’t ever helped me
@@GodamoleI follow that you understand this theoretically, but it sounds like to do not know really what it means in the same sense as someone understanding everything about mangoes from books, videos, lectures, pictures, conversations etc. who has never actually had a real mango in his hand and tasted it... And actually having a Mango and eating is trivial and not that impressive compared to all the great information you could find about mangoes. Do you know that feeling of watching an advertisement of something that excites you? And then when you finally get the thing it doesn't really live up to your expectations? In the same way someone who has devoted his whole life to the study of mangoes might dismiss the mango all together upon tasting one: "this doesn't conform to my studies and all I know about mangoes, so this cannot be a mango" and so it happens that a mango enthusiast will keep seeking the mango even though he already knows it. Consciousness is trivial. It is a fact of existence which makes it seem like nothing you should really care about or be exited about the least. Therefore any expectation, derived from previous knowledge of what consciousness ought to be, will turn into a clever tool dismiss consciousness altogether as "not what you are seeking".
