Wow Ken. I live 10 miles inland from Ballycastle. Amazing to see you go under the Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge. My wife and I are planning to try that this summer. My favourite thing to do on a kayak is from Portrush, Whiterocks Beach to Dunluce Castle. Going into the Cathedral cave and through the Wishing Arch at Magheracross. There are also 7 canoe trails around Northern Ireland that I'm planning to try this summer. Enjoy your holiday and I can't wait to see your next video.
@@davidpoots8362 Thanks David. I had a look at some of your videos. We are just fair-weather recreational kayakers. My wife is not experienced and we will be in our inflatable tandem. So I will only take her if conditions are really calm. We will probably just do a round-trip from Ballintoy harbour. Kayaking is such a great way to see our coastline. 😎
Looked amazing. I was surprised both of you werent wearing a helmet in those rock gardens. I know you are an amazing paddler, but a swim there could be really rough...
Awesome video Ken, and nice to see you out with the PakAyaK once again. A friend David paddles them waters and a hell of a lot more around there. You need to get yourself over to the UK next, plenty of Rivers / Lochs / and lakes. Not to mention just like Ireland lots to see by sea.
@@PaddleTVGlad you enjoyed it over this part of the world. Think I will have to bring my PakAyaK back to it's home country for a paddle one day. As some of the spots I have watched you paddling look amazing.
@@THE-RIVER-RAT The vast majority of ireland is an independent republic officially known as ireland, but Northern ireland the north eastern 6 counties is still in the UK.
Great video. Good to see you enjoying our fantastic coastline. My favourite spot is Ballintoy harbour, Dunseverick, portbradden, portballintrae, etc.etc.etc. it just goes on and on.
Ken, wonderful to see you enjoying the craggy coastline of Ireland. I have plans to paddle some in mainland Europe (canals and rivers) next year. I never even considered a sea adventure and after watching you in the PacYak I'm thinking I need to add in a day or two having the same experience! PS - Today I moved up to a brand new Eddyline Sitka LT! Can't wait to try it!
Really enjoyed watching this. I liked seeing the Pakayak as I'm looking to possibly get one soon, just can't decide if I want it in Surf or Habanero. I was initially thinking about getting the Trak 2.0 but I have seen some extremely alarming (frankly disturbing) reports of people having to wait months and even years to get the kayak that they have already paid for with next to no communication from the company. Very strange.
Can I ask what Size spray skirt you're using? Pakayak say their cockpit is 18" by 35.5" but NRS Drylander Shock Cord Whitewater Kayak Spray Skirt Large starts at 19" wide so is too wide but the mediums length is not long enough! So I assume that you are using the large one, but did you not find that it was too wide? It looks like it fits well in the video!
Yup. I'm using the Large NRS Drylander. It doesn't fit super tight, which makes it easy to get on and off, but I wasn't worried about it popping at any time. It makes a solid seal.
@@PaddleTV Thank you so much for your reply. I haven't bought a Spray skirt for the Pakayak yet. But I was thinking of buying the NRS Drylander Shock Cord Whitewater Kayak Spray Skirt because it looked good and tight taut in your video. Based on your experience am I making a good choice and will it stay put if I need to roll?
Somethin tells me they didn't plan to go rock gardening and became tempted in the moment without really thinking about the fact they didn't have helmets oops😂

A story well told - so much so, one feels like living it oneself! Perhaps, one day!...
Thanks Ken for showcasing our wee island!
You are also welcome to stop by Norway and try out the west coast with us 🙂
I would LOVE to. One of these days I will! :)
@@PaddleTV Great! Feel free to contact me if you should decide 🙂

Under Carrick-a-rede is a great trip, but there are some nasty breaking waves and strong tides. Choose a day with almost no swell and neap tides.

Just plan your trip, go when there is no surf at white park bay and 1/2 moon in sky. Please carry a mobile.
What an awesome area you live in! I can’t wait to return and explore more.

This is excellent! Great job, team.

It wet the appetite for paddling in that part of the world, that’s for sure!
I've been to Derry and Londonderry, and they're both lovely cities.

Cheers!
